Sephiroth growled softly as he opened his eyes, finding himself surrounded by blinding green lightso he was in the Life Stream once more, was he? Not that it matter, he could come and go at will. No, it didnt matter that he was in the Life Stream once moreall that mattered was that his plans had been denied. He released an irritated snarl as images of the past flooded into his mind. Memories of what had taken place in the reactor at Mt. Nibel, five years ago. If it hadnt been for his enemy, he wouldnt have died that day. Cloud, supposedly his inferior clone, had some how managed to defeat him. How was he able to defeat him? He remembered it all too clearly, almost as if it had happened yesterday. He had just freed his mother, and was preparing to leave when Cloud, that naïve inexperienced fool, had chased after him, carrying his fallen friends sword. He, being the superior fighter, faced the younger man and impaled his sword, the Masamune, in his chest. He had thought Cloud was dead, but instead the younger man took hold of the blade, obviously unaware of the pain of the metal cutting into his flesh, and threw him over the edge, into the Mako pit below and to his death. That had been the first time Cloud had foiled his plans.
Again he released an irritated growl as he moved on through the Life Stream. He caught a glimpse of the former president of Shinra incorporated, Rufus, but he soon vanished. No doubt someone had found a way to revive him, or even worsehe found a way to revive himself. It didnt matter. More memories flooded into his mind as he continued through the Stream. These were of the final battle in the Northern Crater. MotherJenova had just been defeated by Cloud and his band of misfits, as he had guesses she would be. There was no questioning their power once they were as united as they were. True his mother had been strong, and for that he had been thankful. It was because of her strength that he had been able to get as far as he had, but not even that mattered now. The group moved on and met him head on. He had transformed into his Bizarro form, and had thought himself invincible, but, like his mother, they had proven him wrongutterly wrong. His next form was his fallen angel form, his angel of death, and once again, he had thought that he was more powerful then the lot of them put together, and he had come close to beating them, except for oneCloud had survived and managed to defeat this form, but not before reviving those who had been in his party. And finally came the one on one battle, in which he had drawn Cloud out of his body. Again he had misjudged his opponent, and Cloud struck first. Blow after blow, leaving him incapable of deflecting any of them, and only to take each hit, until finally he lost control of himselfof his powers, and was destroyed. Or so they had thought.
Again he growled softly as the memories faded away. He tightly closed his eyes, balling up his gloved hands into fists. All he could think about was Cloudthat fool who had managed to overpower him. He just didnt understand how that was possible. Cloud had always been weaker than him, always. That was why it had been so easy to manipulate him. That had been why it had been so easy to get the Black Materia from him. So why was it possible for him to defeat himtwice! None of this made any sense to him. He slowly opened his eyes, looking about him once more. It no longer mattered if it made sense or not. Nothing mattered, except for one thingrevenge. He would have his revenge, even if it cost him his life. Not only would he take revenge on Cloudhe would make all who had aided him pay as well. Valentine, Lockheart, Wallace, all of them would feel his wraith.
He slowly looked around the Life Stream once more then began to laugh, softly at first then loud enough to wake the dead. He would have his revenge; all he must do now is wait. Soon Cloud would feel a type of hell that was never thought possible. He would see to it that he suffered the most. All that mattered now was to be patient. He would bid his time in the blinding hell, regenerating his depleted powers then, like a poised snake waiting to attack, he would strike. Nothing could possibly stop him now. He slowly closed his eyes as he continued to laugh, ignoring all that happened around him. All he must do is wait. So it is true what they sayrevenge is a dish best served cold.

Cloud sighed softly as he spurred his Chocobo forward. Vincent rode behind him, reloading his gun as his Chocobo continued its steady pace. Cloud had to admit that he was always amazed by something Vincent did. To be able to reload a gun, while on a moving chocobos back was quite a task, and Vincent was able to do it flawlessly. He looked away from his companion, noticing that Junon was only five minutes away. It had taken them almost two hours to get where they were. Normally it wouldnt have taken this long. He sighed as he looked over his shoulder.
Hows your arm Cloud? Vincent inquired, never looking away from his task. He didnt need to look away; he knew Cloud was in front of him. He also knew that the other man was now slowing his birds pace so that they were beside one another. He closed his eyes; still loading the gun then put it in its holster once he had finished.
Itll be finethose stupid Fangs. I thought the monster population would die away after we defeated Sephiroth, he bitterly answered, narrowing his eyes a bit. Vincent looked at him then, shaking his head slowly.
Give it time, Cloud. Its only been a couple months since we defeated Sephiroth. These things cant happen over night. With that said, he fell silent once more, showing that he was done talking for the time being. Cloud stared at him for a moment then looked towards Junon once more, half expecting to see the massive cannon. He didnt. Vincent must have expected it too, for he was now shaking his head, his eyes closed halfway. Cloud still wasnt use to Vincents quiet manner. True he couldnt deny that whenever he did say something, it always was something useful, but still, no one should be that silent. He just didnt understand it. Then again, he really didnt understand Vincent, so that might explain it. He never saw any emotion on the other mans face, but he caught glimpses of them in his inhuman eyes. When the Fangs had attacked, he could have sworn he saw anger flash through Vincents eyes when one of them had knocked him off of his Chocobo. If that was the case then Vincent hide more than he needed to, but he wasnt about to say anything. It wasnt enough that Vincent had a way to make it seem as though his eyes were a type of weapon. That alone sent shudders down his spine.
He sighed softly, glancing at the other man then looked ahead once more. Vincent saw this out of the corner of his eye, but choose to ignore it. He had other things on his mind at the moment, mainly the continuous nagging feeling that something was going to happen. Something that could very well change all of their lives, for the worse. He always had these types of feelings, and nothing had proven them wrong yet. He had learned over time to trust these feelings, and make his decisions based on them. That was how he handled a battle. He would never transform unless he felt it was absolutely necessary. True that most of the time, it was, but that was before he had told himself to trust Cloud and the others. It had been hard to do so at first. The only thing he had trusted was to get revenge on Hojo for what he had done to him in the past. After that had been accomplished, he didnt know what he would do. He had even thought about abandoning the mission, but then he remembered that in his own mysterious way, he was a part of the team, something he hadnt been for many years. He had forced himself to admit that he had missed that sort of thing. That was why he had come back the next day, after the group had split up. He felt obligated to help the team that had so kindly accepted his aid. It was still hard for him to admit that he now had a friendship with the others, but more so with Cloud. He respected him the most out of the others, he and Tifa. They left him alone and didnt bother him, unlike the others, who were always nagging him about showing his true self more often, to which he would reply that he didnt know how. That in itself was a lie, but he didnt feel the need to let them know that.
He closed his eyes for a moment then looked at Cloud once more, noticing that he still hadnt healed his wounded arm. Why was he delaying it? If it continued to bleed, it would surely weaken him. Is that what he wanted? He shook his head once as he reached into his pocket, taking out his Restore Materia, healing Clouds arm with just one spell. The other man looked at him, raising an eyebrow in questioning, but said nothing. He silently put his Materia away, looking away from him. Cloud and the others were all he really had for friends, and yet he couldnt bring himself to admit it, to anyone, even himself. When they had been attacked, he had felt a burning sensation pass over him. At first he had thought that he was about to transform, but that hadnt been the case. What it had been was that fact that when Cloud had gotten knocked off of his Chocobo and attacked, it had made him fearfully for him, to a point where he drew his gun, killing any and every Fang that got in his way until they were all dead, and Cloud was on his feet, holding his arm. The confused look he had received from him was enough to tell him he had almost let his fear and worry get the best of him.
Hey, Vincent? Are you all right? Cloud asked as he rested a gentle hand on his shoulder, making him jump slightly. He slowly opened his eyes, looking at him before nodding once. Cloud nodded once in reply and removed his hand, but the feeling it left remained with Vincent. It wasnt that he was bothered by it, instead he felt odd in a way. He hadnt had someone do that sort of thing for a long time. It brought back many unwanted memories, but he didnt bother pushing them away, not this time. He was done pushing his memories back, no matter how painful they were. He had done that for too long, and now he was finding it difficult to get out of the habit of. Well, here we are. I said Id meet Tifa at the beach. You gonna be okay by yourself? Cloud asked, looking at him.
Yes, Im sure Ill find something to do to keep me busy. Dont keep Tifa waiting, he answered as he climbed off of his Chocobo, releasing it. It chirped softly then turned and left the town. Cloud did the same then hurried towards the beach. Vincent watched after him then headed towards the elevator that would lead him to the upper city of Junon. He knew there was nothing in the lower town that would interest him, there never was. He was glad to find that the elevator still worked, and it only took a few moments to reach the top. What greeted him had been what he had been expecting. The streets were empty, except for the few who still lived here. He slowly looked around then headed towards the bar, checking to make sure his gun was ready, in case someone decided to get on his case about something. Theyd learn the hard way to leave him alone.

Cloud leapt down the cracked stairs leading to the beach and found Tifa standing near the water, letting the gentle waves hit her feet. As usual she was wearing her white top and black skirt. In her hands were her boots, as well as her socks. The only thing that was different about her appearance was her hair, which she had let fall down, instead of being pulled back. He had to admit he liked her hair better down than he did when it was up. He silently made his way towards her then wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing the back of her neck softly. For a moment neither one of them moved then she slowly turned around, facing him, but never leaving his arms. For several long moments they just stared into each others eyes then she smiled, kissing his cheek lightly.
What took so long? It normally never takes you this long to get here, she asked, never looking away. He smiled as he ran one of his fingers down her cheek.
Vincent and I were attacked by a group of Fangs on the way here, but were both okay, he answered, calming down the worried look that appeared in her eyes.
How had Vincent been? Its been so long since Ive seen him. Is he doing okay?
Wellas far as I can tell, yeah. He hasnt changed much. Hes still as quiet as ever, his emotions locked inside, he answered, as he shrugged, not really able to answer her question. She nodded slowly, smiling a little, nodding once before she leaned forward and kissed him on the lips before breaking away.
Lets go for a walk, she insisted as she took his hand, leading him back into the small town before he had a chance to object.
