Chapter One: Past Memories And Present Tears
Author's Note: Hey everyone! This is my second Final Fantasy 7 fic ever written.
Cloud is basically heartbroken when Tifa gets with Reno but then he meets up with
someone from his past and starts to fall for her. Pairings: Cloud X oc, Reno X Tifa, and Vincent X oc
It was a beautiful and calm day in the town of Nibelheim. A boy of sixteen slowly rose from his sleep in his bed at the inn. He yawned as he stood and got dressed. His name was Cloud Strife, a member of SOLDIER.
A knock on the door, caused the young soldier to jump slightly. He walked over to the door, half expecting the person to be Zack or Sephiroth, but that wasn't who it was.
A girl no older than fourteen stood outside the door. She had long golden blond hair and firey blue eyes. They too had a Mako glow to them. She smiled sweetly at Cloud.
Cloud felt a small blush run across his cheeks, but it quickly left as soon as it appeared. "Hey, Charity," he replied softly as he embraced his friend in a gentle hug.
It was now Charity's turn to blush. It was no secret that she had a huge crush on Cloud, but she didn't mention it to anyone. She knew that Cloud had a thing for Tifa. "Hey," she responded and returned the friendly gesture.
Once the two had ended the hug, Cloud looked at Charity, a serious expression on his face. "I've been meaning to tell you something," he said almost forcefully. He looked away from his friend and sighed heavily.
Charity got a look of concern on her face and she gently placed a hand on Cloud's shoulder. "What is it?" she whispered, almost dreading the answer.
"I'm going to join SOLDIER," There, he had said it. Cloud looked at his friend and almost immediatly wished he hadn't told her anything, but this was not just something he could keep from her, "I'm sorry."
Charity shook her head, her beautiful eyes shining with tears. "Don't be," she said in tones as soft as a lullaby, "I hear it's a big honor to be a member of SOLDIER..." She trailed off and looked away.
Cloud sighed and wrapped his arms around Charity's slender form. "Don't worry," he whispered in her ear, "I'll be back to visit someday." He smiled sadly and felt tears sting his own eyes. He pulled away after a few minutes and gently kissed Charity on the cheek. "Goodbye," he said. With that, he walked off, not looking back.
Charity waited until Cloud was out of sight before she finally let her tears flow freely. She tried to wipe them away, but couldn't. She hung her head and closed her eyes with a painful look on her face. "Goodbye, Cloud," she whispered as she walked off in the opposite direction Cloud had.

Five Years And Three Months Later...
"Congratulations, Tifa!" cried Yuffie as she embraced the older girl in a hug, "How far along are you?" Her brown eyes sparkling with excitement.
Tifa smiled softly as she placed a hand on her slightly swollen belly. "Two months," she answered, "I can't wait to find out what it's going to be."
"Me neither," said Reno as he wrapped his arms around Tifa, kissing her softly. He and Tifa had been dating for a month and a half now.
It had taken Barret and the others, especially Cloud, quite awhile to get used to having Reno around them. It couldn't be helped, though, they were all just worried that the Ex-Turk would try something.
Cloud just remained silent, but the look on his face spoke louder than any words could have. It had been harder for him than any of the others to accept the fact that Tifa was in love with Reno and it was even harder now that Tifa had just told everyone she was pregnant.
Tifa looked over at her childhood friend and suddenly became very nervous. Her ruby eyes locked with Cloud's blue Mako glowing ones and she could see the look of hurt and anger in his eyes. "Cloud...?" she whispered in an unsure voice.
Cloud suddenly allowed a smile to wonder onto his face. "Congratulations," he said finally as walked over to Tifa and embraced her in a hug. ~Her happiness is my happiness,~ he thought to himself as he closed his eyes and got lost in the moment, ~Even if her happiness is with someone else...~

"Go, mommy!" cheered a little girl with blond hair and royal blue eyes watched a large golden Chocobo near the finish. Its rider was a young woman of nineteen with golden blond hair.
The Chocobo crossed the finish line and warked in victory. The rider stepped off and gently pet the large bird. "You did great, Thea," she said softly.
Several people bowed their heads and clutched their tickets in thier hands. It was obvious that they had bet on the wrong person. However, some of them were jumping up and down for joy.
The woman walked over to Ester to claim her gp. She smiled when she saw two very familier faces. "Hello, Skye," she said as she opened her arms to the little girl that had been cheering her on minutes earlier.
Skye smiled and quickly ran into her mother's open arms. She was followed by a young man of twenty one. He had golden blond hair and violet eyes. "Long time, no see," he said with an amused smile, "How's it been going, sis?"
The woman smiled and shook her head. "Just great," she answered as she brushed a few stray strands of her hair back behind her ears, "How about you, Scott?"
"Pretty good," Scott answered as he glared at a few guys that looked at his younger sister, "So, how are you managing by yourself with Skye, Charity?" His eyes shined with deep concern.
Charity sighed. "It's alot of hard work," she admitted with a look of regret, "But I've been able to manage so far..." She trailed off and walked over to the prize woman and recieved a Carab Nut.
Scott sighed and got a stern look on his face. "You can't keep living like this," he stated in a low tone, "You should go back home to mom and dad." He was cut off by his sister walking away from him with Skye in her arms. "Charity?" he said as he followed.
"Look," said Charity when she finally stopped and turned around to face Scott, "I'll be just fine. Casey and her family are taking really good care of me and Skye. We'll manage." She then hopped on Thea's back.
"But...," Scott held himself back from saying anymore. After all, Charity was almost twenty and deserved to be treated as such, "Fine, but know that the door will always be open for you."
Charity smiled and nodded. "Thanks Scott," she said in tones as soft a lullaby, "I'll see you later." With that, she gave the order for Thea to take off, looking back one last time.
"Bye, uncle Scott!" yelled Skye as she waved over Charity's shoulder.
Scott waved, feeling a sad smile slip onto his face. "I just hope you're right," he said to the wind, "For both Skye's sake and yours."
