I have been watch far too much “Law and Order: CI and SVU”. Plus, because of my friend; Ritalin_writer, her obsession for Vincent has plagued me and I've fallen for the former Turk as well.

 

So…

 

While `Immortality' is for Ritalin_writer, `Ten Year Run' is for me!

Ch. 1

 

Who did this to you?

 

----------------------------------------------

 

 

 

 

“Let's get him onto the stretcher and into the ambulance, quickly!”, the head EMT orders.

 

The EMT's carefully roll a young man with short black hair; bangs draped over the left side of his face, from the puddle of his blood onto the stretcher, half his face was covered in blood. His breathing was shallow and irregular.

 

“Hank, who found the victim?”, an officer asks.

 

“An off-duty EMT; John, and his wife heading home after having dinner”, Hank replies.

 

“John dress his head-wound?

 

“Yeah, with his wife's scarf”, Hank says, climbing into the back of the ambulance, “Catch the son of a bitch who did this, Tom”, he adds, before turning to the other EMTs, “Let's get this guy to the hospital!”, he states, shutting the doors, as the ambulance drives away.

 

“Pressure is 70/30, he barely has a pulse”, an EMT reports.

 

Another pulls one of his eye-lids and shines a pen-light into his eye.

 

“Pupils are dilated, no response to light”.

 

“Get oxygen on him!”, Hank orders.

Ten Minutes Later…

 

 

“Get him into the ER!”, the doctor commands, “Nurse, stats!”

 

“He's lost almost half of his blood, he's going into shock doctor!”, the nurse shouts, attaching the victim to a heart-monitor.

 

A fast beeping rhythm beeps out his heart-beats.

 

“What's his blood-type?”

 

One of the nurses takes the young man's wallet and opens it.

 

“His donor-card says: A. Poor guy, he's only 17”.

 

“Contact his parents, they need to know”.

 

A long-continuous beep indicates flat-line.

 

“He's crashing!”

 

The doctor grabs the defibrillator-paddles, “Charge to 100!”

 

The defibrillator beeps in signal it was charged.

 

“Clear!”, the doctor yells, as he presses the paddles to the young man's chest, causing his torso to raise off the table from the shock.

 

The heart-monitor resumes beeping again, but his skin was as pale as snow and his lips turning blue.

An Hour Later…

 

 

“Vitals are stabilizing, doctor”, the nurse says.

 

“Let's get him into the ICU, nurse”, the doctor orders.

 

“Doctor, his father is in the waiting-room”, another nurse informs, as the victim is wheeled out of the ER.

 

“Thank you, nurse”.

In the Waiting-Room…

 

 

A tall man in his mid-40's with red eyes and shoulder-length black hair paces back and forth.

 

“Mr. Valentine?”, the doctor questions.

 

“Dr. Gast, how is my son?”

 

“It isn't good Grimoire, he was severely beaten causing minor bruises, scratches and bumps, but the gash to his temple is serious. He's lost a lot of blood and the blow he received has left him in a deep coma”, Gast replies, “He's in the ICU now”.

 

“Can I go up to see my son?”

 

“Follow me, Grimoire”.

“Vincent, what happened to you…?”, Grimoire whispers, as he saw his comatose son.

 

Vincent lays on the gurney hooked-up to a respirator, an IV of blood attached to his arm, a heart-monitor beeping out the rhyme of his heart-beats, and a brainwave-monitor recording his brainwaves displaying no activity, and his forehead was wrapped in bandages.

 

He had no skin-tone; his skin was as white as snow, and his breathing was shaky.

 

“Who could have done this to you…?”
