Final Fantasy - All Series Fan Fiction ❯ The Second Life ❯ Chapter Six ( Chapter 6 )
Ahhh.... Sephiroth was brought back.... I wonder when that was.... He stroked jet-black hair from his eyes as he watched Sephiroth mourn the parture of Cloud's clan. All too amusing it was, really. It had been easy to get Sephiroth... right... where... he... wanted... him... Just like before. So... prodictable, you are, Sephiroth... He turned and started to walk off in the dark hallway, the heals of his boots making a soft click-click-click on the ground, his long white coat flared out at the bottom as he walked.
"Hojo...." He heard a voice call from behind him. The venom made him quiver with amusement. Oh... how he could just feed from that venom... that hate... He laughed evilly.
Such an evil thing you are, Hojo... He thought, laughing still.
"You called those guards didn't you!?" The voice bellowed, encouraging Hojo's laugh.
"And if I did...?" Hojo called back, not once turning around. All he got in response was a low, cold, furious growl from Sephiroth. A growl that would probably scare any other person shitless. "Awwww.... poor Sephy almost wost his wittle cwusshhhhh?" He teased as he sneered with bitter humor.
"I'll kill you, you son of a bitch!" He heard Sephiroth lunge foreward, the sound of his blade scraping the ground was exhillerating... oh, all of it was... the anger, the hate... the bitterness in Sephiroth's voice... Hojo felt as if he could take all of it into a wine glass is swallow it all up in one gulp. Oh, how he missed it all... The sound was right behind him, his instinct told him to move aside, but he fought it off. Not yet... He will prove to dear Sephiroth that he had become the being he was in his youth...
"Die, Coward!" Sephiroth snarled, bringing his sword above him, them sliced downwards at Hojo. Hojo unsheathed a small knife from the collar of his sleeve and parried the on coming attack with ease. He looked up into Sephiroth's glowing, hate-filled eyes with his own dark, emotionless orbs.
"You've gone rusty, Sephiroth..." Hojo spat at him like poison. "When was the last time you've sheathed your blade in someone's flesh?" Hojo smirked at the bitterness in Sephiroth's features. "Ahhh now, Sephy... have you forgotten that your blade needs blood like you need water and food?"
Sephiroth pulled away, stood his ground, and studied Hojo's calm form. How could he be so calm and collected? This hardly seemed like the Hojo that he loathed so much. He seemed so much more.... evil... so much more powerful... Did Shin-Ra enhance him? Did they inject some new chemical in him to make him so swift, so strong... "What did Shin-Ra do to you?" He asked in a soft growl.
Hojo cocked an eyebrow. "Do to me? Like experiment? Ahhh, Sephiroth... all they did was take a few years from my old body..." He chuckled softly. "It is you that they had fun with..."
Sephiroth hummed with hate and anger. "Fun with?! What in Hells do you mean?!" He narrowed his false blue eyes.
"They enhanced you. You are the one they were more forcused on... You are what they're after, Sephiroth..." Hojo shrugged, staring at Sephiroth with his bare eyes; his glasses found a nice resting spot further down his nose.
Sephiroth growled. "Go on..."
"There isn't anything more to say..." Hojo backed off. "I want nothing to do with you anymore, now please excuse me... I have pupils to attend to..." He started to walk away, turning his back on his enemy. If his Master were to see him do that, he would've gotten twapped with a thin little whipping-stick... But his Master was long dead now. Hojo sighed. Those good ol' days were all gone...
"Hojo!"
"Ahhhhhh.......!" What could she want now? Hojo got to his feet from his desk and walked over to a young woman playing with electronics.
"I can't get this.... to work right!" She pushed the on button, but all that happaned with the piece of junk was a slight humm and a choke noise before it died.
Hojo snickered. "I don't know what to tell you, Michelle... Maybe..." he grinned as he started to walk to his desk, "...you're not doing it right. So, try it again! Back to work with you!" He sat in his desk chair and started to type something.
"Great Gods!!! You're such a jerk!" Michelle sat down and started to take the machine apart.
"It's the only way you'll learn..." Hojo sat, not looking over to her. She was such a thick-skulled student. Not only did she never grasp the concept, but she always made the same mistakes over and over and over again. He couldn't wait to get her out of his sight.
"Professor... what are you doing?"
"None of your buisness... Stay focused!" She grunted in response and started to working on the pitiful hung of metal that was once a grade-A computer. Why was she so nosy? This was one reason why he didn't really enjoy working with younger people.
"It's about Sephiroth, isn't it? I saw him out there... I saw you and him talking..." She was talking with that cheerful tone of hers, then all noises of her working stopped. "Professor, why didn't he kill you?"
Hojo turned his chair and looked at her. "Because he didn't... I was lucky that time...." He tried to hide the venom he felt in his voice. She was only worried for her professor, right? "Michelle... I want you to try and stay away from Sephiroth..."
"Okay!" She said sweetly and started to go back to work. She was so... innocent and sweet. If he didn't know any better... He shook his head and turned back to his computer. Shin-Ra needed Sephiroth back. It was vital to the plan to get ultimate power back. Hojo himself didn't think this plan would really work. He tried their theories out in his head, but all that came out were distaster. None of the Shin-Ra members listened to him when he warned them, but so far, all is not turning out well. First plan did not work at all.... Just as Hojo procieved it...
