Chapter One: Reliving

Disclaimer: I noticed that I didn't put a disclaimer for prologue, so this is for da
prologue too. I do not own any of the FF7 characters...but I do own the
story...yadayadayada. You know the drill.

"Join AVALANCHE..."

"What? Join them? I don't think so."

"Join, or everything will have been in vain. It is crucial that you join them
as soon as you can."

Ugh...Rufus Shinra opened his sapphire eyes. Where am I?..aren't I dead? He wondered.
He clutched his head. Why did he have this throbbing headache? Then, all of a sudden,
images flashed throughout his mind and he remembered that he was alive again for a reason.
His eyes darted to the calendar for some unknown reason, but his eyes widened when he
realized it was only 1 day before Cloud and AVALANCHE bombed the mako reactor at sector
5..and fought Air Buster.

Rufus rubbed his eyes. Man, I don't wanna think about all this...I just wanna
sleep..he thought as he fell back into his bed, but his conscience told him he
couldn't afford to and so he got up, kicking his white sheets off of him. The young Vice
President of Shinra stretched and yawned. He felt like he had extreme sleep deprivation
and lazily looked at his digital clock. 8:10. No problem.

He threw off his pajamas, the ones with pictures of little fluffy bunnies on it, and
hit the shower. After showering, he donned his white suit/trenchcoat (does anyone know
what it exactly is? Looks like a white suit with a built-in trenchcoat thingy to me..) and
walked to his office.

"Good morning, sir." Tseng said as he greeted Rufus in his office. The other
Turks murmmered their greetings except for Rude who said "...."

"Good morning Turks." Rufus said, smirking as he sat down behind his desk. As
usual. "Have you recaptured the Ancient yet, Tseng?" Rufus asked, looking at the
leader of the Turks even though he already knew the answer. The long haired man hesitated
then said, "No, I'm afraid not yet, sir."

Rufus answered with only a nod and said nothing else. "Would you like us to
continue to search for the Ancient, sir?" Tseng asked. "No." Rufus said.
"It's alright." Reno looked at his Rufus like he had grown
another head.

"Boss, are you alright?" The red-haired man took a tentative step. "Yea,
I am." Rufus said, waving his hand dismissively and getting out of his chair and
looked out the window (you know, those windows that are practically the whole wall.) Tseng
gave Reno a "don't-push-it" look, but the other Turk ignored it. "You sure?
'Cause usually you'd just yell our heads off when we failed to do our mission." Rufus
just nodded. "I'm fine." He said, more forcefully and a hint of annoyance was in
his voice now. However, Reno just totally missed it, and said "You don't have a
fever, d-" and was cut off when the furious VP of Shinra Corp. turned around with a
vein popping out from his forehead. "I. AM. FINE. GOT IT?! I AM FINE! JUST DANDY! NOW
LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"

"Eeep, okay..." Reno said, taking a step back, cowering. Tseng and Elena just
sweatdropped at the two and Elena unconsciously took a step back. Boy, this Rufus has a
temper...! She thought.

"..." Was all Rude could say. He was staring intently at the dust in the air.


After calming down, Rufus sat back at his desk and flicked his hair aside. Damn, I
don't know what to do next. AVALANCHE and Cloud are gonna bomb Sector 5 tomorrow...I have
to be there. Question is, do I go join them as I am, or should I disguise myself?

AN: Sorry it's so short, but I really want your input on this one. Should Rufus just go
to AVALANCHE as he is and strike a deal with them, or should he disguise himself?
(<--if you think the latter would be too OOC for Rufus, I'll just twist it in a way so
that it won't be.) Speaking of OOC, sorry if any of the characters are OOC! I haven't
played the game in at least 2 years. -_-;;
