Diaries of a Friend: Hojo after Nibelhiem By: Silence

Hojo and other characters are property of SquareSoft I simply am using
these characters for a story of my own which ties in with my preplot of
FF7.

To know what happened at Nibelhiem that drove Hojo mad read my other
story Vincent: A Story Of One Man's Turn In Life. This is not like
traditional stories this one is in the form of Hojo's journal after the
incedent at Nibelhiem and his wanderings before returning to Shinra and
at it will have dialogue because in these journals Hojo wrote about his
most important moments and help him find his path to repent what he had
done to Vincent. The entries are written in the 1st person so he will
refer to himself as (me, my, I, ect..)

Our story begins after the incedent at Nibelhiem feeling remorse for
what he had done to his friend he set out to find a cure for Vincent so
he could free him and work together once again.

I ran from Nibelhiem knowing what had happened, Vincent had been infected
with the Jenova cells and the entity the other scientists and I had found
that if removed would have killed him we had no choice but to leave it in
and hope that it did not cause any major damage to him. I belive the cells
had mixed with the beast and the slide of his blood in the lab I knew he was
no longer human for he was now part beast and part Jenova clone I also knew
that what I had seen on the slide was not normal reaction to Jenova cells in
a normal human being for the cells had taken upon new forms and were changeing
at almost every moment. I knew that Vincent would also change so I had to
lock him up for the saftey of us all for if he had become a monster he would
endanger the lives of many and all of our work. When Sephiroth torched Nibelhiem
I knew I had to restrain Vincent then or never. Without a thought i swung at
him, I was stronger than I thought for he fell down with just one hit then I
took him to his room, then I had gone to the town to search for one of the coffins
to place him in so that if anyone should find him they wouldn't dare to open
a coffin that was locked away deep beneath a dark lifeless mansion. I had found
one in the houses of a child who had left and never returned to town and it was
rumoured that he had died so I took the coffin that was meant for him his name
was Cloud. I took it to Vincent's room and placed him into it for eternal rest
or untill I could somehow return him to his former self. I locked the door
and then locked up the key to his room in a safe in the upper-left part of the
mansion, I sealed up the safe with an experimental monster we had been working on
I also left the numbers of the combination scattered around the mansion for if
someone could find all of these and unlock the safe and defeat the monster then
surely they must know a way to help Vincent.

As I entered the town of Gongaga I was approached by a couple who had looked as
if something terrible had happened to their family I asked them what was wrong and
this is what the conversation was.

Hojo: What thing so wrong had happened to you that you must cry on this public road?

Woman: Our son he left to go join Soldier and he has not come home or written or even
contacted us in any way we fear the worst has happened to him.

Hojo: What was his name I work for Shinra I was a scientist in Nibelhiem till the
recent tragedy that befell the town I had many briefings with those from Soldier I
looked through the lists and talked to almost everyone of them personnally maybe I
met him before and recently a new Soldier had come to town with Sephiroth maybe it was
him?

Man: His name is Zack he looks like this.(hands Hojo a photograph of his son.)

Hojo: Hmm this looks boy looks like a child that was once lived in Nibelhiem he too
left to join Soldier and was never heard of again, and I do remember seeing the new Soldier
before I had left on my leave while they stayed at the mansion and he looked just like
your son and a boy who looked like him about his age was one of the guards but I had left
and do not know all the details so I am afraid that if it was your son then I do not know what
happened to him but if he survived and he was your son he might come home for resting up
if he was in the town during its burning then I fear he shall not return.

Man: Thank you for bringing us hope even if so small the fact he may still be alive and near
makes us think he may visit.

Woman: Come stay at our house for the night it is getting late and we wish to hear more of
your news from Nibelhiem.

Hojo: If it is your wish then I shall tell you though I do not know much I may know the most
of all in that town who were not the visiters. In the morning I shall take my leave I must go
to Wutai to look for thier spiritual guideance and in hopes of them having a way to help a
friend of mine still in Nibelhiem who did not die but may be in danger of loseing his life
but I do not have a ship.

Man: A ship you say? A man in town recently came to our little town and he came on a plane
he is staying at the inn if you speak with him he may decide to help you and fly you around
he looks like he needs an andventure so I think he will be up for it.

Hojo: What is his name?

Man: Cid.

Tonight I spoke more with the couple of the events in Nibelhiem although I did not tell them
of Vincent for I dont want many to know of what could be if I can prevent it somehow. In the
morning I must speak with this Cid I shall tell him about Vincent and hope he is up for helping
me for he may be my only hope.

Hojo: So you are Cid are you not?

Cid: Why yes I am what is it to you?

Hojo: I need you to fly me to Wutai on your plane I seek the spiritual guidance of the ninjas
who live there for my friend is in trouble I only need you to fly me to Wutai after that I shall
pay you if need be.

Cid: Umm you say it is to help a friend yes whats happened to him?

Hojo: I was afraid you would ask me that you see I cannot tell you much I can only say that if he
is not helped then there could be horrible things that are released upon the world for he has been
in a way corrupted by his work and i fear he is dangerous to the people in his current unstable
state.

Cid: That is enough for me I shall give you a ride for free over to Wutai for its not very far by
plane and I have always wanted to see some of the great relics of the town. When do you wish to go?

Hojo: As soon as we can for I want to help him before he is taken over by what could be called a
demon to the world.

Cid: Go to my plane I shall meet you there in a short time I must pay my bill and pack i shall be
there soon.

Hojo: Please let me bay your bill here at the inn in return for the trip. I must repay you somehow.

Cid: Fine if you feel you must go ahead I will not stop you.

I payed his bill though it was kind of high it was 10,000 gil. They must have charged him for the
parking of the plane as well for he had left it in their crop fields. We left and headed to Wutai
the trip was longer than I had expected for his plane was small and though in good shape it wasnt
very fast.

When we arrived in Wutai again he parked really bad he had first parked on a cliff which we couldn't
get off of then he parked it right on the sacred mountain with the stone face carvings. I felt another
high bill coming up. First thing I did was ran to the Emperor's Royal House, to appologize for Cid's
plane I spoke with him a bit and then I told him of Vincent and he said it would take some time but I
would have to stay here and learn their ways and become accepted by their gods. He invited me to
stay at his daughter's house at the entrance to town while I was in town, him being the village's
Emperor I did not argue at the solution or my lodgings, for his daughter Yuffie had a small house with
the Side house filled with an amazing amount of cats I do not think I will go in there again for quite
some time but it also seems they worship the cat in a way here so I must deal with it.

On an expedition today I lost my journals from the past year so ill just update this with brief notes.
Today I had to go through one of the fire caves on the mountain to earn respect from their water god
Leviathan and I lost hold of my bag and with it my journals of the last year had been burned in the fire
they said a sacrifice would be made but I didn't think it would be my only records of my year in Wutai.
On a good note it was the last of the gods and I was glad it was all over I now have the trust of the
gods of Wutai and it is said that a sign will be sent to me in my dreams on what I should do and on the
condition of Vincent, I sure do hope the last year has been good to him and hasn't caused any pain.

My dreams were saddening last night in them I had returned to Shinra reporting that no sign of Vincent
remains and that one of his finest scientists has died for sure. As for Vincent all I had seen was him in his
room he awakened once and then just got back into his coffin shut the lid and never came out I fear he has died
and that the gods of Wutai failed me for I was wishing for Vincent to live and to fulfill his dreams of being
something more than a scientist in Shinra maybe go back to being a Turk or maybe going to Soldier he never
told me which he wished to do. I shall say my goodbyes and leave for when I wasn't gaining trust I built myself
a boat down at the southern part of the land and the only way to the ocean by boat.

Journal #13 since Nibelhiem my days have been long on boat it has been one month on the ocean in a small boat
I see land ahead and cliffs, Cosmo Canyon shouldn't be far away maybe I can find a new some new specimens there
ahhh it's been so long since i have done my work as a scientist I just hope I can find an interesting species
around here.

Just around Cosmo Canyon I have found a unique creature it seems to be the last of it's kind for I have never
seen such a creature it is some sort of a cat beast and yet it just dosn't seem right seems to be some kind of
failed subspecies and I feel I must study this creature for it's rarity alone shall bring me back into the
honors of the President I dont think he will like me showing up after 13 months of absence. This monster has a
red coat I shall name him Red 13 Red for his coat and 13 for the number of months since I set out to help
Vincent I shall like to belive that Vincent stayed in that room not only for the locked door but that he might
have known why I put him there maybe after a while realizing what had happened and then giving himself up for
the greater good. This creature I shall credit to Vincent for if it wern't for him I would have never set out
on this crazy quest I had and if I hadn't gone I would have never found Red 13.

Journal #13 It has been a long time since I have wrote in this journal and I have no more about this subject
of Vincent besides that it was seen that a man who looks like Vincent he even has the arm is ascending the
cannon tower with his new friends, It has been about 3 years since I found Red 13 and now it seems that he and
Vincent have teamed up along with that boy Cloud, the girl Yuffie, the pilot Cid, the bar girl from the slums
of Midgar who I met briefly before, the traitor Cait Sith a robot being controled by one of our own, and a
resistance member of Avalance who started this all Barret. It seems that now I not to live for they are coming
for me Vincent must hate me for what I had done though it seems that he was not dead only in a deep sleep which
helped him control his powers he now transforms into beasts of all types and has a firm control over them and
I can't help thinking what part I had in his existance like he is today I was the one experimenting with the cells,
I was the one who let him become infected both by the monster and the cells, and I was the one to give him the
means to be a great fighter getting the gun from the President and Vincent is now excellent with his gun he now
is an amazing man who despite his arm and his beast side he has overcome many things this man who thought he was
nothing and then odd things twisted his fate into this I am now ready to die Vincent come and do what I had done
to you end my life as I ended yours take my life. I hate myself now that I had given up on you Vincent thought you
were dead and left you there. And you Red 13 I started this journal with you and my life without Vincent with you
and now you as well should end my life. I experimented with you took you from your home all because I wanted fame.
COME TO ME VINCENT, AND RED 13 COME TO ME AND END MY LIFE AS I ENDED YOURS KILL ME NOW AND YOU SHALL HAVE YOUR
REASON TO LIVE BEYOND ALL HOPES AND I AM READY TO DIE NOW COME KILL ME I DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE WITH WHAT I HAVE DONE
TO BOTH OF YOU.



Well thats the end of story #2 I know I promised a Yuffie story but I just couldn't come up with one yet and I figured
that a Hojo story is more unlikely and this explains a few things of how i think they could have happened possibly. I
do think that my next story will be of Yuffie P.O.V. starting with when Hojo comes to Wutai it will fill in the missing
year of Hojo's Diaries and will also continue as a side story during the time of FF7.
