Prologue: Anxiety

I'm a tactician. That's all I can really say about myself. I'm only 16, I don't fight, and I don't kill people; I'm just a tactician. I live in Frelia, alongside many Pegasus mounted soldiers. In fact 67% of Frelians are Pegasus riders. A lot of soldiers are Wyvern Knights. I've had an immense fear of Wyverns since I was little. A Wyvern bit my uncle's arm off. Still, my uncle continues to fight as a proud one-armed Wyvern Rider of Frelia.
I'm always teased. In school, I take sticks (and occasional feathers, fallen off Pegasus) and use them as soldiers. They always get themselves into bad situations. When I do this at school, the other kids act like I'm a baby.

“Look at widdle Maxy-waxy pwaying with his widdle dollies”
“Hey, stickboy, get a life!”

I just wish people would call me Max, not “Widdle baby” or anything like that. The story with my parents is a long one… my father was a man named Gilliam. He fought in a war against the evil demon king, before I was born. Before the war started, he met my mom, and made her pregnant. She was only 14.
Now, my Dad is off working in a far off continent which I think starts with an “E”… Since my mother's only 22, she's one of the Pegasus knights of Frelia. I don't know why anybody needs armies anymore. All the vile monsters were banished from Magvel, and there's no threat to anyone's safety.

I've recently been recruited by the UMTM (United Mock Tacticians of Magvel), which is an organization that partners two tacticians together, gives them troops, and has the different teams fight eachother. The weapons that the soldiers use aren't lethal though, only half metal. I'm waiting at the UMTM Headquarters. I supposed to meet my partner in an hour. I heard rumors that she's a girl; the only girl ever to be recruited by UMTM (I find that hard to believe).

Carcino has attacked. I can't write any more, I have to go.
