Flame Of Recca Fan Fiction ❯ Unexpected ❯ Lunch Ch.4 ( Chapter 4 )
Chapter 4- Lunch
(Koganei's P.O.V.)
Koganei was dead tired so he dropped onto his bed and lay there. He didn't get much sleep when he crashed the night at Recca's house. The fact that he played games with Domon and Recca the entire time while being given food by Yanagi-chan was too fun to let down. And while the guys began to fight over the last chip causing Fuuko to angrily throw a punch at Domon, sleeping was definitely not an option. He chuckled; boy did he miss them. It if wasn't for them he wouldn't have come here at all. His eyes began to grow dark with sadness as he recalled the reason why he had left after the Ura Buto Sajin in the first place.
/Flashback/
He had just left the celebrating Hokage team and was on his way out of the Ura Buto Sajin arena. He didn't want to leave, but he had no choice. They would after all be better off without him. Who needed a boy like him anyways? Like Kurei, the only reason they let him in was because they needed someone to fight for them. Nobody cares for me. I actually had thought Kurei cared for me as a brother, but that was a mistake. It was painfully clear that he didn't give a damn about me, and was only interested in my fighting potential. That time if Recca wasn't there to save me, I definitely would've been a goner. Well screw him, and everybody else. I don't need anyone to take care of me. I'm tired of being used as a fighting tool. I'll show them that I can survive on my own. And so he left without a trace leaving the confused Hokage team to worry about his sudden disappearance.
/End Flashback/
Tears began to well up in the young boy's eyes as he stared angrily at the ceiling. He then slowly closed them and fell into a deep slumber. Long wet trails of tears could be seen traveling down across his smooth, pale cheeks.
~In Tokiya's room~
(Tokiya's P.O.V.)
How did I get myself into this mess? I ask myself for the hundredth time. I never asked for this, but here I am stuck with one of the monkeys I try so much to stay away from. *sigh what did I do to deserve this? Now my time alone will be forever interrupted by a boy I don't even want staying in my house. All because I picked up the phone and got myself into a mess I had no say in. Those Hokage monkeys will pay dearly for their unwanted interruption.
He walked to the chair placed across the room and sat down. There was a little table by it, which held his Ensui. He lightly fingered the object that had cost him his sister's life. He hadn't used it since the Ura Buto Sajin because it seemed there was no need for it. Yanagi-san's life has not been endangered ever since, but it didn't mean he wasn't prepared to use it when the time call for it. Ensui will always be a part of his life. The price for his madougu was costly and he will always remember his sister's fatal attempt to save his life because of it. His dreams of her death will haunt him forever. He could never forgive himself though. He had failed in his sister's revenge. If he had known his sensei was behind this whole ideal, he could've done something for her. At least take revenge, but even so he wasn't able to do it. He combed his hands through his hair and leaned back onto his chair letting his painful memories engulf him once more.
~12:30 pm~
Tokiya who had unconsciously fallen asleep on his chair was easily interrupted by loud, incessant knocks at the door. "What is it this time?" he grumbled as he painstakingly rose off his chair. Sitting the position that he did, left his back and neck aching from mistreatment. He walked to the front door and opened it. Before he knew it he was pushed aside by a bunch of people and his quiet house was bombarded with a noise that made the silver hair boy groan from a headache that had suddenly threatened to overcome his head.
"Hey Mi-chan!!!" screamed the violet-haired tomboy as she roughly latched her arm around the older boy shoulders causing him to lose his balance.
Two guys, one enormously huge compared to the other, were both screaming at each other at the top of their lungs. It oddly sounded something like "You overgrown Mongolian Mohawk!" and "Shut up you ninja wannabe!"
While another girl, who had her auburn hair tied into a ponytail and was wearing a pink uniform was trying very hard to balance the high pile of bentous she made for the occasion.
Following her was a young woman who slipped quietly in the house. She was examining the place and at the same time keeping a watchful eye on her son whom seemed to have gotten into yet another fight with Domon.
Right behind her was a little blond girl with a stuffed fox on her shoulder, she was skipping around the house and curiously taking in the empty decorated house. She then asked, "Where's Koganei?"
As if it was his cue, Koganei suddenly appeared looking like he had just woken up. His hair if even possible was a bigger mess than it was before and he let out a loud yawn that contributed to the volume of noise that had overcome the house.
~20 minutes later~
Things seemed to have finally settled down. Yanagi who successfully placed her bentous into the kitchen without dropping any asked Koganei if he was hungry.
"Hey you little brat. How is Ice Man treating ya?" asked Recca who gave a smirk because he had won the fight with Domon. Using his ninja skills he secretly tripped the overgrown man, which resulted in having him fall face down onto the living room floor.
"All right I guess," replied Koganei as he began to dig into the delicious bento Yanagi had made for him. He then gave her a smile revealing two pointed teeth to show his appreciation.
Tokiya and Fuuko were sitting on the living room couch. Tokiya was sitting quietly watching the boy eat. He felt somewhat guilty because he had completely forgotten to get food for the boy when it was clearly time for lunch. Good thing Yanagi-san was there. He promised himself to be more responsible. Whether he liked it or not Koganei was his guest after all.
Ganko and Kando were sitting on the kitchen table already eating their bentous. (can a stuff animal actually eat food?) "This bento is sooo good!" cried Kando as he continued to stuff his face with onigiri and egg. This caused Yanagi to blush.
Recca caught this and gave a smile. He walked over to his Hime and said to everyone, "Of course, my Hime is the best cook there is!" which caused the girl to blush even harder. Tokiya rolled his eyes in disgust. He could never understand what Yanagi saw in that sea monkey.
Domon while struggling to get on his feet he accidentally grabbed Fuuko's foot in the process. "What are you trying to do?!" cried Fuuko and she kicked him in the face, knocking him unconscious on the floor.
"You know Mi-chan your house is empty, why don't you put more decorations or something" said Fuuko as she looked around the place.
"I like my house fine the way it is, monkey," said the now cold-eyed boy.
"Geez, don't have to get all mean about it," she replied as she walked up to Yanagi to receive her bento.
All the while Kagero-san who was leaning against the wall, had watched the entire scene. Hmm, it seems Mikagami-san is still mourning over his sister. His place reeks of loneliness and pain. He really should have somebody to show him what life is all about. At the same exact moment, Koganei who had already finished his bento, picked up another one and walked towards the sitting Tokiya.
"Here Tokiya, you should eat. It isn't good to skip lunch," said Koganei as he gave the box to him and gave him an innocent smile revealing his trademark teeth. Tokiya was surprised at the least, but he quickly replaced it with a cold mask to prevent anyone from seeing his brief show of emotion. He took the box and nodded.
On the other hand, two people witnessed this, the woman who was leaning against the wall, and unexpectedly the man who was laying unconscious on the floor at the time. It seemed he was now waking up from his kick in the face and happened to catch the ice man's face change from impassive to surprise and confusion. What is going on here? The ice man is actually showing emotions? Fuuko must've kicked me harder than I thought. And so the huge guy shook his head and hurriedly got a bento box to quiet down his growling stomach.
