On the Hunt

“We fucked up, didn't we?” Mayuka asked.

“Yeah,” Haruko said. They lay there in the middle of the empty street. Haruko jumped to her feet.

“Time to get her back,” she said. She held out her hand. Mayuka looked up at her for a moment.

“Oh,” she said. Mayuka took her hand.

“Let's go,” Haruko said.

“Yeah,” Mayuka said. The women walked down the road.

They were going to need to get some backup. They didn't have much, but they knew how to work it. After all, the girls had Canti and Naota.

“What?” he asked. Haruko grabbed him by the hands.

“Please?” she asked. The boy was confused at first.

“What do you mean she's gone?” he asked.

“She's gone!” Mayuka shouted. “They took Mina. She's gone, man! She's gone!” Naota blinked at her.

“Uh… Who? Why?” he asked. The girls looked at each other.

“Um…” Haruko said.

“Bad people!” Mayuka said. “Really bad people!” Naota frowned. The girls looked at each other. This wasn't working.

“Now what?” Mayuka's eyes asked. Haruko leaned in closer. She batted her eyelashes.

“Please?” Haruko asked. “Pretty please?” Naota tried to look away. However, it didn't take much. Soon, the team was ready. Yet, that was the easy part.

“Where exactly are we going?” Naota asked. The girls said nothing. Naota smacked himself on the forehead.

“Geez,” he said. Mayuka perked up as she realized something.

“Oh! I know what to do,” she said. The demon girl pulled out a bright yellow whistle and blew it. They vanished in a flash.

Meanwhile, Mamimi sat under the bridge, smoking in her usual spot. She happened to look up when something caught her attention.

“Hm?” she asked. The girl walked over for a closer look.

“Oh, hello,” Mamimi said.
