A/N: Yes the next chapter! I'm so excited. Yay! Lol the story goes deeper. Thanks for reading the first chappy and for reviewing! I won't talk any longer here's chapter II.

 

Chapter II: The Start of a Confusing relationship

Katrina woke up to a voice talking. “Well she's a pretty one.” A man said somewhere above her. Her eyes flew open. A black haired man stood above her. She screamed and quickly backed up into a wall.

 

“Shigure you pervert, what are you doing to her?” An orange haired boy ran into the room. Katrina backed up even farther, so she was pretty much, in a ball.

 

“Where am I? Who are you people?” She was scared and her asthma started acting up. She couldn't breathe, gasping for breathe she fumbled around in her pockets looking for her inhaler. It wasn't there! Suddenly someone shoved an inhaler in her mouth. She breathed in the medicine deeply and started to breathe slower again. She looked up. “Yuki!”

 

Yuki smiled. “I'm sorry about my perverted cousin.” He whacked the black haired man upside the head. Katrina looked around. The people around her looked barley anything like Yuki. It seemed impossible that they were related.

 

“Only a little bit. But where am I?” Yuki smiled. All of the sudden Katrina felt something in her stomach. Something that she never felt before. (A/N and no it's not a stomachache Lol.) An exhilarated feeling.

 

“You're at my house of course! The nurses said that you could leave so I took you back here.” Yuki answered her question perfectly like the perfect guy he pretends to be. Though he denies being perfect, she knows he is. Katrina gave him a dazzling smile. After all, she owes him her life. Literately.

 

“Well Yuki, aren't you going to introduce us? I mean honestly how rude can you be?” said the black haired man. “I would surely like to know who this beautiful flower is!” Yuki and the orange haired boy hit the black haired man.

 

“You pervert! Who would want to meet you?!” The orange haired boy said.

 

“Katrina, the orange haired one is Kyo, he's going to start going to school with us soon. The one lying on the floor, whom I am embarrassed to say I'm related to, is Shigure.” Katrina smiled. She thought the black haired--Shigure, was actually pretty funny.

 

“Hi, it's nice to meet you both!” The door to the room opened, and in stepped a brunet haired girl.

 

“Is everything all right I heard screaming?” Katrina was dumb founded.

 

“Tohru?” Tohru turned toward her.

 

“Katrina? When did you get here?” All three boys looked from Tohru to Katrina.

 

“I should ask you that same question.” Katrina knew Tohru from her class in school. They weren't best friends or anything. But they were friends.

 

“Oh yes, I'm sorry to both of you. Katrina Miss Honda has been living with us for I while. I'm sorry I never told you. And Miss Honda, Katrina will be staying with us for a while. I hope you don't mind.”

 

Tohru gave a great big smile to Yuki, and Yuki smiled back at her with his dazzling smile. Katrina felt a jab of jealousy. `Wait a minute, why am I jealous. Were just friends. That's all. Friends!' She thought. But why didn't he tell her before that Tohru was living with him? `He probably just forgot to mention it, that's all. Plus I shouldn't be worrying about it. It'll just stress me out.' Katrina was pulled from her thoughts by Tohru saying, “Why would I mind? Katrina's one of my friends.”

 

Kyo and the…………..Perverted guy left the room. “Tohru, what's burning?” said someone from in the hallway.

 

Tohru gasped. “Oh no! The stew!” She ran out of the room.

 

“Katrina I'm sorry I never told you that Miss Honda was living here, before now. It's a long story, but pretty much she kind of showed up at our door step.” Yuki said finally after a long silence.

 

“It's ok. I was just surprised is all. But does she know about the curse?” Yuki nodded.

 

“That's why she's still staying with us. Akito approved of her staying, but I can't help to think that he's planning something for her. But I just don't know what.” Katrina sat up. For once in a long time she didn't feel a sharp pain or dizziness in her head. Yuki looked at her, concern written across his face.

 

“I'm fine Yuki. Thank you so much for taking care of me. But I have to go and pack up my stuff.” Tears filled her eyes and she quickly turned away from Yuki. He took her chin and turned her to face him. He wiped the tears from her face.

 

“But where are you going to go?” He asked as he pulled her close, but not close enough so that he would transform. She quickly, but gently, pushed him away and stood up.

 

“I don't know. But I do know something, this is just the beginning. And that`s what scares me.”

“I'm fine Yuki. Thank you so much for taking care of me. But I have to go and pack up my stuff.” Katrina said to him. Yuki looked at her and noticed her eyes fill with tears. He felt a stab of sorrow and hurt hit him. He realized she didn't want to stay here with him. And he hated to see her cry. He grabbed her chin and turned her toward him.

 

“But where are you going to go?” He asked, hinting that she should stay with him. He took her and pulled her closer to him, but he didn't want to transform so he left some space. But she quickly pushed him away and got up. He felt embarrassed for let his feelings take over his movements. She obviously didn't like him like that. But whatever it took, he would not give up trying to be with her.

 

“I don't know. But I do know something, this is just the beginning. And that`s what scares me.” And with that, she left the room. Yuki didn't go after her. He just sat and puzzled over what she had just said. What did she mean this was just the beginning? And why did it scare her? Katrina was like that. She said the most confusing things, then would just leave and let him think about it. Yuki thought about the day they first met. It was when they were kids. The same day he first met Tohru, but he never told her that.

 

(Flash back)

 

Yuki had gone down to the park by himself to swing on the swings. He had Kyo's red hat in hand. He didn't know how he was going to give it back to him since the cat hated him. But Yuki didn't hate Kyo. He admired him.

 

As he swung he thought about the cat. The cat was free to go where ever. Not like Yuki. Yuki was stuck in the main house with Akito. The person his parents sold him too. Yuki had run after Kyo when Kyo had dropped his hat. And as Yuki was about to give it back to him. He ran away. Yuki ran after him as long as his asthma-affected lungs would let him. Then he had come to the park.

 

Yuki thought back to Akito. He would be furious at Yuki for leaving the main house and probably would put him in that `special' room he saved just for Yuki. Yuki started to cry. He hated his life. Hated it with all his heart. As he moved to wipe off his face, the hat flew out of his hands and the wind carried it away. He jumped from the swing and started to run after it, he saw a girl with bright reddish/ orangeish hair that looked like fire pick it up. He ran up to the girl. She had bright blue eyes that looked like they were pieces of the sky.

 

“Is this yours?” she asked. He nodded. The girl looked familiar. Like he had seen her somewhere before. But he couldn't figure out where. She handed him the hat. “I'm Katrina Sohma! Nice to meet you.” She said. Yuki gasped. That's where he had seen her. She lived on the `inside' with her parents……….what were their names again?

 

“I'm Yuki Sohma. You live right by me.”

 

She giggled. “That's right. I thought I'd seen you before. Let's be friends!”

 

“Ok!”

 

She jumped up and down and hugged him. *Poof* Katrina had become taller and he knew he had transformed. But instead of backing away screaming, she laughed and picked him up. “You're the rat? That's so cool. I'm the year of the rat too!”

 

(End of Flash back)

 

From that day on, they were best friends. Then Yuki slowly started to have feelings for her. That meeting had changed him. Katrina didn't act scared, all she did was laugh. They were connected, in a way Yuki couldn't explain. But no matter how hard he tried, Katrina always walked away from him. He wanted to move their relationship up another step. He wanted to be more then friends. This was his chance. He had to go after her. He had to have her with him. He would catch her before she went anywhere. Yuki grabbed his coat, ran out the door, and caught a cab and went after her.
