A few days later everything seemed to go back to normal. Or as normal as it could possibly get, and of course by this time the girls found out about the Zodiac curse. All except Jackie and Trinity, they maintained distance from each other as much as possible. "Well it looks like the new vegetables are well on there way and the weather man said it wont rain till tomorrow." Yuki said happily. Shigure and Kyo were sitting on the porch and Trinity was staring at the sky watching the clouds. "Hey um, Trinity would you? Um… never mind." Yuki was starting to blush and looked away. Trinity smiled and looked at Yuki, "Will I what Yuki?" Yuki looked at her again and smiled politely, "Would you go with me to the movies with me tonight?" Trinity couldn't help but smile widely and blush, "Sure! It's a date!" Shigure looked toward Yuki and Trinity and sighed. "Well while you guys are at the movies, Kyo and I have some business to discuss with Akito so someone will have to tell Jackie she's going to be solo for the night." Shigure looks towards Kyo who was already getting up. "Wow, no rude comment today? No freezing up? Are you feeling ok Kyo?" Kyo stopped in his tracks, "huh? Oh, yah I'm fine… I was just going to check up on her that's all." Shigure grinned slyly and went back to watching Trinity and Yuki, who started talking about what to plant in the garden next.

Kyo walked to the side of the house where Jackie was lying down. She looked as if she was a carved statue starring at flowers and listening to the sounds that were made by every part of nature. The only thing that gave her away as real was the steady breathing and the tanned color of her skin. Kyo couldn't help but stare at her. Jackie flinched as if she was stung by something and looked at Kyo. "You know your holding your breath right?" Kyo jumped when she spoke and then smiled. "Sorry didn't realize I was, can I sit down?" Jackie got up and sat in a normal, "Last time I checked it was your house not mine so do what ever you want." Jackie said with a faint smile. "Remember that time you asked if I was scared of wear wolves?" Kyo asked. That got her full and complete attention and Kyo noticed that this time she was the one holding her breath. Jackie fidgeted but held her gaze toward his, "Oh I'm sorry didn't I say yes? Okay, yes." Kyo smiled at that he didn't think she'd forget something like that. "Well I was thinking about it and…" Kyo held the last words for a while to see what Jackie would do. Sure enough she didn't disappoint him, "Well what!! Come on I need to know! I mean I err never mind you don't have to tell me." Jackie said as she turned her gaze away from Kyo. "I'm not… if I ever meat one I'd like to get to know it better." Kyo looked at Jackie who was staring at him now as if he said something unbelievable. "So you'd like to get to know me better? My kind?" Kyo looked into her eyes, "So that's why you wanted to know I see now… so exactly how old are you and can you change?" Kyo said excitedly like a child getting a present. Jackie smiled at that, "I am seventeen thousand years old and yes I can change but…" Kyo waited patiently for the answer, funny since he usually hates being held in suspense. "But what?" Jackie looked away from him, "Well I'm kind of a different breed of wear wolf the first and last of my kind you see I'm an outcast, not human not wear wolf, just something that'll never be accepted. All because I have three tails instead of one…" Kyo smiled happily, "I'm an outcast too! No room for a cat in the zodiac so… were the same yet very different it's destiny that we even met I mean I accept you, I wouldn't care if you had five tails it wouldn't have made a difference." Jackie blushed, "Have we met before? It's funny I feel like I already know you." Kyo smiled and looked to the sky, which was a beautiful blue with few clouds in sight. "Funny… I feel the same… Oh yah I have to go with Shigure to talk to the head of our family so… your going to have to be alone for a while is that ok?" Jackie stood up and stretched. Kyo couldn't help but watch all the muscles tense up and then relax, like a big cat would. "It's fine with me I can take care of myself… is it true Trin is going out with Yuki tonight? I mean not that I care but…" Jackie sat back down still not looking at Kyo. "Yah that's one of the reasons were going to Akito about, I mean think about it a zodiac going out with a normal human princess." Jackie looked at him and giggled lightly, "You guys think she's human? Man, are you guys out on the loop! Ha she's no more human than I am!" Kyo had a shocked look on his face, "Trin is a wear wolf?" Jackie looked at him and smiled, "No, no, Let me explain Trin is something like an, hmm… how do I put this? A… um… oh! I got it! Like a fairy princess but without wings." Kyo got up and stretched just as Jackie had a few minutes ago and smiled. "Well now this is really interesting well the sooner I leave the sooner I can get back and learn more so you be careful ok?" Jackie got up and glared at him, "I don't need you to tell me what to do and I don't care if any of you come back soon. It's like I said before, I can take care of myself!" Jackie said defensively. "Don't get all paranoid that's my job. So why don't you go fetch a stick or something?" Kyo countered. "I'm not a dog! I'm a wolf!" Kyo took a stepped forward, "And the difference is what?" Jackie bared her teeth and let out something like a growl, "Well then you're a bigger moron than I thought you were!" Kyo took a step closer to where he way face to face with her, "And then what dose that make you? An over used warrior-servant to fairies and their offspring? I mean gees! Seventeen-thousand years and you haven't had a life of your own, probably never got a boyfriend," "Stop it Kyo!" Jackie clenched her fist to where she can feel her nails digging into her skin, "No thoughts of your own safety right? It's always protect others or you've failed?" She was shaking with rage now, "Kyo I said stop!" "What's the matter am I getting too close to the truth!" "Kyo!!" Jackie's fist came so close to hitting its target but Kyo stopped it before it hit him. Before Jackie can say another word Kyo covered his mouth with hers. Jackie couldn't help but respond to the force of it, She gave in and closed her eyes feeling something she'd never wanted to experience, the need, Was it his? No… Hers… something she'd always tried to escape, has finally broke through its' icy cage with the help of this man, All the passionate fire, her heart kept beating faster and faster all because of Kyo… So this is love? Kyo stopped, released her hand and backed away Jackie opened her eyes and felt as if she were seeing everything for the first time after being blind for so long. "Jackie I… I didn't mean… what I said." Jackie could feel the tears burning in her eyes but successfully overpowered that emotion, since she'd promised herself she'd never cry again. "I-It's ok, you were right I never cared but now… Why?" Kyo looked into her eyes and took her hand from her side and covered it with his, "Why what?" Jackie looked away from him, "Why do you care about me? I don't… I don't… deserve" "Jackie… stop" "but Kyo it's true I don't deserve you!" Kyo cupped her face in the other hand and held it to where she couldn't help but look at him, "Jackie enough! I love you and your not going to leave me you got it!" "Kyo you stupid cat! It's time to go!" Shigure called. Kyo released her hand and face then looked toward where Shigure called then back to Jackie. "Promise you'll be here when I come back." Jackie looked at Kyo with an awkward stare, "Kyo…" "Promise me Jackie or I'm staying!" "Kyo I promise." With that Kyo kissed her again and then walked away not looking back as he left.
