Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ A Wolfs' Cry ❯ Chapter 9
"What a pain! I can't believe one wolf can kill so many people!" A guy said. "Well at least we caught her right?" the other said. "I guess so it's too bad she changed back into a human because it's going to be harder to show what she really is, and of course since she's nearly dead! Whose idea was it to shoot her threw the heart!" Barely regaining consciousness Jackie could hear the footsteps coming closer to where she was and the other walk away. She tried to move but what ever was tied around her body kept getting tighter and tighter making it extremely hard to even breath. She tried to open her eyes, which felt as if they were glued shut. Her vision was extremely blurry and the taste of blood lingered in her mouth. One of the guys walked to where Jackie was and to what Jackie can make out he was smiling. "So you decided to join the living did you? Boy, do I have a surprise for you!" Jackie's vision finally cleared and the guy in front of her was a tall muscular person tanned skinned, black hair, brown eyes and black hair kept in a mess. The bloodstains on his shirt meant he was one of the guys that broke into the house. Jackie let out something that sounded like a growl. "Easy girl if you haven't noticed yet your kind of, well, at a disadvantage. I mean think about it your rapped in chains, Have a muzzle around your mouth and you've been shot so many times you still have cuts! Kind of stupid if you ask me." He pointed out. "Well you do talk right?" He asked. Jackie just turned her head away from his gaze. "Oh, I see, you must be pretty ashamed you were outsmarted by none other tan humans huh? Oh well you were bound to be caught sometime… Oh yah and", "Shut up you idiot! Has anyone ever told you, you talk too much! Did they send you to torture me? Because you're doing a pretty good job of that!" He smiled, "I was told you were a real hot head, I guess they were right… As for my surprise you have been sold for four million dollars for experimental testing, isn't that great!" Jackie bared her teeth, "You jerk let me go! Or I swear I'll kill you!" *Smack! * He'd backhanded her before she can continue then he stood up angrily. Jackie tried to look away again but before she could he grabbed her hair in his hands and forced her to look at him. "You know one of the guys you killed was my friend! You're a monster! You didn't even give him a chance to fight back or run away!" Jackie smiled, "In battle why should I care who I kill? He made his choice by coming to get me with the rest of you didn't he? Ha, ha, if your so bent on joining him by all means do but yelling at me isn't going to bring you friend back… he was probably weak anyway." *Smack! * "Don't say that! You didn't even know him! I should kill you now while I have a chance!" The guy pulled out a gun and pointed it to her head. "This is for all the people you have killed you monster!" before he pulled the trigger other men's screams were echoing through the room. Then fell silent as if all but Her executioner and her were the only ones left. He turned to the door and then backed away. All the sudden a chorus of howls broke the silence. "Danget! You did this!" he turned to Jackie. "Alas! The stupid human is wrong. I can do no such thing." Jackie said with a grin on her face. He clenched his teeth and let out a curse, "Fine! I'll go check out side since I know you don't have the strength to break chains I think I'm safe in that area. The howls stopped as soon as he left but she could hear a familiar set of steps running toward her from the shadows. "Kyo!" she said joyfully. He looked as if he'd been running a long distance. Sweat dropped from his face as he took cautious steps toward her, "Jackie?" He said with a small smile of relief. "Yes it's me can you help get these off? I can't breath well you know." She grinned. Kyo walked toward her with something in his hand, "Keys?" Jackie asked. Kyo just grinned widely, "Yup! I jumped a guard luckily he was the right one he had the keys to a bunch of stuff so this'll take a little while I promise." Jackie laughed a little, "Well then what took you so long?" This made Kyo laugh to, "Yep, same Jackie. Ah! Got it." The chains fell to the floor like a blanket and then Kyo took off her muzzle. "Well umm… Jackie you might want to put these on if your going to continue staying in your human form." Jackie looked at Kyo who was blushing and handing her clothes. "Oh, right thanks Kyo ha, ha." Jackie began to bush too. After she got her clothes on the guy who was going to shoot her ran back in. "You! Die!" *Clack! * All the sudden Kyo appeared in front of her, "Kyo!!" Kyo fell backward into Jackie's arms. She eased him gently to the ground looking at the bullet wound. Through the heart Kyo put out his hand to touch Jackie's face, "Jackie… I love you…" Jackie touched Kyo's hand that was cold. "Kyo don't… Don't leave me…Kyo!!" Jackie can feel his spirit lift from his body and all she can do was stare at his body. A Puddle of blood spread where the body now lies. Jackie looked at the guy responsible who was now staring straight at her, "Now you feel loss…" With that said he place the gun to his head *Clack! * He fell to the ground with blood dripping down his face and his closed eyes. "I hope you go to join your friend now that you are at peace…" Jackie said. She looked at Kyo and felt her eyes burning… an old emotion she forced herself to forget. Tears fan down her face for the first time in years. She laid her head on Kyo's body and cried. Wolfs entered the room were Jackie and Kyo were and began to howl their mournful melody. Jackie jumped up in a realization, "Kyo I can save you! I can!" Jackie stood up and sang a song with words of a lost language. In that instant a bright lights filled the room, beautiful blues and greens, and colors of the sun flickered threw the openings and then disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
