Another day of school. Another day of boredom. I’m Tohru Honda. I go to school at the local community collage. I really want to become a vet. It might have something to do with the fact that my friends are cursed to turn into animals from the zodiac every time they are hugged by someone from the opposite gender.
I walk 2 miles every day to the school. A long way I know but its fun because I walk with my two friends Yuki and Kyo. I walk because one day a couple years ago my mom died in a car accident. I haven’t felt comfortable in cars since. I’ll ride in one if necessary, but I prefer not to. I love Yuki and Kyo! Yuki’s like a big brother to me and Kyo’s…..
“Miss Honda? Are you ok?” Yuki asked.
“Oh Yuki! I’m just thinking about how much that has happened since I’ve met you!” Tohru said.
“Yes quite a lot has happened. Would you like some tea or coffee?” Yuki asked.
“Your so lame you know that..?” Kyo said “c’mon lets get some tea!”


‘Man she’s so pretty..’ I think while dragging poor Tohru into the store.
We sit down and a waiter comes over. “What would ya’ like?”
“Three cups of cinnamon tea please.” Tohru says.
“Yes Madam” the waiter replied.
“Tohru?” I said.
“Yes?”
“Would you like to go with me to lunch?” I asked quickly.
“YES.. OF COARSE!!!” she yelled.
“Cool…..”
“That was some good tea wasn’t it Tohru?” I asked.
“Yes it was.. Did you like it Yuki?” she asked.
“Yes Miss Honda I did…” he replied, walking into the street. Just then I saw a car speed down the street.
“< i>YUKIIIIIII!!!” Tohru yelled. She ran to push him out of the way but he turned into a rat and Tohru got hit instead…… I couldn’t believe what was happening… everything was going so well….
“tohru……” I said weakly before falling…..
Tohru got in trouble because of me! I was sooooo…..
“YUKI! YOU- YOU- YOU STUPID IDIOTIC RAT!!!” figures it takes him a while to think of an insult……
“DON’T YOU YELL AT ME!!! DON’T YOU THINK I KNOW THAT I GOT HER HURT!!!!” I started to cry “I- SHE- SHE- WAS LIKE A SISTER TO ME… NO SHE WAS MY SISTER!!!!! I FEEL BAD ENOUGH WITHOUT YOUR IDIOTIC MOUTH SAYING IT!!!!” Kyo stared at me so shocked about the fact that I started to cry…..
Tohru sleeps deeply while in surgery. Not knowing of the guilt Yuki has, or the pain Kyo is in, or the grim faces of the doctors…. All she knows is that Yuki is safe….. And that makes her happy…..

“Are you sure that she will make it, Doctor?” a nurse asks.
“No, but all we can do is wait, hope, and pray for a miracle.” the Doctor replies. Kyo walks in.
“Doctor may I see her?” he asks.
“Yes, but don‘t be long.” and they leave the room.
Kyo walks over to Tohru. “I- I- I- Love you… I need you! You accepted me, even when you saw my true form… even when no one else would… Please…. Don’t go….” Kyo started to cry on her lap. “Please…. DON’T GO!!!!”
Tohru heard faintly. She heard but she wasn’t paying attention. She only saw one thing……. And it made her smile…..
