Chapter III: Farm Life, animals, and fun.
Wiled Acers Farm. Welaka, Fl.
"Kyle. Kyle, wake up. We're home. Ugh... get your lazy ass up NOW!" Paige yelled shoving her brother out of the truck and into the drive way.
"KYLE PRESCOTTI! Get up here boy!" A tall man in farm attire yell standing on the front porch of one of several houses scatted about the large space.
"Yes sir, I'm coming!"
"Paige!"
"Yes Daddy?"
"Them you friends?" the man asked nodding towards the Sohomas.
"Yes Daddy."
"Fine. Your Sister and her kids came down so they're in the guest house. So put 'em in the barn."
"Yes sir."
"As for you boy, what'd I tell you about them ATVs?"
"This could get ugly, come on."
"Alex! You where on then to get over here."
"Yes Sir Uncle Jeb. I'm coming." 'Paige you're gonna get it tomorrow.'
"I'm really sorry about this. I didn't know Stacy was coming or I would have told her to keep her 'lovable' children outta the guest house." Paige said as she and Kaity pulled out beds.
"Its all right. Need some help?"
"Depends, how good are you with a shot gun?"
"What!"
"I'm kidding, Haru. Breath dear."
"Right. Ouch! Who hit me?" Haru spun around and came face to face with an old milk cow.
"Moooo."
"Umm..."
"Mooooo." The cow nudged him again.
"OMG! Kaity how'd she get out?"
"How'm I supposed to know? This is why I didn't want to leave NYC, you don't have to worry about farm animals getting lose and harassing people."
"No you just have the weirdoes, freaks, and spawn of god only knows what. Wait that sounds like our family."
"That was actually really good." Kaity said laughing as she slipped a rope around the cow and led it off.
"Well, I think its safe to say things cant get much weirder. Sorry about that, this isn't even an animal barn, its dry storage. Stacy must have put that one up. Honestly she couldn't tell you the difference between a cow and her ass. And her husband's 'so' much smarter. He insists cow is spelled k-o-u."
"You don't like you're family very much do you?"
"Counting the days till I turn eighteen, then I'm outta here and never looking back. I told Kaity, that if she wanted to, we'd go to New York. I don't care where I go, I just want out. But it'll never happen." With that last line Paige got a look Haru had seen so many times, in the mirror.
"Why do you say that?"
"Haru, let's take a walk."
"You know how I said you didn't want to meet my family, but you wouldn't take no for an answer?"
"Yeah."
"Well it's because my family has a way of sucking people in and never letting go. Its a dark cloud that nobody canescape, family or not. And you where my first real friend, I don't want that to happen to you."
"What are you talking about Paige?"
"Just promise me you wont get to close to my family. They're like quicksand, once you're in you're screwed."
"OK, I can offer you the same advice, but I'll do one better. See we're all pretty much OK. Just don't spend to mush time with Ayame and Shigure, don't get Hatori angry, and if you ever meet Akito promise me you'll run as far away from him as you can get."
"OK."
"AHHH!"
"That sounded like Tohru."
'Oh god, please no.'
By the time Haru and Paige got to Tohru every one else was there to. She was sitting across from two bunny rabbits.
'Erik!' Paige thought
'Momiji!' Haru was fighting to keep control of his black side.
"Honda-san." Yuki said stepping forward.
"Uhh... hai."
Yuki held out his hand and helped her up, but she slipped and fell backwards. Haru stepped forward and caught her.
Poof
"What the!" Paige yelled.
"Umm..."
Poof. Poof. Poof.
There stood Hatsuharu, Momiji, and Brown haired boy with haunting grey eyes.
"Erik." Paige said stepping forward and wrapping a blanket around the seven year old.
"Well this is kinda awkward." Haru said picking up his shirt.
"Understatement." Kaity and Alex said.
Well the cats out of the bag. Things could get interesting. What happens next and who's Erik?
