So Happy Together

 

Kyo lay on the roof, staring up at the sky when he spotted a shooting star. Now, Kyo really isn't the type to “wish upon a star” so to speak, but this was a special occasion. He decided he would break his rules just this once.

 

`Tohru will say yes and everything will be fine,' he thought hopefully.

 

The star was gone from his sight but he had made his wish. Mission accomplished. Kyo got down off the roof and went into his room to get some sleep. Tomorrow was a big day after all.

 

The next day, Kyo awoke early as usual. He finished his daily calisthenics at around 7:00(AM that is) and walked toward the bathroom to take his shower when he heard some noise coming from downstairs. He smiled inwardly, knowing it was Tohru fixing up breakfast. Today was the day Kyo would ask her to be his girlfriend.

 

Kyo had to hurry if he wanted to leave for school without being seen. He had something he wanted to do. He was going to leave Tohru a note in her locker and he wanted her to receive it before school started.

 

After his shower, Kyo sprinted into his room and changed quickly into his school uniform. He crept down the stairs and out the door without Tohru noticing. `Yes!' Surprisingly, he didn't run into that perverted dog. `Today must be my lucky day,' Kyo thought to himself happily. He ran in the direction of school in case anyone saw him and decided it would be a good idea to drag him back inside.

 

He arrived at school and just in the nick of time. Other students were barely getting there and he knew that Yuki and Tohru would be following soon after. Kyo ran to Tohru's locker and slipped the note inside.

 

“What's that, Kyo,” came a high-pitched, singsong voice. Kyo turned around slowly, knowing exactly whom that voice belonged to. He began to open his mouth but before he could speak the `voice' chirped up again.

 

“It's a love note isn't it,” Momiji teased.

 

“Who's it for,” came another voice. It was Haru.

 

“None of your business, cow,” Kyo yelled. “And you, Momiji, get the hell out of my face before I get really annoyed.” Kyo stormed off to the roof forgetting about class.

 

He was on the roof brooding when the bell rang for lunch. Kyo's ears perked up. `I have to go meet Tohru,' he thought with a smile. Kyo dashed down the stairs and on to Tohru's locker. There she was standing there waiting for him…with Uo and Hana.

 

Kyo sighed. “Tohru,” he said, “can I please talk to you alone?” Uo and Hana eyed him warily and left at Tohru's bidding. They were keeping a close watch on the two, however.

 

“You wanted to talk to me Kyo,” Tohru asked, “is there something wrong?”

 

Kyo couldn't help but smile. `Tohru could be so cute sometimes,' he mused.

 

“What is it Kyo,” Tohru stared at him curiously and began to blush.

 

Kyo furrowed his brow and bit his lip. He began to blush intensely, his face beet red. He looked down at the ground. “Umm…Tohru,” he began. “I was wondering…umm…would you…err…be my girlfriend?” He shut his eyes tightly and bowed his head lower. His lip practically chewed off and face flushed scarlet.

 

Tohru giggled al little blushing furiously. “I…I…I don't know what to say. Of course I'll be your girlfriend,” she beamed.

 

Kyo looked up at her and almost hugged her but instead he leaned in and kissed her. She was shocked but kissed him back. Tohru could feel Kyo's smile beneath the kiss and smiled herself.

 

So it was settled. Kyo and Tohru were officially a couple, walking hand in hand down the hallway.

 

Everything was wonderful and they were in perfect bliss. Kyo had even stopped picking fights with Yuki. It was almost as if his animosity for the rat had disappeared and a sort of truce between the two had been formed.

 

Although he felt hurt by their relationship, Yuki was happy. He was more relaxed and seemed to have less on his mind all the time.

 

Tohru and Kyo were still a little shy around each other and would often burst into giggle fits, much to the shock (Yuki) and entertainment (Shigure) of the other household members. (Strange to imagine Kyo in a giggle fit but that's what happens to him with Tohru on his mind)

 

Kyo felt so good. Of course he loved being with his master but never before had someone else loved him for who he was. Tohru was in bliss as well. She was worried about Yuki but he would always assure he was fine. “Don't worry about me Miss Honda, I am alright. I hope you and Kyo are doing well,” he would say with a princely smile.

 

It was as if the heavens were shining down on them. But as soon as Kyo's dreams came true, they came crashing down. Somehow, Akito had discovered they were dating and he was not happy.

 

Yuki rubbed his eyes sleepily as he sauntered into the kitchen. “Somebody please tell me what's going on,” Yuki said, referring to the frenzy going on around him.

 

Tohru was sobbing and saying something was all her fault. Kyo was trying to console her but there was panic written all over his face.

 

“Yuki,” Shigure gasped, “something terrible has happened.” Yuki's eyed widened in fear instantaneously knowing what had happened. Yuki rushed over to Tohru and Kyo as Shigure finished explaining what was happening. Apparently, Akito was about to pay a visit to their house.

 

There was a knock at the door. Shigure turned to the three then went to answer it.

 

Sure enough, it was Akito. He was smirking. `Maybe he's in a good mood,' Shigure wondered hopefully.

 

“Welcome Akito. How are you today,” Shigure smiled. Hatori walked in and looked at Shigure grimly.

 

“Shut up Shigure,” Akito snapped, “I'm here for a reason, not to chat.” He narrowed his eyes, glaring at Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo. “Kyo, Tohru,” he said, “come with me into the other room. I need to talk to you.”

 

They followed him into Shigure's study. Tohru shakily grabbed Kyo's hand and held tight. He looked at her and attempted a smile as Akito shut the door. Everyone else waited outside the room, nervously.
