The Beginning of the Adventure part 1

~Sohma house~

" Kelly hurry up! We're going to be late!" Cara yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

Kelly poked her head from her room, her school uniform top unbuttoned.

" Be right there!" She called.

She quickly buttoned up her shirt and put on her socks and hopped down the stairs while attempting to put on and tie her shoes. But, of course, she slipped and fell down to the bottom.

"Ouch." She winced.

Cara and Diamond laughed.

"Lost your balance there Kell?" Diamond asked.

Kelly gave her a `whatever' look and stood up. She brushed herself off and finished tying her shoes. She sighed and looked at her friends.

"Well, I'm ready." She said.

Her two friends nodded and the three girls headed off to school.

~At school~

Kelly thought it completely sucked that none of them had classes together, so she did the usual during the school day. She hid herself. For the entire day, she never smiled or talked unless she needed to talk. But after school, she met her friends in front of the large cherry tree in front of the schoolyard, where she cracked and smiled and laughed with her friends like her usual self.

" Hey!" A familiar voice called behind the girls.

They all looked around and saw where the voice was coming from. They all giggled when they saw who it was. It was Ayame, Yuki, and Hatsuharu, the girls' friends, who all had a HUGE crush on one of each of them, even though the girls didn't know it.

"Hey! Aya!" Cara called waving.

Ayame waved back as the three boys ran up to the girls.

" What are three maidens like yourselves doing at a horrid place like this? Must you need rescuing fair maidens?" Ayame said dramatically.

The three girls laughed. So did Haru and Yuki.

" Yes fair maidens, we are three knights here to rescue you." Yuki added between chuckles.

Kelly giggled.

" Why yes, we are in need of rescuing Knights in armor." Cara replied between giggles.

The six friends all laughed until Diamond spotted something.

" Uh oh Kell, look who it is, Mr. Want it all." She said.

Kelly looked to where Diamond was pointing and her smile vanished as she became her hidden self again. It was Damen, a rich boy who had the snobby attitude to match. He was constantly hitting on Kelly, and she would always reply by being her hidden self, no smile or laugh. Today was no different.

"Ugh, Kelly why do you still hang around with a crowd like this? You know you could always come with my gang and me; it would be worth your while." He said with a sore look at Kelly's friends.

Yuki felt his blood boil inside. Kelly stared at Damen with a blank look.

" I'm staying with my friends Damen." She said monotone.

With that, she turned and walked away. Diamond glared at Damen.

" Give it up loser, she's not going to ever stoop to your level." She said sorely, turning around and walking behind Kelly.

Yuki glared at Damen.

" How low can you go Damen." He fumed.

Then he, Cara, Aya, and Haru walked behind Kelly and Diamond.

~Sohma house~

" Bye everyone, see you tomorrow!" Kelly waved to Cara, Diamond, Aya, and Haru as they left.

Kelly shut the door and walked into the kitchen. Kyo was playing video games. Shigure was in his office with Mii watching over him like a hawk. Yuki settled down to do some last day of school paperwork. Kelly walked into the kitchen to fix dinner.

` I can't believe it…schools already over and its only a couple more days until we graduate. And to think this was my first year in Japan too, and already so much has happened.' She thought.

Many thoughts suddenly raced through her mind.

~Flashbacks~

"No…she can't be…NO!" Kelly had screamed when she found out her mother had been murdered at her work.

" I'm Kelly, I'm from America." She had said at her first day of school when she had met Diamond and Cara.

" Really? Wow, thank you so much." She had said when she had first joined the student council under Yuki Sohma.

" Bu- But I couldn't, you really can't be doing all this for me!" She had replied when she was offered to stay in the Sohma home.

" GAH!! THIS ISN'T HAPPENING!!" She had screamed when she found out the Sohma secret.

" Kyo… he's not a monster…he's not!" She had said when she discovered Kyo's secret and when she was talking to Akito in the rain.

~End flashbacks~

Kelly found herself crying when she came out of her thoughts. She gasped and quickly wiped her tears away so no one would see them. She looked around to make sure no one had walked in, and no one had, everyone was still doing their own thing. She went back to cooking dinner.

~A couple hours later~

" You know I know how to deal… with the fact that I'm alone… will the dream I had even matter to you… with the fact that I'm here…" Kelly was singing as she waited for the teriyaki chicken to finish baking in the stove.

She had a special way of making it so it tasted just right. Kyo was about to walk in and complain when it would be done when he heard her singing. He stopped until she had stopped and then he walked in.

" Hey Kell, when is dinner?" He said in his usual complaining voice.

Kelly turned surprised.

" Oh, Kyo, you surprised me. In a few more minutes, that's when it'll be done, just be a little bit more patient Kyo." She said with a plastered smile.

Kyo looked at her for a minute.

" What?" She asked with a confused look.

" Nothing." Kyo said with a chuckle as he left.

Kelly giggled and sighed as the timer went off and she pulled out the chicken from the oven. She stuck a thermometer in it to make sure it was the right temp. She then smiled as she determined it was just right. She glazed it perfectly with another layer of teriyaki sauce then dabbed it with lemon juice to give it a zing she always did when she made it for her mom.

" Dinner everyone! Mii-chan your welcome to join us." Kelly said.

Mii sighed.

" No thanks Kelly dear. I have to get back to the office to give the editor these papers." She said waving the work Shigure had done.

Kelly bowed.

" Ok, nice to see you again." She replied.

Mii bowed as well and left the house. Kelly then went back into the kitchen and brought out the chicken and white rice. She set it on the table to see the surprised faces of everyone.

"What?" She asked.

" Did I do something wrong? Does it not look good?" She added.

Kyo shook his head.

" No but what's the big occasion? You never usually make such big meals like this." Yuki said.

Kelly smiled and cocked her head.

" No occasion, just something I figured you all would like." She replied.

Yuki blinked but didn't say anything.

~The next day~

Kelly woke up to see rain falling down and thunder pounding. She got out of bed, looked out the window and smiled. She loved storms and this one was huge, which caught her excitement even more. She took a shower and dressed in a blue long sleeved shirt with the sleeves flaring and black stretch bell-bottom pants. She put a black-jeweled Barrette in her short brown hair to hold it up. She then left her room. Surprisingly, Kyo was awake and watching TV. Yuki was reading a book and Shigure was in his office with Mii watching over him again. She walked into the kitchen and saw the dishes in the sink.

"Everyone's already eaten…ok then." She said to herself as she began to wash the dishes and put them away.

When she was finished, she looked out the window as she dried her wet hands. The rain was showing no signs of stopping and the thunder pounded at lightning flashed constantly across the dark sky. She smiled wide as she watched the rain pound on the window. She rested her chin on her hands as she watched it pour.

~That night~

Kelly had gone out with Diamond and Cara after it had stopped raining to the park for some summer studying. While they sat under the large cherry tree that was dripping with water from the rain, they didn't notice the demon that was hiding behind a tree nearby. He glared at them as they worked.

` It's them sir, the elemental children, I'm sure of it.' He said telepathically to another demon.

He waited a few seconds before replying `yes sir' and approaching the girls.

The girls didn't notice as they listened to their CD players and working quietly. Diamond looked up and saw the demon and pulled off her headphones and gasped. Kelly and Cara looked up after her and did the same as they saw the hideous beast. The three girls screamed in fright as the demon approached them with a horrifying smile on his face. Kelly spoke up, her voice quivering.

"What are you and what do you want?" She said choking a bit on her words.

The demon stopped in front of them and smirked.

" I am Shigu and I have come to kill you three elemental children as an order of my master Destin." He replied.

"Elemental children?" The three girls said simultaneously.

The demon nodded and smirked. He suddenly sprang forward as the girls scattered in fear. He leapt and grabbed Diamond by her hair. She screamed in pain and fear.

" Diamond!" Kelly and Cara yelled.

The demon knocked her out and slipped a pill into her mouth and poured water into it to make the pill go down. Diamond fell to the ground unconscious. Cara and Kelly screamed as they watched her fall and began to run from the park. The demon shook his head and sprang again, this time grabbing Cara and doing the same to her as he had done to Diamond. She too fell unconscious to the ground. Kelly's green eyes were completely blank, her pupils swallowed by the green color as she watched her friend fall.

"N-no…NO!" She screamed and ran away blindly.

The demon shook his head again and smiled with his same hideous smirk.

" When will you ever learn?" He said as he sprang again and landed in front of Kelly.

She paused in fear and stared at the demon. She then took a fighting pose, but her entire body was shaking violently. The demon smirked and replied,

" you think you can fight me?" Kelly didn't say anything.

He smirked again and ran forward with incredible speed, standing in front of Kelly in an instant. Kelly gasped as the demon stood over her. The demon smiled as he saw her fear.

" Time to finally die." He said.

He grabbed Kelly's hair like Cara and Diamond and slipped her the pill as well and poured the water into her mouth, making the pill go down instantly. Kelly felt her world blank out.

"N…no…" She muttered as she fell unconscious.

~The next morning~

Kelly woke up to a terrible headache.

"Nnnnh…" She muttered as she came to.

She looked around but only saw a blur. She blinked and stood up but she felt unusual. She looked up and she felt as though she had shrunk a lot. She then looked down at her body and her eyes became wide as she screamed. She had become a kid! Her clothes were now big on her and she was half her normal size.

"EEK!" She screamed.

" Ke-Kelly! Look at us!" She heard Diamond say behind her.

She turned around and saw that Diamond and Cara were both kids as well. They all looked at each other stunned.

" That demon, what he gave us reversed our ages!" Kelly shrieked.

Diamond and Cara nearly passed out.

" This isn't the worst part either." Cara said putting her hand to her chin.

Kelly and Diamond looked at her. Cara nodded and added,

" How are we going to tell our friends? The boys are going to freak when they see us this way." Diamond shook her head.

" We have no choice, they're the only ones we must tell, Cara, you and me cant tell our parents, the only people any of us can tell are the Sohma's, that's it. Understand?" She said.

Kelly and Cara nodded in agreement.

"Wait!" Cara suddenly said.

Kelly and Diamond looked at her.

" We can't use our regular names, we have to change them."

Cara said. Kelly and Diamond nodded.

" But what should our names be?" Kelly asked.

" I will be Shina." Diamond said. Cara nodded.

" I'll be Emiko." She said. Kelly nodded in agreement.

"And I will be Mia." She said with a smile.

The three girls nodded and they headed for their friends houses.

Ok, that was my first chapter * sighs * well its time to work on my second chapter. Oh and before I forget, I don't own Fruits Basket. I just own Mia/Kelly. I don't own Diamond/Shina or Cara/Emiko either by the way.

Yuki: would she own anything else?

Kyo: shut up
