“Baka Neko! Get down before we leave you. We’re going to be late if we wait for you. Hurry up.” Yuki’s annoyed voice broke Kyou’s thoughts causing him to look down at the ground. Yuki and Tohru were standing there starring up at him, waiting for him to come down so they could go to school.
One thing Kyou always wondered, was why Yuki waited for him. Sure, Tohru was there as well, but he could’ve just left already.
Kyou shook his head and pushed the thought aside, and got down from the roof, greeting the nezumi with a glare, and Tohru with a mumbled ‘Ohayo’.
“Ohayo Kyou-kun.” Tohru said cheerfully as the trio began their short trip to school.
“Yeah, yeah.” Kyou replied, walking a bit in front of the two, still thinking, wondering on what to do with the rest of his life. The short 6 months he had left. People say life is short. But, is it really? The way people say it, is actually funny. In a normal person’s case, life is not short, life is the longest thing they’ll ever do.
In Kyou’s case, perhaps it was indeed true. Sure, he’d still be alive, but he’d be locked away for the rest of his life, with no company but the person that came to give him food.
Yes, that’s a short life.
What could he do? There was so much...So little time. He had to confess his love to-
He blinked and turned around, Yuki and Tohru were talking quietly.
They seemed so happy. Both totally oblivious of the fact that Kyou would be locked up in only 6 months.
Wait, did he really love her? Or did he only think he did? Either way, no, no there was no way he’d tell her. She’d only be hurt more when he was locked up.
They were so lucky. They were allowed to be happy. They had no reason to worry, no reason to be sad...
“Kyou-kun, are you ok?” Tohru asked. Kyou hadn’t realized that he stopped a few feet away from the school. He was just standing there, a blank look upon his face.
“Baka neko!” Yuki yelled out in aggravation.
“Shut the hell up kuso nezumi, I hear you!” Kyou yelled back as he ran past Tohru and Yuki, and into the school.
“Ano, I hope Kyou-kun is ok. Should we check on him Yuki-kun?” Tohru asked, her voice full of concern. She just hoped that Kyou was ok.
“No Honda-san, the baka neko will be ok, he always is.” Yuki said, wanting to end the conversation about the cat. He could honestly care less of what happened to him.

“They don’t know, they have no clue how I feel! No clue what’s happening! Damn them!” Kyou yelled in anger, punching the wall in one of the empty classrooms, some paint came off and fell onto the ground.
“There’s no way, no possible way. I’ll be locked up forever, and I’ll never see anyone ever again. And, I guess, I’ll just have to face it...Face my destiny.” Kyou sighed and pulled out his wallet, which was stuffed with some pictures, money, his school idea, and in the very back of it, hidden amongst everything, was a picture of him and Yuki when they were younger.
The picture was crumbled a bit, and the color almost totally faded.
Kyou and Yuki were about 6 in the picture, and were smiling, holding hands happily.
“Yeah, we used to be good friends. But that damn Akito, Kagura, and almost everyone else tore us a part, told us it was wrong for the rat and cat to be friends.” Kyou sighed and stuffed the small picture back into his wallet.
“And, I guess they were right.”

The bell rang and all the students who were outside ran into the building, not wanting to be late.
“Oh! There you are Kyou-kun!” Tohru said cheerfully as she entered the classroom, and took her seat next to Kyou. Yuki took his seat next to him. Class soon began, but Kyou couldn’t concentrate.
‘I’ve heard, that people fight, because they care about eachother. To take the time to fight, is to show you’ll take the time to care. But, is it really the case with Yuki and I?’ Kyou thought to himself as he starred at the other boy, whom to his shock, didn’t look as though he was concentrating on school work.
Sitting there, the sunlight shining gently on his face and hair, lighting up his body, Yuki looked so, beautiful.
Kyo shook his head. ‘What the hell am I thinking?!’ He screamed inside his mind. Mentally smacking himself for thinking about Yuki that way.
Yuki sat there, twirling his pen between his fingers, not even hearing what the teacher was talking about. No, he was thinking about the baka neko.
‘I wonder why he acted so different today. Not that I care, but. It’s just not like him. Sure, he’s mean to Honda-san, but never like this. He just stormed into school today, and he wasn’t even late. I wonder if something’s wrong. But than again why do I care?’ Yuki thought to himself, and looked over to Kyo, whom was currently starring at him already. Both boys gave eachother dirty looks, and turned away.
Baka neko.
Kuso nezumi.
