“I’ll save you Yuki, I’ll save you from him.”

Yuki rubbed his eyes and sat up on his bed. It was around nine now.

“Ah, I’m glad you’re awake Yuki-kun. Here’s some chicken soup. It should make you feel a bit better.” Shigure said as he put a tray down on Yuki’s lap. Yuki blinked at then food, then looked up at Shigure.

“I’m not eating your food!” Yuki said. He knew all to well how horrible Shigure’s food tasted.

“Yuki-kun! I’m hurt. I didn’t make it anyway, Tohru-kun did.” Shigure said as he left the room. Yuki felt relieved. Although, lately he hasn’t really been able to trust the older Sohma. Shigure seemed to have something hidden.

Yuki sighed and took a spoonful of the soup.

Yes, this was definitely Tohru’s cooking.

When Yuki finished eating, he opened the drawer next to the bed, and pulled out Kenji’s diary, opening it to the first page. He read:

January 1st
Dear diary,

That damn rat! He beat me, AGAIN! Why the hell can’t I beat him?! I just want to show Yui that his precious rat isn’t so perfect. He isn’t! All I have to do is beat him, only once. Just so I can show Yui that I am apart of this family! I’ll finally be accepted as a Sohma!

‘So it seems, the cat felt the same way as Kyou did. He just wanted to be accepted.’ Yuki thought.

January 15th
Dear diary,

I wonder what’s up with the baka nezumi?! I tried fighting him today, but he didn’t want to. He seemed, distant. Hmm, it’s no big deal I guess, why the hell do I even care? Then again, he did come from Yui’s room. Maybe he said something to him?

‘The past rat tortured by the clan head as well?’ Yuki knew all to well how he felt.

February 7th
Dear Diary,

I transformed today, because Kenji took my beads away. I couldn’t believe it. What was even more surprising, was that Kai(The rat) went after me. I was so shocked. I just starred at him. He told me to stop being so selfish and let people into my life. What he meant by that, I haven’t the slightest clue. But afterwards, he told me that he has been trying to be my friend for a while now. Said he was sick of fighting...Go figure. Baka nezumi...

‘The rat saw Kenji transform? And he didn’t mind it? He wanted to befriend him?’ Yuki thought. He wasn’t scared when he first saw Kyou.

February 14th
Dear Diary,

I tried beating him again today, with no luck of course.

I wanted to see if I could beat him while he was asleep, so I crept to his house last night. He looked so peaceful while he was sleeping, I just couldn’t. Instead, I kissed his forehead! I haven’t the slightest clue as to why I did it, I just did! Baka nezumi, what the hell is he doing to me?

Dear diary,

He was....awake...When I kissed him! Shit, and he didn’t even mind it! What the hell is wrong? And we haven’t even fought much...What’s happening? I’m worried. And Yui seems to notice that fact that we aren’t fighting. And he’s not happy.

‘Why did Yui want them to fight?’ Yuki asked himself as he flipped the next page.

March 20th
Dear Diary,

Damnit. What’s wrong with us? We haven’t fought since we entered our final year of high school! Which was 3 months ago. It’s weird. I think I’m developing feelings for him. And I think he feels the same.

Dear Diary,

I’m in love with him. No doubt about that. I can’t hold back anymore, and I told him. He looked shocked. But he answered me ‘It’s about time you told me kuso neko. I’ve been waiting for you to tell me.’ He felt the same. I couldn’t believe it.

April 3rd
Dear Diary,

I found a book in the main house today. The zodiac story, the one we all know is wrong. The real one was kept hidden because no one wanted the cat and rat to fall in love. Yui found me looking at it and took it away. I don’t think he knows about Kai and I.

April 15th
Dear Diary,

Graduation is in a month. After which, Kai and I plan to run away from here. We can be alone, without living in fear of what others may think.

April 26th
Dear Diary,

Almost everyone knows now. That can’t be good. And so many of them told us to break up, because it was wrong. But is that all they care about? They can’t let us be happy?

We know how you feel. Many of the people here don’t accept us as well. Why is it so hard?

Yuki turned the page, and found it hard to read, the letters were messed up. It almost looked as though someone was trying to hide it.

April 30th
Dear Diary,

May 7th
Dear Diary,

I told Kai, and he was so broken by the news. He broke down in tears. It’ll be ok though. It’s all going to be alright.

May 15th
Dear Diary,

Here I am, sitting down in some small room. Kai and I found a way to see eachother once a week. Maybe it won’t be so bad.

The next couple of pages were raggedy and torn, filled with ink blots that looked like someone was crying. Yuki was able to read it. It told about the times Kai creaped into the room. And a very uh...explicit scene that caused Yuki to blush.

20 years later.

August 1st
Dear Diary,

I can’t take it anymore! We haven’t seen eachother in 5 years. Yui, I hate you! I can’t deal with this pain. Diary, I hope you come to use for the future cat and rat. If they struggle like Kai and I did. Cat, if you’re reading this. I’m so sorry. I hope you found the information in this diary helpful. Remember, don’t be afraid to love him.

On the last page, some blood was splattered on the words. Kenji really did kill himself. He was so hurt. But how did Kai feel?

Yuki frowned. There was no more. He blinked as he turned the pages. The finaly two were stuck together. He pulled on them as gently as possible, and pulled them apart.

September 8th

I am writing this to tell about what happened afterwards. Kai just killed himself a week ago, unable to take the pain. He was buried next to Kenji. It was sad, they loved eachother so much, but were torn away, and put in even more pain. Was it so bad? To let two people love? I guess in the Sohma family it is. They were both great. Almost like big brothers to me.
The new cat and rat were born. The cat on August 1st, and the rat on September 1st.
Ayame said he wanted them to be friends, since Kenji and Kai struggled so much. He thought, if he could make them become friends at an early age, they won’t struggle through anything.
We also have a new clan head. Although, he’s far to young to do anything now.
Yuki, Kyou, if you ever find this, I want you to know..............

Yuki starred at it for almost an hour. He couldn’t make it out! What was that person trying to tell them? He looked below at the name of the person who wrote it.

“It’ll be ok Yuki, I won’t let him taint you.” Black Haru thought as he walked into Shigures house. The older Sohma seemed to be out somewhere. Maybe at the main house. Or with Ayame. One could never tell with Shigure.

He made his way up to Yuki’s room and walked in. Yuki had his back facing him, and he was sleeping soundly, but was awoken when he heard the click of the door.

“Haru? What are you doing here? You should be in school.” Yuki said as he rubbed his eyes. This was black Haru!

“Haru, why are you black? What happened?” Yuki asked with concern. Whenever Haru was black, there were always so many...problems.

“Kyou happened...” He said as he sat down next to the sick boy.

Haru knew....

Kyou searched around the schoolyard. Haru was no where to be found. He always had lunch with them. He shrugged it off. Maybe Haru just had something to do after school? Or maybe he got lost. Or he might’ve even had detention, knowing Haru, he probably went black.

“W...What do you mean Haru?” Yuki knew what Haru meant, he was just unsure of how the boy would act. He seemed mad, so there was no way he’d accept them.

“You know what I mean! Don’t listen to him Yuki! He’s only using you. He doesn’t love you. He’s only using you for sex. Once he’s done with you he’ll dump you. And after that, he’ll take your pain and use it against you by beating you, so he won’t get locked up.”

No...No, Kyou wasn’t like that. He wasn’t using Yuki. He loved him!

Right?


“No, no Haru you’re wrong! He does love me! And what do you mean get locked up?” Yuki asked. He knew Kyou loved him. He could tell.

“Oh, he didn’t tell you?” He laughed. “Show’s how much he cares for you. After graduation he’s getting locked up at the main house for the rest of his life. You’ll never see him again.”

“No!”

SO, there’s the end of that chapter. What’s Yuki gonna say when Kyou gets home? I love Haru, I really do, but I need to make him a bad guy for this story. I plan to write a Haru/Yuki romance soon anyway ^.^
