Dagger: Hey everyone. I’m back. I was reading a bunch of old Furuba fanfics, and none of them exceeded 2007, so I decided to write one of my own.
Knives: I just realized something.
Dagger: What’s that?
Knives: We’re the only one in the house.
Dagger: So observant.
Knives: Now I can sleep.
Dagger: Yes, so there will be partial silence in here. Go, shoo, I demand you leave my presence*watches him grumble and walk away*Read please and enjoy….or not. Won’t hurt me either way.
Kyo frowned. He hated being inside the Sohma Estate. Something unpleasant always happened when they were there. Nothing had occurred so far, but the longer he had to wait, the worse the event was, as though building and storing energy in its dormancy to be unleashed like a bomb or volcano.
He, Shigure, and Yuki were forced to pay the head of the Sohma clan under the pretense that Akito was ill. Each had different reactions to the dreaded Akito. Kyo’s was of hatred, resentment, and horror that mixed and made his skin crawl. Yuki was scared shitless, though he hid it under that holier-than-thou mask. Shigure merely resigned himself and accepted the circumstances he had no control over.
He slowly strode down the boardwalk/porch that surrounded nearly all of the estate building. It was then that he heard whimpers and desperate cries coming from the room in front of him only seven feet away.
“No Akito, please….don’t do it! I’m sorry, I’ll do better next time…!”
That sounded like Yuki, he thought, frown turning to a glare. He paused two feet from the slightly open doorway. If he’d been in cat form, his ears would be twitching with attentiveness.
There was a shout of pain, and then Yuki’s please came again. “Akito-sama, please! It hurts….” A whimper.
A deep, dreaded chuckle. “That is the point, Yuki-chan.” It was almost a purr, insidious and sadistic.
Panting. Desperation. The smell of saltwatertears. “Please, Kureno, don’t let him hurt me…. Please, we’re cousins. I beg of you!” He screamed as he seemed to be struck.
“Be silent! You are never to address Kureno. Now you must be punished.”
“NO!”
Kyo pushed the door open silently. No one was aware of his presence, which wasn’t surprising, really. No one ever noticed him unless he was yelling or breaking things.
Yuki was partially undressed, and Akito had a tight grip on the silve rhair. Whimpers fell form pink lips, and tears streamed form violent eyes. Kureno’s back was turned to Kyo, but Kyo know what was about to happen when he heard the distinctive sound of a zipper being undone and saw the slack around the rooster’s hips droop. Akito laughed and kicked Yuki’s ribs when the rat involuntarily crined and tried move away.
Inexplicable rage and horror burned through the cat’s veins, boiling blood and scorching tissue. Roaring, he used the amazing speed of the catan enhanced speed surpassing that of even the fastest of humans, though not as advanced as others of the Zodiache streaked forward. He struck Kureno, knocking him away as he was bout to force himself into Yuki’s unwilling and trembling mouth.
Kureno knocked into Akito, who realeased a cringing and bruised Yuki; almost brutally, Kyo jerked the nezumi to his feet and clothes to haphazard order. “Run,” he snarled. He roughly shoved Yuki out the door behind them just as Akito went ballistic.
~*~~*~
Yuki stumbled fifteen feet away before he whirled enough to see Kyo fly out of the doorway, hit the railing on the boardwalk, break through the wood, and land on the ground. His shoulders hit, and he used the leverage to throw his legs over and roll to his feet in one fluid motion that spoke of his cat-curse. He jerked off his long coat and tossed it to Yuki, who caught it.
“Put it on, damn nezumi,” he snarled before he dodged one of Akito’s attacks.
Wordlessly, Yuki obeyed, observing wide-eyed as he saw what occurred before him. Kyo’s body was fluid and calm as he fought the erratic, angry attacks of Akito. Something squeezed in his chest as he watched the orange neko fight valiantly. Then he flinched and screamed as Kureno came for him, angry that he’d been struck.
Suddenly, Kyo was ther, and his rusty eyes had turned to crimson as he grabbed Kureno’s hair and tore his head to the side, using enough strength to take the body with it. Akito took advantage of his distraction and slammed a fist into the neko’s ribs. Kyo’s foot struck out and hit the raven hard in the groin as he fell.
Yuki’s scream had attracted Hatsuharu’s and Shigure’s attention, and they came running to see what was happening. They stared in shock at the scene before them. Kyo rolled to his feet, swayed to the side shakily, then struck out at Kureno. A fist to the jaw, hip, stomach, and then a hard elbow to the back of the neck; he the doubled-over form crumpled to the ground with a pained grunt.
An absolutely livid Akito attacked the neko viciously, grabbing him around his tanned, slender neck. He probably would’ve strangled him if Kyo didn’t land a blow to his side, and they danced away from each other.
Kyo, stop fighting, Yuki thought desperately. The more you defy him, the harsher your punishment will be. Please stop it. He wanted to scream it out, but all he could do was watch….
And listen….
“Monster! Abomination,” Akito snarled maliciously. “How dare you touch what’s mine. How dare you interfere with what is my right!”
“Raping Yuki is not your right,” Kyo hissed, his tone love, guttural, and dangerous. “No one has that right. Get over yourself.”
“Insolence! If you insist on this defiance, you will be forced to live in your future home earlier than you anticipated.”
Kyo, stop! Yuki thought, eyes wide in panic. He didn’t understand what that meant, but he knew it wasn’t good.
Beside him, animosity and bloodlust burned in a roiling hazard; Haru was going black.
Kureno and Akito struck simultaneously, catching the injured Kyo off-guard. In a flash, hi sshoulder was forced from its socket, and Akito dug at one of the flailing legs. No matter what was done to him, however, Kyo refused to give Akito the satisfaction of screaming.
Kyo lay helpless on the ground, and as Kureno began pressing a bot on the panting neko’s throat, intent on crushing the esophagus, that’s when chaos ensued.
Black Haru burst away from his position in a fury and pummeled Kureno with both feet as he did a sort of flying kick. He landed gracefully while Kureno in a lump. Then the white-and-black-haired teen turned on Akito. Akito was actually terrified of the Black Haru and backed away; five times in the past, Black Haru had beaten him in duels, and there was nothing he could do to punish his actions for fear of evoking the alter ego.
Black Haru struck his face, knocking him on his ass, where he crawled backwards and away. The younger teen stared hard at him for long minutes while silence, except for pained pants, forced itself on the Sohma Estate. More people had arrived at the sound of battle and stared with bated breath, gathered in a crowd two feet behind Shigure and Yuki. Tension made everyone nervous.
Then Black Haru stooped and tenderlyextremely astonishing in his current state of mindscooped the semi-conscious Kyo on in the cradle made by his arms and chest. A whimper came from the neko, but no one heard it unless they were focused on him, as were Yuki, Shigure, and Haru.
“Shigure, get the car,” Haru commanded in a cold voice that made nearly everyone shiver in apprehension. “We are staying no longer. Yuki, find a blanket or covering of some sort so we can keep Kyo from going into shock.” He strode after Shigure.
“Here!” A maid thrust a stack of several newly laundered sheets. “Use these. Hurry, go!”
Thanking her breathlessly, Yuki ran after the brunette and punk-teen. Once they were at the car, Haru and Shigure positioned Kyo so that he lay flat and straight in the car. They wrapped two thick sheets around him, then positioned the last two as a sort of restraint to Kyo in place during the drive home.
“Yuki, go find Hatori and tell him to come to our place,” Shigure ordered. “Haru and I will take him now. See you then.”
Yuki nodded and ran for Hatori’s part of the manor. Bursting in the home without preamble, he burst in a long explanation during half of which Hatori gathered medical supplies. He and Yuki loaded into his vehicle and left for Yuki’s home.
Along the way, Yuki used his cell phone to call Tohru for her assistance as well; over time, Tohru had somehow developed a form of magical healing as a result of her extended relationship with more than four of the Zodiac members, who were magic in and of themselves. Tohru, who had grown intellectually as well as emotionally over the time that she moved to her own several months ago, said that she would be there as soon as possible.
~*~Dagger: Sorry, I had to interrupt myself to clear up a little. I know this isn’t Furuba protocol, but Tohrus is three years Yuki’s and Kyo’s senior, so she’s like 2 years graduated and training as a nurse.
Knives: Which is apparent with her totally OOC healing ability.
Dagger: *grabs him, throws him into her car trunk, locks it with key and electronic security, and walks away, twirling car keys on her finger*
Cross: I’m free!!*hugs Dagger*I missed you! Those men-in-white-coats were horrible!*looks at car*Why did you put Knives in the trunk?
Dagger: He deserved it. Plus, I’m evil. My boyfriend, Satan, envies my evilness.
Cross: *walks to car trunk*Knives, I got a big placte of brownies with your name on it. But you can’t have any….cause you’re in the trunk. Hah! Dagger and I are going to eat them all up.
*enraged roar and thumping comes from car*
Dagger: Anyhow. Back to story! Sorry, darling readers.
~*~~*~
They made it to the house in record time, only five minutes behind Shigure and Haru with the injured Kyo, and it would still take Tohru a good fifteen minutes before she got there as well. Kyo was set on a futon on the floor, and his breathing was slightly labored. Unfortunately, he was conscious and aware, and he was suffering through all that pain.
Hatori immediately began to assess the damage. Yuki stood back, unsure of what to do. Haru and Shigure were gathered around the neko on the other side as well. Kyo’s eyes looked at them, and his weak body tensed in anxiety.
“Where’s Yuki?” he rasped. “Leave me alone and save Yuki!”
“He’s here with us, Kyo-kun,” Hatori soothed, reaching back to grip the nezumi and bring him down on his knees next to the orange-haired cat.
Kyo’s hand gripped one of Yuki’s thin, slender fingers; he didn’t even take his whole hand, as though the single digit was contact enough to reassure him. He did not let go, however.
After several minutes, Hatori sighed and sat back.
“How bad is he?” Shigure inquired nervously.
“Well, he has four broken ribs on his right side. His right knee is too badly bruised and has several torn tendons. The left shoulder is obviously dislocated. Aside from that, a bunch of bruises, scrapes, and some splintered in his back. Tohru will have to take care of the broken bones before I can do anything else.”
“Well, it’s a good thing that I went twenty-five miles about the speed limit and ran two redlights just getting here,” Tohru gasped as she ran in dressed in mint green scrubs. “What do you need me to do?” She kicked off her shoes so that her socks skidded on the pristine wood floor.
That was Kyo’s doing. He loathed unseemliness. He scrubbed the floor twice a week after school and always on a Saturday, and he washed the walls every two weeks. It was strange that the brash, “bad boy” cat would be so adamant about things being clean. Perhaps it had something to do with a normal cat’s need to groom itself regularly.
“Four of his ribs are broken,” Hatori reported a little brusquely. “Right side.”
Tohru moved and knelt between Haru and Shigure and tested the naked torso with her fingertips. Kyo hissed, and his fingers tightened around the nezumi’s one. Tohru saw and smiled gently. “Yuki-san, if he looks to be in too much pain, stroke his hair.”
“Huh?!” Yuki’s skin tinged pink.
“He’s a cat. They respond to the smallest of touches. Kyo’s more sensitive to all sensations than any others of the Zodiac. He’s not coherent at the moment, which is why I’m telling you, so if he looks like he’s having a hard time, pet his hair, scratch behind his ears, anything you would do to a normal cat to calm it.”
“How do you know this?”
“You’re not the only one with secrets, Yuki-san, and you’re not the only one who tells me about them,” she scolded gently. “He has just as many as you, if not more, and some are much more painful.” She began the work of mending the broken body.
As her ability was only seven months in development, it was quite painful to the victim and almost as tiring for the healer. Kyo cried out, testifying to how horrible it was since he hadn’t even grunted during the battle. His hand tightened around that finger, and Yuki whimpered in his own pain. The rust-colored eyes snapped open, glazed over with pain, and it seemed like everything he could do to release Yuki.
Heart clenching for his cousin, Yuki held that trembling hand fully, gripping it reassuringly and giving permission for the poor neko to squeeze as hard as he wanted. The small amount of relief and acceptance in those eyes before they closed was almost heartbreaking.
Sweat rolling down her temples, Tohru whispered, “Three more to go.”
Kyo screamed, nearly arching as tears leaked from pain-filled, rustic orbs. Yuki instantaneously began combing tangles from his orange, sweat-dampened hair; he was astonished to find the action done without thought of any kind. The others, following his lead, caressed the bare skin that had been divested of clothing except for boxers for examination. The constant and many touches distracted the neko so that his shrieks reduced to quiet whimpers, and his broken sob-gasps went to evened-out panting. He stayed still for the remaining half hour that it took Tohru to complete her healing, after which she went from kneeling on her calves to sitting on her butt with her spine and head leaned back against the wall behind her.
“Up to you now, Ha’ri,” she muttered.
“Thank you, Miss Honda,” the medic replied. “Shigure-kun, get her some water.”
The dog obeyed and sat again once Tohru had possession of the dewy glass.
“Haru, grab his legs. Yuki, Shigure, keep his torso pinned. I have to put the arm back in place, an dit’s gonna hurt him like hell.”
Yuki felt sick to his stomach at the mention of more pain. It was killing to allow his former rival to be subjected to such torture. He laid over the hard-toned body of the whimpering, pliant neko, as did Shigure, draping an arm over the nezumi’s back to make sure the smaller male wasn’t thrown in the event of the inevitable struggle.
“Careful of his injury, Hatsuharu,” Hatori warned, and said ox nodded in acknowledgment. Then, without warning, Hatori jerked the shoulder into place. He somehow managed to rotate the arm into the correct position while Kyo went through something akin to a seizure. The three men in place until Kyo had stopped movement for several minutes. Then Hatori finished his job.
~*~2 Days Later~*~
Kyo whimpered as Yuki tenderly helped him from the bed to the bathroom. Ever since the fight with Akito, Yuki had dropped all masks, attitudes, and pretenses in order to help the neko all around the house and making sure he didn’t overexert himself. The behavior was odd, but he wasn’t at all displeased with the treatment. H enjoyed being treated like he mothered instead of like the everyday trash that he picked up in Shigure’s roomwell, used to.
He wasn’t allowed to do much anything anymore. Not until he was healed completely, which apparently would take a month-and-a-half.
Once he was done with the bathroom, Yuki helped go slowly down the stairs. “Maybe we should just set up a futon so I don’t have to go up and down stairs all the time,” the neko muttered.
“You’d still have to go upstairs to the bathroom,” Yuki pointed out.
Kyo grumbled halfheartedly and slowly eased onto the couch. “What are you gonna do when you gotta school tomorrow?” he asked, sighing.
“I’m not going,” he replied.
“The neko raised a burnt-orange brown. “You should go. You’ve missed enough because of Chief Asshole.”
The nezumi tilted his silver head in confusion.
“Akito.”
He blinked, then chuckled a little. Then he paused and went strangely still and quiet, reminding Kyo of Yuki’s normal attitude. “Kyo?” he said finally.
“Hmm?” He idly reached for the remote with his right arm. The left arm was trapped in a sling, while his right leg was bent slightly at the knee and in a brace that prevented most movement.
“I….” There was a long pause as he trailed off. Whtie teeth bit a full, lower pink lip nervously. Kyo tried not to notice, focusing on the totally retarded show on TV. Whoever in the world invented the Power Puff Girls should die. Seriously.
~*~Dagger: I agree with him totally. Death to the Power Puff Girls! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!………OK, mini-rant over.~*~~*~
“I….” Yuki started again, “I don’t want to be your….enemy….anymore….”
Kyo blinked and turned to stare at him. Did he really say that? Did he honestly just try to make a truce after all those years of calling me “baka neko”?
At his silence, Yuki sighed downheartedly. “Well, whatever you decide, I’ll understand. I think you should know, though, that I won’t participate in any duels against you. You can do whatever you want, but I won’t strike back or retaliate. Not after what I know.”
His alarm level went up dramatically. He….won’t fight back? “And what, pray tell, do you know now?” he asked aloud, trying to keep his voice steady.
“Tohru…. She told me about how sensitive you are to touch,” he murmured carefully, watching the neko’s reactions warily. “I don’t want to hurt you anymore.”
Kyo snorted. “I’m used to pain. And once graduation passes, it’ll be an everyday thing.”
Yuki blinked. “What do you mean?”
Kyo sighed. “Tohru told you about the sensitivity thing, right?”
He nodded.
“Well, maybe you should ask her about graduation.”
There was a short pause. “But I want to hear it from you.”
Kyo sighed. He considered the proposal a moment, mulling it around in his skull. “Only if you give me one of your secrets in return,” he murmured lowly. He knew that if he was secretive, Yuki was twice as much. If Yuki agreed, then he knew he’d have the strength to uphold his end of the deal.
Yuki hesitated, his normally impassive eyes alive with insecurity and anxiety. “Okay,” he whispered.
Kyo felt something inside him release, and he flet lighter. He gave a little smirk, then uncharacteristically took Yuki’s pale, smaller hand into his large, tanned one. He’d never done so; a small part of him had wanted to, but it had been terrified of being rejected and had buried itself under its stronger, more belligerent counterparts. That part of him jumped and danced in joy now when Yuki tightened his fingers instead of pulling away.
He even went so far as to offer a weak, hesitant grin.
Regrettably, the moment was broken when they heard someone come into the house.
“Hello!” came Tohru’s voice.
Kyo released Yuki’s hand and turned to smile and greet Tohru so she knew where they were. The bouncy brunette came in with her stocking feet in her traditional slippers.
“Ohayo, Kyo-kun, Yuki-kun,” she said, coming to sit next to the coffee table, on a mat on the floor. “How are you feeling now, Kyo-kun? Getting any better?”
“Yeah, I think so,” he replied. “My shoulder’s a lot better, but my knee’s screwed.”
“Don’t be rude, Kyo,” Yuki scolded, though his pitch didn’t hold the usual sting in it.
Tohru laughed. “Well, I brought some crutches for you, and I”ve gained enough energy to heal your shoulder three times over.” She grinned proudly.
“so I could go to school tomorrow?” he asked hopefully. H ehated missing school days, mostly because he didn’t like being behind anybody in anything. He felt inferior and lost, and he didn’t like it.
“Unfortunately, no,” she answered. “I’d say not until Wednesday.”
“But that’ll be three days that I’ve missed!” Kyo exclaimed as Yuki left to go outside.
“You’re smart, Kyo-kun, you’ll catch up before anyone notices that you have no clue what’s going on,” Tohru replied, smiled plastered on her face. “Oh, arigato, Yuki-kun. I would’ve gotten them myself.”
“That’s okay, Honda-san. It was no problem.”
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Yuki set down the crutches against the arm of the sofa. He’d have to tank him later. Yuki sat beside Kyo as Tohru proceeded to remove the sling and check the shoulder out. She counted to three, then began healing the injury. The pain was excruciating, and the claws in the neko’s hands dug into the cushions of the sofa. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he forced himself to hold still.
Then, unexpectedly, Yuki took his hand into his own and rubbed his thumb across the back of the tanned hand. Kyo’s head whipped around in surprise. Yuki’s pretty purple eyes expressed sympathy and anxiety over the pain that the neko had to suffer through. His other hand rubbed Kyo’s forearm in a comforting gesture meant to distract until Tohru was finished.
“Okay. Now try moving it to tell me if it hurts,” the brunette said, pulling away.
Kyo obeyed and smiled. “Perfect.”
“Oh good. I have to leave now. Take care, you two. Ja!”
~*~~*~
The next day, Yuki went to school while Kyo slept in an hour late and proceeded to do as follows: eat, watch TV, study biology, catnap, sketch mindless doodles, and hobble on crutches from bedroom to bathroom, kitchen, and living room. When it came to the time for Yuki to come home, he hobbled to the porch and sat on the porch swing.
Yuki came into sight with his shoulder bag and a stack of papers, and Hatsuharu sauntered alongside him with a stack of textbooks.
“Oi, Kyokichi!” Haru called, running up the four porch steps to sit heavily beside him.
“Hello, annoying. What are you doing here?”“Well, Yuki-kun and I took the initiative to collect all your homework for Friday, today, and tomorrow so you wouldn’t more around complaining about falling behind,” Haru replied, grinning almost foolishly.
Joy spread through him at such thoughtfulness, but he remained outwardly indifferent . H ethanked them for the sake of common courtesy, however.
“Where’s Shigure?” Yuki inquired, setting the papers inside one of the book covers t prevent them from flying away with a possible breeze.
“He decided that a cripple on crutches can fend for himself his first day using them and went to fuck your brother all day long,” Kyo replied, sounding and acting aggressive for the sake of appearances.
Yuki grimaced. “Didn’t need to know that much. You could’ve just said he was with Ayame.”
Kyo snorted.
“Well, I oughta get going,” Haru commented, standing. “Rin’s waiting. Ja ne.” He jogged off.
Hesitantly, Yuki took the place beside the neko that had been vacated. Kyo grinned and draped an arm across his deceptively frail shoulders, pulling him closer. Yuki cautiously rested his head on Kyo’s shoulder and sighed.
“Tired?”
“Yeah.”
“Do you want to hear that secret I mentioned yesterday?”
“Well, you don’t beat around the bush, do you?”
“It’s faster this way.”
“Sure. Why not?”
“After graduation, I’m not to go to college, I’m not to have my own life, I’m not to come home, and I’m not allowed to get a job. I’m to take my suitcases with me to the ceremony, where Kureno will wait for it to end and take me to the Sohma Estate. Afterwards, I will be shoved into a so-called ‘home’, which will be more or less a cage, and I will never see anyone ever again.” He said it in a abrasive, brisk, matter-of-fact manner. It was easier to admit it in a cold, calm, indifferent tone.
Yuki stared at him with wide, watery, violet eyes. “And Akito…?”
“Will do whatever he wants with me until one of us dies.”
The nezumi threw his arms around the neko. “I don’t want you to leave! I’ll be alone for the rest of my life, and so will you. Why would he do that?”
“Because he’s a sadistic bastard who doesn’t care about anyone.” He let the silence stretch until he finally decided to move on. “So what’s your secret?”
Yuki was quiet for a long while, and Kyo waited patiently. The sun began to set, and during that lime, Shigure called to announce that he was staring at Ayame’s for the night. Finally, Yuki spoke. “I’m afraid….of living the rest of my life….without there to love me. All my life, Akito has told me that no one will ever love me, no matter how hard I try. I know that I’m not alone in this house, but when I move out into the rest of the world, who will be there for me? I’ll have no one who will love me, or whom I can love back. I’ll have to come to Akito, just like he said I would.”
“Well, that, my dearest darlings, is not going to happen,” Hatsuharu suddenly said. Correction, Black Haru, who had somehow managed to sneak up on them. “Not if I have anything to do with it.”
Kyo and Yuki turned and gasped reflexively. “What are you doing here, ox?” Kyo demanded.
~*~Dagger: Yes, I said ox; I’ve heard too many people call him a cow. Cow is for a female bovine, as well as an insult for unwanted and condescended woman, and Hatsuharu Sohma so obviously not female. He is a sexy, heart-throbbing piece of man-flesh. Besides the Chinese Zodiac says OX!! not COW. XP Anyhow………~*~~*~
“Saving the love newly-blooming between the nezumi and the neko,” Rin replied, coming forward as well.
“Who else is in on this?” Kyo asked with a frown.
“Kisa, Hiro, Momiji, and Hatori,” Rin replied happily. “Shigure would be, too, if he wasn’t otherwise occupied.”
“Why?” Yuki queried.
“Because we are all tired of Akito beating the crap out of Kyo on a weekly basis, and it was the last straw when everyone found out Yuki was being raped.” Suddenly, Haru grinned. “By the way, for your information, Kureno is in a coma because of the ass-whooping Kyo gave him.”
Yuki grinned proudly. “So….you’re not mad about me, Kyo?”
“What? Being together? Hell no.”
“why?” This time, it was Kyo.
“We’ve known for a while. Rin had a premonition of sorts, and Tohru agreed that she was aware of the attraction between the two of you, though you guys didn’t acknowledge it until recently. Finally gonna stop pummeling each other?”
“Yes!” They both said in unison.
Rin and Haru smiled. Even so, they could feel the pent-up need for violence in Black Haru. Yuki and Kyo glanced at each other.
“So um, what exactly are you going to do?” Kyo inquired.
Without warning, Haru jerked Kyo to his feet, then swung him onto his back. He squawked and twisted to see Rin collecting the crutches and taking Yuki by the hand. They allexcept Kyo, of coursejogged a good distance until they came to two cars, one vacant while the other had Hatori, Momiji, Hiro, and Kisa inside.
~*~Dagger: Hah! I know, I interrupted for the umpteenth time. MUAHAHAHA. Deal with it, BITCHES!
Knives: Please excuse her. Hyped up on pain meds and antidepressants.
Dagger: *glomps* Oh, you are so CUTE!
Knives: RAPE! RAPE!!
Dagger: Where?!
Knives: *manages to escape*Just tell them what you needed before you lose all sanity.
Dagger: What is sanity? Hee hee! Hatori is thirty, Momiji is fifteen, and Kisa and Hiro are fourteen. Done done.~*~~*~
Kyo was set down in the book of Rin’s black sportscar, and Yuki positioned the injured leg in his lap. The crutches placed on the floor, rin got in the driver’s side while Haru in the passenger.
There were all going to the Sohma Estate.
~*~~*~
Yuki used all his concentration on both rubbing Kyo’s ankle and keeping from shaking. He wanted to be strong for his Kyo-kun.
No, I need a different endearment for him. Everyone calls him that. I want it to be special, not something he hears every day.
Kyo shifted slightly, but his closed eyes remained that way. He was dozing, as he usually did when it rained; the steady precipitation pelted in time to the radio as it had been for a good fifteen minutes.
Only ten more minutes till we get to Akito’s, the nezumi thought nervously.
“Oh, yeah,” Rin said suddenly.
Kyo jerked awake, eyes wide.
“Did I mention that half the Sohma Estate staff are joining us, as well as seventeen mental institution members who are friends of the family?”
“No! That would’ve been an important piece of info to know so I wouldn’t worry myself to a stomach ulcer,” Yuki snapped.
Kyo grinned slightly. “Don’t worry, Yun-yun, Black Haru is ample enough protection against the bastard.”
Yun-yun?
The neko’s grin widened. “Don’t like the name?”
“No…. I mean, it’s fine!”
Kyo frowned, then sat back and closed his eyes again, expression easing slowly.
“Not used to being in a relationship?” Rin commented.
Yuki shook his head slowly, sadly.
“You’ll get the hang of it.”
“So are you uke or seme?” Haru burst out.
Yuki’s pale face burned with red heat.
“Stop embarrassing him, darling,” Rin scolded, and Haru grunted in reply.
They pulled into the driveway shortly, and Yuki helped the neko out, grabbing a large, out-of-date phonebook to hover over the orange head in an attempt to protect against the rain. They hobbled in and found a giant crowd of people huddled around and screaming and irate Akito. As soon as the insane raven saw Kyo on crutchesnot noticing Haru a little ways offhe plowed right through those people separating them, killing intent easily seen in his eyes.
Kyo backed off, startled, stumbled, and fell to the ground with his crutches beside him. Yuki suddenly stepped between them and met Akito’s throat with a tightly clenched fist. Akito fell back, gasping and clutching his throat.
“You little bitch!” he choked, enraged. “How dare you touch me in such a manner. You’ll be punished for such insolence….unless you apologize to me appropriately.”
An anger that Yuki had never felt burned through his blood. He’d never even felt so furious at all the stupid antics Kyo had done before their true relationship began. This pure, unadulterated hatred. He was through with this bastard’s abuse.
All those emotions forced him to step forward and crouch before the head of the Sohmas. His face was cold, eyes hard and glinting in malice. He wanted to rip that pale throat out, but he kept his hands loosely between his knees. Akito smirked in triumph, thinking he’d won.
“Akito….” Yuki said, not even bothering to add the honorific suffix, “go fuck yourself.”
Everyone in the room except Haru and Kyo gasped, though the neko’s eyes widened. Yuki turned an reached down to his beloved, jerking him up to his feet and into a passionate kiss all in one moment.
Right in front of everyone.
The kiss was heated and wet and open-mouthed. The tongues wasted no time in getting acquainted with each other. Yuki’s gripped the cotton material of Kyo’s black shirt, and Kyo’s hands grasped the nezumi’s hipsboth to be close as well as to hold himself up. Kyo’s eyes were closed while Yuki left his open a crack. They panted against each other. Lips clung and were loath to part while their tongues danced and rubbed against each other. The kiss was nothing less than a declaration of their love and devotion for each other.
Fire coursed through Yuki’s blood, and he could feel Kyo’s growing erection against his belly. He watched his love’s expression through his cracked lids, mewling at the combined pleasure of the heat in his veins along with the evidence that he was pleasing his neko. They were barely aware of everyone around them watching with wide eyes, intent only on each other.
Then suddenly, despairingly, Kyo’s eyes snapped open, and he shoved Yuki to the side roughly. The nezumi stumbled away four steps and was caught by a maid. He turned in time to see his love locked in battle with his tormentor.
Akito had a hand clawing at the cat’s throat, and Kyo tore it away, leaving red bleeding lines behind. Then he twisted that arm hard so that something popped loudly. He released the arm and hopped back almost gracefully on his one foot to dodge the other arm’s swing. Hatred blazed hotly in Akito’s dark, hellish eyes.
“Monster! Abomination! You dare touch Yuki-kun, and so blatantly in front of all so that everyone sees your sin. You disgrace this family, and you disgust me. You have pulled the last string to your demise.” Before anyone could stop it, he leapt forward and pressed a pistol that had been hidden in his kimono to Kyo’s head.
Everyone gasped and stepped back. Black Haru writhed and seethed in the hold of four medics restraining him for fear of him causing Akito to pull the trigger.
Yuki’s heart thundered as he watched an arm curl around his love’s neck, pistol pressed to a temple. Akito cackled in triumph and began to drag Kyo back outside. Kyo writhed and fought, eyes shining with unshed tears. They all knew what was going to happen.
Akito was going to cage him.
“No! No! No, Akito, don’t!” Kyo cried, and Yuki was aware that this was the first time he’d actually heard Kyo beg.
“You bastard!” Yuki raged, and he, too, was restrained. “Let him go!”
Akito laughed as he dragged the cat through the rain to a shack with metal bars crisscrossing the pane-less windows. He opened the door to it and shoved Kyo inside, and lightning flashed in finality as the lock clicked. Malevolent laughter sounded. “And there’s no key,” the bastard proclaimed gleefully.
Roars of anger, pain, and terror came form the inside of the shack. “Let me out! Damn you! Let me out!!”
Black Haru ran forward and knocked the gun out of Akito’s hand, then threw the maniac into the waiting arms of men in white coats. Yuki took this chance and ran for the door, jerking on the bars.
There was harsh panting coming from inside. “You bastard!!…. Let me out of here!”
“Kyo! It’ll be okay. I’m here now. I’ll get you out. Just calm down.” Yuki used all his strength to shake the bars, trying to tear them out.
Kyo whimpered, causing the silver-haired boy’s heart to clench. “Yuki,” he whined, and his hand came up to touch the paler one. “Sorry….”
“There’s nothing for you to be sorry about.”
“Claustro….” Then he suddenly burst away and began pounding his entire body against his confines. “Let me out! Damn you!” Scratching noises also came.
Black Haru joined in trying to jerk the bars away. “He has claustrophobia,” Yuki gasped, which seemed to only enrage the younger teen further.
Rin came over with chains and connected them to the bars. Everyone dispersed as she entered her car and started driving. Tires screamed, and mud flew as she punched it full speed until the shack’s wall tumbled and broke away. Haru dashed in and grabbed the hysterical neko, removing him from the area before the rest of the structure collapsed in on itself.
Yuki immediately took Kyo into his arms, his natural strength able to support him. Kyo sobbed agains the slightly shorter and smaller male, sagging with debilitation. The pale hand combed through orange hair soothingly, and then he moved undercover to sit the neko down and curl around him as much as he could in a kneeling position.
Yuki brought the boy’s face up and caught trembling mouth in a sweet and gentle kiss. “Neko-koi,” he whispered, stroking the side of his face. “Aishiteru, koi.”
Kyo hiccupped and curled tighter into Yuki’s body. “Aishiteru, Yun-yun. I love you so much.” He hiccupped again.
Yuki smiled, and the tightness in his heart eased. H would no longer be alone, and Kyo would never be caged and locked away form the rest of the world.
All due the death of secrets….

Kyo was set down in the book of Rin’s black sportscar, and Yuki positioned the injured leg in his lap. The crutches placed on the floor, rin got in the driver’s side while Haru in the passenger.
There were all going to the Sohma Estate.
