Everlasting Dream
A/N: This takes place in the future... Momiji is 19 and Kisa is 16... Hiro is in the picture somewhere...~digs around~ Ah! There you are! ~huggles her Hiro plushie~ Forgive me for such a sucky one-shot
A car was following them, so they drove under the trellis ceiling on the sidewalk. Kisa breathed in relief as she looked behind. No sign of the blue car anywhere. She allowed her focus to fixate on the argument in the front.
"What did you do?! Why do we have a car following us?!" Hiro yelled angrily. The driver shrugged.
"How am I supposed to know? Besides," Haru said as he looked in the rearview mirror, "They're not following us anymore."
Kisa rolled her eyes as she felt her heartbeat slow to a regular pace. She shielded her eyes as they left the shade of the leaves. Suddenly, a force pushed her into the man sitting beside her. His arms wrapped around her protectively.
"Haru! They're back!" And they were ramming Haru's car. Haru cursed as he pushed the accelerator all the way to the floor. He checked out the rearview and side-view mirrors. No one was there. But then what the hell was bumping the car?
The car was forced over in the lane, as the pursuing car pounded roughly into Haru's. Haru gunned the accelerator again, as he moved towards the bridge. Surely, THIS had to work!
The car protested silently, as they drove over the first crease of the bridge. Momiji tightened his hold on Kisa and buried her face into his chest. He smoothed his fingers over her bare skin. She felt his body stiffen, as though they were flying.
The other car quickly came up to their car on the bridge, and rammed once more into the side.
Haru's car could take no more and slid towards the railing and flipped over. The car with the four Soumas fell into the dark churning watery grave below.
Kisa felt her body flying forward, and two strong arms restraining her. She was crying.
"Momiji...Momiji..."
Momiji held her closely to him as the water swirled into the car.
"Shhh...it's going to be all right..." The comfort was not in the words that he said, but in the warmth of his touch on her skin. This embrace was so gentle, so real. She had never had this kind of embrace with Hiro. She lifted her face to look at Momiji...
Her eyes widened at the sudden realization that she was in her lightened room. Momiji was asleep beside her, his arms still around her protectively. He stirred as she attempted to untangle herself from his arms.
"Ohayou Kisa-chan" Momiji looked across the pillow at her. He smiled gently, as his hand reached for her face and lightly stroked her cheek.
"Oha-ayou gozaimasu Momiji-niisan." She looked at him with eyes filled with confusion. She sat up and tucked her legs underneath.
"Are you all right?"
"What do you mean? I'm fine." Kisa waved her hand for emphasis.
"But you were crying..."
"I was crying?" She thought for a moment. "I don't remember crying. But I don't remember the dream either."
"If you were crying because of it, it was no dream Kisa-chan..." Momiji sat up and looked straight at Kisa.
Kisa looked thoughtful for a moment. She continued to stare at Momiji.
"What are you doing here? You've never been in my room before..."
"You've never cried the way you cried tonight... I was worried."
"But you're not even by my room.."
"I felt like there was something wrong, and I walked until I heard it."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. I felt like this was where I should be." Momiji smiled softly at the girl across from him. Kisa blushed as Momiji reached for her cheek.
"Momiji?"
"What about Hiro?"
"Hiro and I.... friends."
"What happened in your nightmare?"
"I called out for you. I wanted *your* arms around me...comforting me...holding me."
"Kisa..." Momiji lowered his face to hers. His breath tickled her lips before he claimed her mouth with his own.
"I'm here now..."

A/N: Ok....just to clear up any confusion... The beginning of the story is a nightmare that Kisa's been having... and Momiji holds her because she was crying - and Momiji's just too dang sweet to let her be sad... My mood is somewhat changing... eventually, I will be going back to my other stories... but I warned you that it wouldn't be any good...
