Chapter Eleven: Let's Play Go Fish!
By: Demon Priestess Saturn

Kyo, Yuki, Tohru, and Hatori came back to Shigure's later that night. The drive home had been uneventful though Tohru had insisted on sitting in the back with Yuki. Kyo wasn't too happy with it but he was too tired to argue with her. That and all he could think about what Yuki had told him earlier. As much as he was shocked to hear the situation with Akito and Haru, he was also concerned with the comment Akito had made to Yuki. As they entered the house they were greeted by silence. Hatori glanced around before setting his coat down and walking into the kitchen.

“I wonder where Shigure-san and Ayame-san are.” Tohru said calmly.
“Who cares…” Yuki mumbled almost to himself.
“All I know is I want to get something to calm my mind.” Kyo opened the door to the living room.
“Go fish.” Ayame and Shigure looked up from his cards.
“Ayame-san… Shigure-san…” Tohru blinked a few times as she looked at the two. They sat on either side of the table in the center of the room with a deck of cards on the table in between them. Hatori walked in a few minutes later and raised a brow.
“Oh… You ruined it…” Ayame pouted.
“Ruined what?” Kyo glared. “All I can see is that you are playing go fish.”
“Exactly…” Ayame folded his arms. “How are we supposed to pretend to be doing obscene things in the bedroom if you don't call and tell us when you're coming home?”
“What.” Kyo looked annoyed.
“Tsk tsk.” Shigure shook his head. “Now all the fun is ruined. I guess we are going to have to do something else.”
“But you weren't doing anything.” Kyo grumbled.
“That's exactly the point. How are we supposed to put on a grand show if we don't know when you are going to come home?” Ayame dramatized. “Oh Shigure our play is ruined.
“Yes it would appear so. But that means one thing!” Shigure smiled happily.
“Yes! We will have to make them leave and call us before they come home.” Ayame boasted.
“Knock it off.” Hatori said calmly.
“Okay.” Ayame smiled.
“Do you have an eight?” Shigure smiled.
“I'm going to bed.” Yuki mumbled as he headed for the stairs.
“Oh Yuki.” Shigure turned and looked at the rat as he began to retreat up the stairs.
“Huh?” Yuki glanced back at Shigure.
“Hiro called and said that he needed to talk to you. So he wants you to call him back.” Shigure smiled.
“Hiro…” Yuki looked confused.
“Yuki! Why don't you come play cards with us? I'm sure we will have lots of fun.” Ayame asked boldly.
“Ayame. Yuki needs to rest.” Hatori sat down at the table.
“Hatori-san would you like some tea?” Tohru smiled happily.
“Yes that would be nice.” Hatori looked at her.
“I would like some too.” Ayame shouted.
“Yes Tohru dear could you please get us some tea.” Shigure looked at her.
“Of course.” Tohru wondered out of the room.
“She's not your slave you know.” Kyo snapped as he pulled a book off the shelf.
“Now Kyo calling Tohru your slave, what kind of boyfriend are you?” Shigure shook his head.
“I'm not calling her my slave you are!” Kyo snapped.
“Oh Kyo's abusing me. Please help Tohru.” Shigure said dramatically.
“I'm not abusing anyone!” Kyo yelled.
“Honestly how is Yuki supposed to get some sleep with all your shouting Kyo.” Ayame shook his head.
“I wouldn't be shouting if you two weren't being so stupid.” Kyo glared. Yuki sighed and shook his head and continued up the stairs.
“Here you go.” Tohru said happily as she brought in six tea cups. She handed one to Hatori and set two on the table for Ayame and Shigure.
“Thank you.” Hatori thanked her.
“Here you go Kyo.” Tohru handed a cup to Kyo.
“Thanks.” Kyo mumbled and walked into the other room.
“Where's Yuki?” Tohru looked around.
“The boogie monster has abducted him and drug upstairs.” Shigure said as he stared at his cards.
“Oh no! Yuki!” Tohru ran upstairs. Shigure and Ayame looked at each other with grins on their faces. The two glanced at Hatori as he set his cup of tea down on the table and drew five cards from the deck.
“Got any tens?”

......................

“Yuki?” Tohru reached the top of the stairs panting. Yuki turned around in the hall just before going into his room and looked at her.
“Yes?” Yuki looked at her.
“Your okay.” Tohru panted.
“You thought I wasn't?” Yuki looked at her strangely.
“Shigure said the boogie monster got you.” Tohru looked confused.
“Yes he would say something like that wouldn't he?” Yuki sighed.
“Are you going to bed?” Tohru looked at him.
“Yeah. I'm really tired.” Yuki said as he looked at the floor.
“Here.” Tohru smiled as she handed him the teacup she was still holding. “I spilled a little of it coming up the stairs. But it'll make you feel better. You must be exhausted after that attack.”
“Thank you.” Yuki took the teacup from her and smiled lightly. Tohru smiled brightly back at him.
“Goodnight.” She said.
“Night.” Yuki said just as Kyo came tramping up the stairs.
“God damn it. Now they got Hatori playing cards.” Kyo mumbled.
“Hatori is playing cards?” Tohru looked at Kyo.
“I swear Shigure and Ayame belong in the nut house.” Kyo snapped.
“Kyo.” Yuki looked at him.
“What.” Kyo glared.
“Go to bed. You're snapping.” Yuki said before he walked into his room.
“Go to bed… Well that was a rude way to say that rat boy. I should kick your ass for even saying that in the first place.” Kyo walked over to Yuki's door.
“Kyo… We're both tired and I am not in the mood to put up with you.” Yuki glared.
“Well then maybe you shouldn't have said anything at all rat boy.” Kyo grinned lightly.
“Kyo you are starting to annoy me.” Yuki said as he gave him a glare.
“Please don't fight.” Tohru looked scared.
“We aren't fighting.” Kyo said to her.
“Don't worry about it Miss Honda.” Yuki smiled at her.
“But you had your asthma attack and Kyo you're…” Tohru looked between the two.
“Its only play fighting. We aren't going to hurt each other.” Yuki said calmly.
“Yeah were just arguing for the sake of arguing.” Kyo folded his arms and put them behind his head.
“Oh…” Tohru looked confused. It was silent for a moment before Kyo turned and headed to his room.
“Night Yuki.” Kyo said as he walked into his room.
“Night.” Yuki watched Kyo as he walked off.
“I don't get it.” Tohru looked back at Yuki.
“Don't worry about it Miss Honda.” Yuki smiled.
“Yuki.” Tohru walked over to him.
“What is it?” He looked as her with concern in his eyes. Tohru hugged him suddenly and he transformed.
“I was so scared.” Tohru started to cry. “I thought I was going to loose you.” Tohru said as she hugged the little gray rat.
“It's okay Miss Honda.” Yuki looked up at her with his big black eyes. “Everything's okay.”

......................

A few weeks had passed since the incident at the hospital and Kyo was becoming agitated again. He was back to trying to apologize to Kagura and yet again he was running into the hung up phone.

“She didn't seem that mad at me.” Kyo grumbled hanging up the phone just as Yuki walked in the door.
“Problems?” Yuki asked.
“Yeah that damn boar is still hanging up the fucking phone on me and it's driving me nuts.” Kyo snapped lightly.
“Then try again.” Yuki said sarcastically.
“Listen rat boy if you think you can do better then you try.” Kyo tossed the cordless phone at Yuki.
“Okay.” Yuki said as he dialed the number. “Hello.” Yuki narrowed his eyes slightly. “Is Kagura there? This is Yuki. Can I talk to her?” Kyo stared with his mouth open at the rat as he waited. “I think I found the source of your problem Kyo. Hi Kagura… Actually Kyo wanted to talk to you. Hang on.” Yuki handed the phone over to the shocked orange cat.
“Kagura. Hey. Yeah I've been trying to call you for over…” Kyo looked confused and glanced at the phone.
“What's the matter now?” Yuki looked at him.
“The phone went dead.” Kyo looked back at him. Yuki couldn't help but smile. “What's going on?”
“Okay Kyo think for a minute. Who lives in that house other than Kagura and her mom?” Yuki asked.
“Isuzu does why?” The phone rang and Kyo answered it. “Hello? Hey. What happened?” Kyo narrowed his eyes as the phone hung up again. “Damn it.” He muttered.
“Loose her again?” Yuki asked.
“What does Isuzu living in that house have to do with anything?” Kyo asked.
“I don't know maybe because she hates you.” Yuki looked at him trying to get him to figure it out.
“So what.” Kyo didn't get it.
“Has she been answering the phone?” Yuki asked.
“I don't know she could…” Kyo had a sudden flash of Isuzu pulling the plug on the phone. “That bitch has been hanging up the phone on me.” Kyo glared at the phone.
“So I suggest you go to Kagura's house and talk to her in person.” Yuki said as he sat down on the couch.
“I'll kill her.” Kyo put the phone away and grabbed his coat. He stopped a minute later and looked at Yuki and then back at the phone.
“If she calls I will tell her you're coming.” Yuki said as he rested his head on the back of the couch.
“Wait. If you are here, and so am I. Isuzu is home and so is Kagura. Who's watching Haru?” Kyo looked at Yuki. Yuki looked back at him and sighed.
“Don't worry about Haru. Hiro's with him today.” Yuki said.
“When did Hiro find out?” Kyo looked at him.
“I guess Rin told him.” Yuki shrugged. “All he said when he got to the hospital was it was his turn to watch him. I think he said Rin had something else to do.”
“Isuzu had something more important to do than to watch Haru?”

………………….

“Isuzu!” Kagura whined. “Why did you do that? Kyo wanted to talk to me.”
“Because he's a jerk and he deserves it.” Isuzu said calmly.
“But he finally decided to talk to me after two months.” Kagura looked at the floor.
“Yeah well he shouldn't have been such an idiot.” Isuzu grumbled and she headed over to the front door.
“Where are you going?” Kagura asked.
“I have something I need to do.” Isuzu said as she walked out the door. Kagura watched her leave before she plugged the phone back in and dialed Shigure's number. “Hey Yuki! I was looking… Oh he's coming over here… Okay thanks bye.” Kagura smiled as she hung up the phone and skipped off to her room. Kyo was coming over to visit her.

………………….

Isuzu wondered up the stairs to the main house and snuck inside. She glanced around as she softly closed the door behind her. She looked down the dark halls making sure no one was around. When she was satisfied she walked down the hall heading towards the main room. She opened the door quietly to see Akito sitting by the window. He seemed to be staring up at the stars that were just appearing in the sky. As Isuzu stepped inside she shut the door behind her a little hard. It made a thump against the wall causing Akito to look over at her. At first they glared harshly at each other and then slowly Akito stood up and walked over to her.

“What is it now?” Akito's voice was cold.
“Why?” Isuzu continued to glare.
“Why what?” Akito pretended not to know what she was talking about.
“We had a deal and you broke your end of the bargain.” Isuzu snapped.
“Don't you know Isuzu that I don't keep my word?” Akito tilted his head to the side. “He disobeyed me. He needed to be punished.”
“With his life Akito?” Isuzu snapped. “Haru doesn't deserve to die for standing up to you.” Akito suddenly slapped Isuzu a crossed the face making her trip and fall to the floor. Akito walked over to her. Grabbing her hair he roughly pulled back her head.
“Perhaps I need to teach you a lesson again.” Akito's eyes flashed with anger.
“Can't be any worse then what you have already done.” Isuzu snapped. Akito suddenly threw her head first into the wall.
“Can't be any worse. Then maybe I should make it worse.” Akito said angrily as Isuzu tried to push herself up. “You don't know what worse is.” Akito kicked her in the chest snapping one of her ribs. Isuzu screamed out and fell back down. “Does it hurt? I hope so.” Akito slammed his foot down on her back. Isuzu screamed out again and for a moment after that it was quiet.
“Akito…” Isuzu said weakly as she pushed herself onto her side. “You wont win…”
“I wont will I?” Akito leaned down and whispered in her ear. “You know it's your fault. If you hadn't dated Haru in the first place, he would have never come here that day… He wouldn't be in the hospital bed sure to never awaken if it hadn't been for you.”
“Enough tricks…” Isuzu tried to ignore Akito's words but she couldn't. She knew it was her fault.
“Tricks… Didn't Hatori tell you the truth? Haru is never going to wake up. The damage to his brain was too severe.” Akito smirked. Isuzu's eyes went wide. “I was only trying to relieve his pain when I went there three weeks ago. Hatori is too weak and afraid to pull the plug and let him go.”
“You're lying.” Isuzu was almost crying.
“Lying? Why would I lie? It's the truth. Haru's going to die and it's all your fault.” Akito ran his thin finger down her exposed belly. “Now then. I do believe you have stepped out of line. So I'll let you sit in your despair for the rest of your miserable existence.” Akito grabbed Isuzu's head. He slammed her head down on the hardwood floor. “Nobody disobeys god.”

End Chapter Eleven

Hi everyone. I'm sorry about the confusion in the last chapter. I went back a fixed the errors. I also was getting a lot of complaints about the way I portrayed Isuzu. So I went back and looked at the manga's. I don't think I have her inaccurate but since it's bothering my readers I am going to have to change it. I apologize for any making anyone unhappy. I feel really bad because I got a lot of complaints last chapter. In fact it seems I've been getting a lot this entire story. I hope that doesn't mean I'm slipping… Oh well. Let's just see how well this chapter does. Thanks again for reading.
