Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ Hold Me Now ❯ Hold Me Now ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
A/N: Alright! I have a couple things to say before we get started. The First one being that this is Implied HaruxKyo ( in other words shounen ai, boyxboy stuff) so if this isn't your preferrence then please don't read.
My second comment is that I'm not trying to say anything about God. I'm not saying there is or isn't one or anything like that, it's just an opinion and not even mine really, it's more of Kyo's.
My last comment is please enjoy! I hope you like it and do review if you can. Thank you.
Hold Me Now
Haru asked me if I believed there was a God today. We were sitting by the lake. Our shoes were off, lying neatly beside us and I had been cooling off my feet in the refreshing water. The lush, green grass sprouted wildly from the ground beneath us. The sun had been setting. I remember pondering the answer to his question as I gazed into the orange and pink painted sky.
I replied after some time. I told him,
“No, I don’t think there is.”
He responded immediately, asking me why I thought so.
I told him, if there was a God, would he really make a life so cruel?
He turned to look at me. He was frowning slightly and seemed depressed by my reaction.
“Life isn’t as cruel as you think, Kyo.”
I snorted in reply. What did he know anyway? He’s not the one who’s an outcast. He’s not the one whose family has shunned him his whole life. He’s not the one who’s a monster. He’s not the one who’s going to get locked up.
Just thinking about it made me angry. What right did he have to say that! He hasn’t been through my hell so he shouldn’t talk about it like he knows how it feels.
He started laughing suddenly. I stared at him as the laughter came bubbling out of him. I was about to ask him what was so funny when he spoke first.
“Isn’t it a beautiful night?” He inquired.
I hadn’t noticed that the sun had already set. The full moon shone brightly among the inky blackness of the rest of the sky. Few stars were visible but the magnificence of it all was not obscured.
Haru was sitting back, leaning on his hands. His head was tilted up towards the sky and a light smile was playing on his lips as he asked this. He looked gorgeous.
That’s when I realized it. Being here, in this moment, with Haru, that had to be a blessing. Life couldn’t be hell with him here. Maybe someone really was watching over me. I mean I was lucky enough to have Haru.
I finally answered his question.
“Yeah, it’s perfect.” I told him, with a smile of my own.
