Tohru ran down the hallway with pink slippers flapping on the hard-wood floors, hurrying to see what had created the ruckus in the backyard a moment before.
She had been in the middle of undressing for a morning bath, a white towel clutched around her top while her purple shorts peeked from underneath. She had heard a crash and Yuki scream and had almost forgotten herself in her mad dash from the bathroom and down the stairs that she almost forgot that she was half-naked. Oh well. She sighed, It's not as if all of them haven't seen me naked. The time that Haru-chan, Yuki and Kyo busted through the door to her room while in persuit of Momiji-chan had given all of them a good view of her while changing, momiji-chan had run up to her covering her body by standing in front of her and strictly ordering the staring boys out of the room "No-one is allowed to see Tohru-chan nekid!".
By the time she reached the garden chaos had erupted, all in the form of a orange-haired boy sitting on a pile of wood in the middle of Yuki's leek portion. "How dare you!" Yuki was sputtering as his face turned red in anger. "You had no right!"
Kyo sat, face a mask of mock innocence. "I stumbled thats all. You know I would never touch your beautiful..." he choked. "leeks."
"Kyo." Tohru rounded the corner and came face-to-face with the cousins. "Kyo, Yuki was only picking those for me for dinner tonight so that I could make a substantial broth for the fish but," she winked at Yuki. "I can always send Momiji-chan to the store for them since I know that you love them so much." Her arms snaked over her chest, holding up the bit of cloth that shielded her from the breeze and turned to Yuki. "Thank you Yuki. The effort was much appreciated and the thought, after I take my shower I should like to help you salvage what we can from your crops yield... Unless Kyo would be so kind?" She smiled, looked at each in turnand padded away, Knowing full well that the mess would be cleaned up by the time that she was done with her shower.
Halfway up the stairs again and longing to have the warm water soothe her aches away she ran into Shigure coming from the opposite direction and smiled, her eyes brightening. "Good morning Shigure-san, I hope that you slept well?"
Shigure returned the glimmer of familiarity and spoke his eyes never leaving her face. "You know that was a bit of something that I rarely see in you, the understanding that you have a sort of -how to say- control over them. but then again Kyo may have been aiming for the leeksbut he did it with neither purpose nor spite. When he fell from the roof, (after again trying to repair another hole) he was aiming for the strawberry patch and not being the only one in this house who knows of your fondness for them, shifted his own weight to change where he would land but also took out his culinary nemesis in the process." A smirk graced his features as he allowed time for it to sink in. "Just don't be too hard on him." And he continued his stride down the hall, pausing only briefly to pluck a assortment of chocolate from a raised bowl. "There will be a time when you will fully understand the sway that you hold Princess..." If there was anything else that was said it was lost to the room beyond and to the awaiting shower steaming just enough to melt everything, (including herself) out of existance.
