Yuki and Tohru are married and they have a daugther Sakura. One day Tohru falls in love with someone else and wants to divorce with Yuki causing him to lose faith in love and kindness. Things get complicated when Sakura wants to meet her mother.
Chapter 1: Moment of darkness.
" I want a divorce". Out of the blue it came like that. It was one usual evening after dinner and no one would expect or even suspect Tohru would make such a request. It was the darkest moment of his life. When she uttered those words to him after being married for 4 years he found it hard to believe. She was his first love and they courted since high school. " I'm serious Yuki." he felt so weak suddenly. He didn't really know how to react. There was never a need to handle this situaition. Yuki believed their marriage had a strong foundation for he truly loved her and her only. Didn't Tohru love her as much ? "Why?" he asked calmly.he refrained himself from screaming at her. They needed to talk and not bicker or fight. Anger doesn't solve problems, it will only worsen the already tense situation.
" Yuki forgive me............." "Tohru, I don't understand. Look we can talk about anything. Surely there'll be a way to settle things". Tohru looked at him, her face expressed the guilt that she felt. What she said next made his heart shatter. The pain from such a betrayal was too much to bear." I'm in love with someone else." Yuki stared at her mortified. She had an affair behind his back. He was shocked into silence. He couldn't utter a word in reply. Finally after an uncomfortable pause, he stammered "What about......... Sakura?" " Sakura can stay with you: I'll visit her when I come back. I'm moving to US."
He wanted to protest. He had every right to. She had wronged him. How could she be unfaithful? She is married! Damn it. What did he lack? He could make things difficult by not agreeing but Tohru is in love with someone else. He had no choice but to give in. She was so determined. " I'm moving out tonight." Yuki was too upset to reply. The moment she went out of the house, he broke down and cried.Yuki didn't expect such a turn in his life. He felt cheated and betrayed.
