Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ Now or Never ❯ Hello new person!! ^^ ( Chapter 1 )

Tohru woke up to a blazing sun. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. She got up and went inot the bathroom. She washed her face and then brushed out her hair. She got dressed in her school uniform and then put her hair up the way it always is.
Tohru made her way down the stairs and into the kitchen to start breakfast. Kyo walked into the room and went up to the fridge. He got the milk out and started drinking it.

"Good morrning Kyo!" Tohru said with a smile.

"Why are you always so damn perky? Even in the morrnings." Kyo asked. Tohru had a blank look.

"What do you mean?"

"Your always so happy. Why is that!"

"Because I'm glade to be working in this house!" Tohru smiled and set the table. She get the cooking done after a while and set everything up. It wasn't untill later after when Yuki and Shigure came in. Everyone sat down to eat.

"Bye Shigure!" Tohru called back with a smile. She turned around and started heading off to school. Shigure held Kyo and Yuki back because he had to talk to them for a little while.

"Kyo, Yuki, we're gonna have to make some extra living space in the house for a while." Shigure stated.

"Why? Are we having a guest here for a while?" Yuki asked.

"Why the hell do we need any more people stayin in ths damn house!" Kyo yelled.

"Kyo, be reasonable for once in your life..."

"I AM REASONABLE!"

"And you call acting like a spoiled brat reasonable?"

"..Grrr... WHO ASKED YOU, YOU DAMN RAT!"

"No one. Ever herd of being able to speak?"

"Why you-!"

"Okay! Well back to the making more room part!" Shigure cutted in.

"Okay, who's gonna stay here." Yuki asked.

"Well, it's a new member of our family that we havn't really met before. No one has except for Momiji... And the obvius, Akito who is having them move in here. Momiji went to go meet our new member last month."

"Is that why he went to America?"

"Yes as a matter of fact it is. You see, this person isn't really quite aware of all of us and what the curse is."

"Are they even cursed?"

"Yes."

"What animal is he?"

"Like it really matters! As long as he don't annoy me i'm fine with him!" Kyo stated. Shigure smirked.

"TOHRU!! TOHRU!!" A voice yelled. Tohru turned around and saw Momiji running at her.

"Momiji! Hi!" Tohru replied. Momiji stoped infront of her. He was panting a little but then got better. "What's up?"

"Theres someone that's gonna be waiting for you and me... And Yuki, Kyo and Haru."

"Wha-? When? Who?"

"Heehee. You'll find out! I just wanted to tell you that so when you see Kyo and Yuki, tell them to wait for Haru and I okay?"

"Okay."

"Oh! And papa said that you don't have to work tonight sense I have to go to your house." The bell rung. "Whoops. Bye bye Tohru!!"

"Bye Momiji!" Momiji took off running again to his class and then Tohru went to hers. She saw Yuki and Kyo there and so she told them.

"We already know." Yuki said.

"Eh? You do?! But how!?" Tohru asked.

"Shigure." Kyo and Yuki said at the same time.

"Er...."

"If you want to know who this person is, don't ask us. We have no clue so don't even bother askin'."

"O-okay!" Torhu sat down. It seemed to be a long day of anticipation to see who this person was. 'Oh! I hope it's a new member of the zodiac! I hope it's a girl!!!' Tohru thought in her head. When it was finally time to go, Haru, Momiji, Yuki, Kyo and Tohru all met up with each other at the front of the school. Tohru looked at Momiji who seemed a little worried. Tohru looked up at the gate and saw a girl around Momiji and Haru's age with jeans on and a light blue hoody on. She had interesting bangs that kinda looked like a mixture or Yuki's and Shigure's. Her hair looked like it was a light silvery purple with the front strans looking darker than the rest. Her hair was in a bun thingy with the strans so that's how you could tell.. She was also carrying a himp bag/purse thing.

Momiji smiled.

"LI!" Momiji yelled. Haru, Yuki, Kyo and Tohru all looked up and saw her. The girl looked up and smiled. Momiji was running at her with open arms.

"What is that damn rabit thinking?!" Kyo asked in a annoyed tone. Momiji ran up to the girl and they both hugged. Tohru was stunned.

'H-H-HE DIDN'T TURN INTO A RABIT!!!!..... *gasp* That must mean...... SHE'S PART OF THE ZODIAC!' Tohru yelled in her head. 'But what animal is she? I don't think any animal could have fur or hair, or ever scales like those colors!' Momiji came back with the girl following behind.

"Guy's meet Li! She moved here from America!" Momiji said with a smile. Li smiled some. "She dosn't talk much. She's kinda like how Kisa was."

"N-no! You can't be like that! Y-you shouldn't let people tease you!" Tohru stated. Li gave Tohru a assuring smile.

"It's not like that Tohru. She just can't talk right now. Her voice isn't really working for her right now."

'She's such a pretty girl when she smiles! I can't wait to hear her talk!' Tohru said in her head.

"I think we should get going." Yuki stated. "It kinda looks like it's going to rain." They all started heading for Shigure's house. Everyone was talking on the way there.... Besides Li. When they got their a older guy who looked around the age of 19 was standing in the front talking with Hatori and Shigure. They guy had blondish-brownish hair. Hatori looked up and then so did the other two. They guy with blondish brown hair stood up and so did Hatori and Shigure.

"Who the hell is that?" Kyo asked.

"That's her brother." Haru replied.

"I-is he a member of the zodiac too?!" Tohru asked with stars in her eyes. Li shook her head no. "Aw." They all walked up to the house and Shigure smiled.

"So! This must be Leina!" Shigure said with a smile. "Welcome! Your brother was telling me about you." Shigure looked at Tohru and everyone. "Oh! Right! This is Tohru. She's the girl who lives here with us. Tohru, everyone, please meet Greg, Leina's older brother.

"It's very nice to meet you!" Tohru said.

"Whatever i'm going inside." Kyo said. Tohru had a bead of sweat appear on the back of her head.

"Great idea! Let's all go inside!" Shigure said. So everyone headed inside. "Momiji, why don't you show Leina around some okay?"

"Okay!" Momiji grabbed Li's hand. "Come on! I'll show you Yuki's, Kyo's, and Tohru's rooms! And then some more around. Okay?" Li nodded. Momiji lead her off and they started walking around the house.

"Why don't you all sit down?" Shigure asked. He, Hatori, and Greg were all sitting. So, Haru, Yuki, Kyo and Tohru all sat down.

"Exactly what zodiac animal is she?" Kyo asked.

"What ever it is it must look pretty different from the colors of her hair.... Is that even her natural hair color?" Yuki asked.

"Yes it is." Greg stated. "See, we just found out about hre curse about a couple of months ago. Befor that, we had no idea. It's probably why she stayed away from peopl so much. She was afriad of transforming."

"What animal is she though." Haru asked.

"We don't know." Hatori chimed in. "All we know is that she's one of the zodiac, and she was sent here by Akito's orders."

"When will we find out?" Yuki asked.

"We're not sure."

"She hasn't even told me yet. I hugged her a couple a months ago because she was upset. Then there was a big poof and I herd her room door slam shut. When the smoke was gone, all that was there was her clothes. I tryed to go into the room, but it was locked." Greg said. He thought for a while. "Then again Kelsey, my twin, could've picked her up and put her in her room. She's the only person who's seen Li as the animal she's cursed by."

"Why dosn't she talk much? We're not going through another Kisa thing are we?" Kyo asked kinda annoyed.

"No. She just hasn't really had the will to speak. She has spoken to Momiji, but him and Akito are the only ones who've really herd her talk out of the all of us here." Hatori said.

Tohru was really worried about Li. What if she dosn't talk, but only around Momiji? What if she's to ashamed to even say what zodiac animal she is? Tohru was really upset about this. She got up and ran out of the room.

"Tohru?!" Kyo called at her.

"Honda-san!" Yuki said while getting up.

"It's fine. Just sit down." Shigure assured. Yuki sat back down and everyone started talking again.

"And this is Tohru's room!" Momiji said while opening the door. Li looked around in it and smiled. "Your gonna like it here! Tohru is really nice! Kyo is just grumpy and Yuki is nice also. Shigure is weird, just to warn you, and I can come cover any time that I can!!" Li looked out the window. Momiji looked at Li asnd smiled. "Wanna go up on the roof? I've been up there it's fun! Kyo gose up there when he's....um.. Sulcing? I think that's it. Oh well. Anyways, wanna go?!" Li smiled. "Yay! Let's go!" Momiji turned to run out and just as he did he bumped into Tohru and Poof. The smoke cleared and under Momiji's clothes was Momiji as a bunny. Li looked like she was panicing.

"OH MY GOSH! MOMIJI I'M SORRY!" Tohru said franticly.

"It's okay Tohru! Nothing to worry about!" Momiji assured. "Can I go into the restroom untill I change back so I can change in there?"

"S-sure!" Tohru opened the bathroom door and put Momiji's clothes on the toilet seat. Momiji hopped in and then Tohru closed the door. Tohru looked at Li who had a confused and worryed look on her face. "What wrong Li?" Li looked up and then shook her head some. "You can tell me if somthings wrong. If you don't want to, i'm sure that you'd rather tell it to Momiji or someone..... Did somthing happen?" Li sat down. She looked sad and about to cry. Yuki came up the stairs but then stopped when he saw Tohru and Li sitting in the hallway. "What happened?"

"I....mm..." Li started. Yuki came up by Tohru.

"Li if your not ready to say anything to anyone other than Momiji that's fine."

"You don't have to feel pressured to tell us anything." Yuki added. Li looked down and looked like she had tears filling in her eyes. The bathroom door opened and Momiji came out.

"I'm done!" Momiji stated with a smile. He saw Li and his smile faded. He squated down infront of Li. "Li, are you upset again?" Li had a tear go down her face. Momiji looked upset. He held his arms out and Li leaned forward and fell into Momiji crying. Tohru and Yuki were actually pretty surprised. They'd never seen Momiji like this. More serius than the kiddish way he normaly is. Li looked like she was sobbing. Momiji had a look of sympathy on his face.

"Honda-san I think we should leave them alone for a bit." Yuki guessed. Tohru got up and her and Yuki both left. They got downstairs and sat down. Tohru was very worried about Li. She just looked down at the table the whole time.

"Tohru, what's wrong?" Shigure asked. Tohru looked up.

"Eh? Oh! I-it' nothing..." Tohru replied. She looked at Yuki. He just shook his head no. Greg stood up from the table.

"I better be going." Greg remarked. Momiji and Li came into the room. "It was very nice meeting all of you. I wish I could stay, but I have to get back home to the states." Li's eyes filled with sadness. Greg started heading for the front door and then walked out. Li's eyes started watering and she ran after him.

"Li!" Momiji yelled. He ran after her and so did everyone else.

"Greg!" Li yelled. Greg turned around and Li seemed to jump at her brother. She hugged him and then there was a poof. When the smoke cleared, everyone was in confusment. In gregs arms was a small light silvery purple bunny with a little bit darker ears. But how could she be a bunny if Momiji was the bunny? How can there be two bunnys?!

"EH?!" Tohru kinda yelled.

"How can there be two?" Haru asked.

"YAY! ANOTHER BUNNY!" Momiji cheered. Greg smiled.

"Bye Li." Greg said. Momiji ran up and took Li. He also took her clothes and then walked back up by everyone. Tohru looked at Li. She looked so scared and upset. Li jumped out of Momijis arms and then hopped inside.

"Li! Come back!" Momiji went to run after her but Shigure held his hand up infront of him. Tohru ran after Li who was goin up the stairs.

"We better be going." Hatori said.

"Harii, can I please stay the night? Just to make sure that Li is okay and everything?" Momiji asked. Hatori looked at Shigure and Shigure smiled.

"I don't mind, Momiji you can stay if you like." Shigure said.

"Fine you can stay. I'll pick you up in the morrning. Bye." Hatori stated and him and Haru both left.

Li hopped into the room she was staying in and went under her chair. Tohru followed her into her room. "Li-san?" Tohru went looked under the chair and saw Li currled up into a little ball. Tohru moved the chair and Li jumped a little. She turned around and saw Tohru. "Why were you so upset about the animal you transform in? I think it's adorable!"

"...You wouldn't understand...." Li said. Tohru's happy face faded into a concerning face.

"I know. I don't know what it's like to be turned into a animal every time I was hugged by a guy, besides the cursed guys. I bet it's really hard. I don't know what happened over at your home in America, but I know that your home is here now, a-and i'm gonna be part of it, so we're all gonna be like a family."

".......I didn't have a real family.. I didn't even know Greg untill three years ago, and then I found out that I was cursed.. First time it happened was after school. No one knows what happened because Harii came over with Momiji to suppress their memories. That's when I met Momiji. He's the only person who I really talk to because he knows what it's like to turn into a rabbit."

"You dont have to keep it a secret around here with your family. They all know what your going through."

"I know... It's just, it's really hard for me because people keep asking me if this color is my natural hair color, and it is. People don't really belive me... And they ask where I got my contacts, I don't have contacts my eyes just change colors, it's not my fault I was just born with it.."

"You know, Kisa, she's posesed by the Tiger and she had the same problem. She comes over alot, so you'll see her here every now and then." There was a knock on the door and Momiji came in.

"Li? Are you okay?" Momiji asked.

"I'm fine..." Li said.

"I brought your clothes up for when you change back. I'll just leave them here okay?" Momiji set the clothes on a desk.

"Okay.. Thank you.." Momiji closed the door. There was a poof and Li turned back to normal. Tohru turned around while Li was putting on her clothes. When she was done she walked up to Tohru and gave her a hug. Tohru smiled and huged back.

"I like your hair. It's so pretty and long!" Li smiled.

"Thank you."

"HEY! WHAT'S FOR DINNER I'M STARVIN!!" Kyo yelled from down stairs.

"Oh! R-right! Comeing!!" Tohru yelled. She left the room and went down stairs into the kitchen to start dinner. Li sat down on her bed. She picked up a hair tie and pulled her hair back. She got up and went down stairs.

"Momiji your still sitting out here? But it's so cold." Shigure said. Momiji sighed.

"I'm waiting for Li. I'm worryed." Momiji replied. "But I know she's fine if she was talking to Tohru!" Momiji smiled when he said that. "Tohru can cheer any one up!" Shigure smiled.

"Yes, i'd have to agree with you there. Why don't you come in? Tohru's made dinner and it looks great...Not that all of her food isn't great!" Momiji smiled and jumped up.

"Okay!" Him and Shigure walked into the dinning room and they saw the table filled with food. "YAY! Tohru food!!!!" Momiji ran over and sat down. Yuki, and Kyo came into the room and sat down too. So did Shigure. Tohru came in with a tea pot in her hands.

"I hope this is enough! Sorry that it took me a while!" Tohru said while setting the tea pot on the table and then sitting down. She looked around. "Where's Li?"

"Heh..." Shigure chucked, and then pointed up. "She's like a mini Kyo. She's up on the roof."

"That's my place!!!!" Kyo yelled.

"Oh shut up you stupid cat." Yuki said. "She can go where she wants. It's not like your up there right now anyways."

"Oh yeah? Well what if I WANTED to go up there!! Ever think about that?!"

"No, and I don't intend to ever think of you."

"GOOD! WHO ASKED YOU ANYWAYS!!!"

"You two remind me of a old pair of women bickering... Bicker bicker bicker! That's all you two do." Shigure stated.

"WHO ASKED YOU!"

"No one. I just felt like speaking up." Momiji got up and went to the roof. He looked and saw Li.

"Li? Don't you want any food? It's cold out what are you doing up here?" Momiji asked.

"I came up here because I wanted a better veiw of the sunset." Li replied. Momiji walked up by her and sat down.

"Tohru made some food, don't you want any?" Li looked at Momiji and smiled. Momiji smiled and then they both got off the roof and went inside. "I found Li!" Momiji sat down and Li sat down by him.

"Li-san, are you feeling better?" Shigure asked. Li looked up and smiled.

"I'm fine thank you." Li replied. Everyone ate for a while.

"So! What was it like at your old school??"

"Boring."

"Heh."

"Did you join any clubs or anything?" Yuki asked.

"I was in band and art. Those were my favorite subjects. I just don't like marching. That wears you out." Li replied.

"So, do you draw alot?" Shigure asked.

"She draws non-stop!" Momiji stated. "When I was up there that's all she ever did was draw or play some instroment! She was always so busy!"

"I like to be busy." Li said with a small smile. "It keeps me entertained and gives me somthing to do."

"What else do you like to do?" Tohru asked.

"I like to fight and stuff, like the martial arts. I know you don't really expect a girl to do this stuff, but I like to."

"Alright! Another opponite!!" Kyo said with a smirk.

"Shut up Kyo. She can probably whoop you butt." Yuki said and then took a sip of his drink.

"SHUT UP RAT BOY!"

"Why? So you can annoy everyone even more with your complants?"

"Grrrr...." Kyo stood up from the table and left.

"K-kyo!" Tohru studderd. Shigure sighed.

"Yuki why must you and Kyo patronize eachother all of the time?" Shigure asked.

"All I did was state the truth. It's not my fault he's too arrongant to relize it." Yuki took a bit of some of his food. "So Li, how long have you been studying the martial arts?"

"Sense I was like, four or five." Li replied.

"How old are you now?" Tohru asked.

"The same age as Momiji and Haru."

"R-REALLY?! So that means your only like, 15!"

"Your only a year or two younger than Honda-san and I." Yuki said with a smile. "So that means you'll be going to school at our school right?"

"Yup. We have to wear uniforms don't we...."

"Yeah. But I like them!" Momiji said. "I bet you will too once you get use to it!"

"Oh, I forgot, Yuki do you think you could go up to the school sometime and get Li's schedual?" Shigure asked.

"Sure. I can go tomorrow." Yuki replied.

"But we don't have school tomorrow. How can you get into the school?" Tohru asked.

"They gave me a spare key to the school for some reason. Probably because i'm "responsible"." Everyone finished eating their food. Tohru was in the kitchen cleaning the dishes and Yuki was helping. Shigure was in his den working on his latest book. "Honda-san."

"Yes?"

"Will you go with me to the school tomorrow to get Li's schedual?"

"Sure!" Thoru got done washing the last plate and handed it to Yuki. "Li is so sweet." Yuki looked at Tohru.

"What did you two talk about?"

"I just asked her some questions. She's a nice girl. And she's pretty too. Hve you seen how long her hair is? Its so pretty! I'm kinda jealous." Yuki was drying the dish.

"Don't be. If anything, I would think people would be jealous of you."

"Eh?!" Yuki smiled some.

"Your a great person. I just don't think you relize it. But you are great." Tohru smiled.

"Thank you Yuki! Your great too!" Tohru and Yuki went into the living room and saw Momiji and Li asleep on the couch. Tohru smiled and got a blanket. She put it over them both. She saw the t.v was on so she turned it off. Yuki was standing in the dorr way. "Guess we can't watch t.v! Oh well!"

"I'm gonna go to bed. Good night Honda-san."

"Good night Yuki." Yuki left to go up to his room. Thoru wasn't far behind. She went into her room and then got dressed for bed. She brushed her hair out and then got into bed.
