~Hidden~

 

As deeply as that damn rat thought his scars were secreted, cloaked and invisible to the naked eye, Kyo knew better, understanding perfectly how to see them.

 

Always able to know when fresh cuts were added.

 

Bold, jagged, deep, he knew just where to look.

 

There, underneath the hurt, the shame, the anger they were buried. They lay swaddled in the humiliation, the hopelessness, the despair that was permanently etched into Yuki's soul.

 

Yes, Kyo understood how heavy they weighted a heart, a spirit, choking every crumb of happiness, every speck of joy out of existence, leaving room for nothing else.

 

He understood.

 

And he would always know exactly where to look because his were hidden in the same place.
