Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ Porcelain ❯ Drifting, Floating, Nodding, Fading ( Chapter 1 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
This is just some weird thing inspired by 'Porcelain' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their lyrics belong to them, and these characters belong to Takaya.
Also this is one of those stories where Akito is a woman. Look. I don't care if He/She/It is. This is fanfiction. The truth doesn't matter. Akito could be a duck for all I care. That's the beauty of fanfiction. So I want not a word on whether he/she/it is or is not a woman. I write stories both ways.

"What?" Akito whispered fearfully. She wasn't scared often, but she was right now.
"I'm sorry, Akito-san." her doctor answered tiredly. "But that's how it is."
"No, I can't. That's not right." The girl stared up at him. "It can't be right."
"There's nothing I can do right now." Hatori finally told her.
"Then-then-then!" Her eyes widened. "Get out!"
The dragon didn't want anything thrown at him so he quickly ducked out, and Kureno entered.
"Akito?" He wondered coming closer. She surprised him by pouncing on him, pinning him to the floor with her small weight. Then she was kissing him forcefully. She wasn't sure what she was trying to prove, or who she was defying. But she was sure it was an important thing to do. The diminutive head could feel her faithful rooster hardening against her thigh already. Good. That was what she wanted! She was quickly stripping off their clothes hurriedly. Kureno was going to take her. Right now, and everything would be better. He made things better... Yes...
But her theory was proven very wrong. Things didn't get better. She still sat in her room, lonely and unhappy. No matter how many times Kureno took her, her lonliness didn't stop. Which in turn increased her unhappiness. It was affecting the girl physically. So after three months of nothing, they decided there was only one option left. They called Shigure.
"Please, come see him?" The dragon asked carefully, he didn't know who might be listening, so he didn't call Akito her.
"Akito-san?" The dog blinked at his end of the phone. "Why?" He knew for a fact that Yuki and Kyo were listening.
"Please?" Hatori requested. "He's very unhappy. I know you'd cheer him up."
"Oh, all right, Haa-san." Shigure whined. "I'll come this Sunday."
"Akito-san?" The dog wondered knocking on the door. There was a rustling of robes and then the girl called in her deeper voice for him to enter. "It's me." He smiled gently and went right over to her. He knew he didn't have to bow like the rest. But when he got over to her he wasn't too happy. "You look horrible."
"Your tact impresses me as always." Akii replied scathingly, huddling up under her huge robes as she spoke. She swam in them as is, but when she did that, they were practically eating her.
"Isn't Haa-san pulling his hair out over you?" The older man wondered, sitting down next to her, leaning in to brush a strand of her hair out of her sallowy face. He came nose to nose with an odd smell. It was overpowering the simple perfume she wore and he had no idea what the scent was.
"Yes. But Hatori can rot in hell for I care." She grinned.
"Now, now." The brunet chuckled. "That's not very nice at all."
Akito frowned at him. "I don't care." She stated simply. "Why are you here?"
"To see you, of course?" he offered with a small sweatdrop.
"Then let's talk about something else."
She changed the subject fluidly, and it was well into the night before her malaise appearance was mentioned again. They'd moved out onto her porch, and they were both just basking in the moon light. It appeared Hatori had been right, and Shigure was cheering her up.
"You look even worse in that pale lighting." The man commented.
"So? I'm glad."
"What do you mean, Akito?" Shigure wondered. She was acting odd. Odder than usual.
"I don't want to die." Akii stated softly. "But I need to now."
"Why are you doing this to yourself?" The dog wondered. "You've wanted to die before. But it's never been like this."
"I don't want to share this life." She mumbled
"With whom?"
Akito looked over at him painedly.
"Akito." Shigure insisted carefully. "What's going on with you?" He put a hand on her arm worriedly. She pulled away from him and he was about to protest when she began to undo her robe. "Akito??" He wondered as each layer fell off. And when she was bare before him, he gasped.
She was most definintely pregnant. There wasn't much light coming from the moon, but there was enough that he could see the bulge of her stomach, and it was far too low for her to just have gotten fat. Her small breasts were also swelling a bit with the surge of hormones. It had all been artfully hidden under her huge robes. She couldn't have been more than four months anyway.
"I won't." She stated desperately.
"Akito." The dog stopped her "How long and who."
She was angry at the interuption, but she simply dropped back down to the floor, her robes pooling around her.
"Hatori said I'm at four and a half months yesterday." Akito told him quietly. "And I know it's yours."
"How can you be sure about that?" Shigure wanted a baby about as much as he wanted to be shot.
"Because I hadn't had sex with Kureno!" She stated defensively. "Or anyone else for that matter you fool! It was just you!"
"Are you going to--"
Akii cut him off, "No. I'm going to die. It's never going to know about this world! Never."
She never wanted another person to know her cruelness. She didn't want it to know about the curse, and she didn't want the chance of it being involved. She didn't want it to feel the harsh world.
"Akito--"
"I'll die first." She told him stiffly. "I'm well on the way." She glared at him, even though she was on the verge of hysterical tears. "I-i can't do it with a gun, or-or a knife. I'm too scared. This is the only other way for me." Her teal eyes widened and she latched onto the dog. "Unless you'll kill me? I've asked Hatori and Kureno. They told me no. But you, you will won't you?!"
"I can't hurt you, Akito." Physically could not.
In her fit she shoved him away.
"I'll rot then."
She made good on that promise too. The only one she allowed in her room was Shigure. But every time he opened the door to go in, they could see Akito. Her skin was a sickly yellow color, and her eyes were sunken in and gaunt.
They all knew she was fading. Shigure and Kureno thought it was too soon though. That child might have a chance if she slowed down just a little bit... The dog watched it grow in her every time he went in there. He would bend down and kiss her stomach like any other father would. That smell he'd been unable to place before would fill his nostrils. He knew what it was now it was the scent of a pregnant woman. He'd never make that mistake again...
Whenever Shigure would act like an expectant father, Akii would smile gently like the mother she was. The dog would see it, and return the affection before kissing her. He hoped to talk her out of this. Just because he didn't want a child didn't mean he wanted it dead, and he most definately didn't want Akito dead.
Ten months in. Akito finally got her wish. Her weakened bodies system just collapsed in on itself. There was no way to save her. To save her child. Shigure's child. At least when she was buried, they made her out to be human on her tombstone. Calling her a mother, and love. Shigure made sure of it. Because she wasn't a monster. She wasn't a porcelin doll, that was just waiting to be smashed. She was just a lonely, unhappy, confused young woman. She was human, and she'd just wasted away her in skin. Drifted, and floated away. Nodding as the gods called her up.
