~Chapter 5~

MUAHAHAHHAHAHHA k… I want reviews sorry I'm not updating a lot but I'm trying to prolong it until the next volume comes out here in America. I made it longer!!! But that took a while to type…

 

They stared at her in shock but Sanyu continued to stare at Rin.

 

Sanyu: Is she cursed with the zodiac?

 

Shigure: Sanyu-chan… How do you know about the curse?

 

Sanyu: Hm? Oh, mommy used to tell me about it all the time. Thirteen people were cursed with each animal of the zodiac and another with the role of God.

 

Yuki: Your mother?

 

Sanyu: Hai. But she died some time ago.

 

Shigure: Hm… Who…?

 

As if on cue there was another puff of smoke and a naked form of Rin lay on the floor. Quickly Tohru ushered them out and was handed a kimono to put on her, Then together Yuki and Shigure gently took Rin up to Tohru's bed while Tohru cleaned up the bile on the floor. Sanyu was instructed to call Hatori to come over once again. Then once the boys had come back down Tohru went up to check on Rin.

 

About ten minutes later Hatori arrived at the door. Tohru came down after a couple of minutes and told them that Rin was up. Shigure and Hatori went up and Sanyu followed Tohru as she went to go get a pot of soup she had set up before going up to see Rin. Sanyu followed Tohru up and upon entering heard protests, Tohru gasped and took a step forward and ended up dropping the bowl of hot soup.

 

Tohru: Isuzu-san! You…! You mustn't Isuzu-san! It's dangerous…

 

Shigure: Rin. Why don't you let the hospital at least let them get you to the point where you can take care of your own body? That's the only way you can get people to once and for all leave you alone. And that way, we wouldn't have to be so bothered by you.

 

Sanyu stared at Isuzu before bending down to pick up the fallen bowl. Tohru quickly helped and Rin had settled back down and hid herself under the covers. Sanyu quietly followed Tohru, Shigure, and Hatori out.

 

Hatori: I'll come again tomorrow. If we make a bog deal out of it she might actually jump.

 

Shigure: You're right for right now it might be worse to force her to the hospital but as long as she has that much spunk left she'll be fine.

 

Tohru gazed at the ground sadly/

 

Tohru: Isuzu-san… I wonder what she came here to do? She seemed to be in so much pain.

 

Shigure: Hm… The truth is… Rin and I are going out.

 

Shaking her head Sanyu began walking down the stairs to wait for Kyo to return from the dojo and carry her up the stairs. It was somewhat like a routine now. Sanyu would walk down the steps and waited until he came home and gave her a ride on his shoulders back up. She sat at the bottom waiting in the far corner of the stairs when she heard Hatori and Shigure coming down talking.

 

Shigure: For some reason, that girl is desperately looking for a way to undo our curse by herself.

 

Hatori: She's serious?

 

Shigure: Most likely. And she suspects that I know something so she comes over from time to time.

 

Hatori: That's absurd.

 

Shigure: yes, well you say its absurd but… is it really? Hatori can't you hear it?

 

Kyo was coming up the sidewalk and Sanyu quickly dashed to him and jumped up into his arms but not before catching the last of Shigure's words. Kyo curious as ever asked why Hatori was here and they headed up the stairs with a complaining Shigure al the way back up. Kyo put me down upon reaching the house and went in. Sanyu stood outside with Shigure.

 

Sanyu: Gure-nii… Is Isuzu-san scared of hospitals?

 

Shigure: Not really. Just something painful happened there.

 

Sanyu silently nodded and they both stared at Tohru's bedroom window. Shouts easily distinguished as Tohru and Rin drifted down to them.

 

Tohru: I'm sorry but no! I won't stay out of it. Just as you have things you can't give up, Isuzu-san, so do I. There are things I can't give up either!

 

Rin: Shut up! Shut Up! SHUT UP! There isn't one! There isn't one anywhere! There isn't a way!

 

They heard the slam of a door and soon Rin came outside in tears and just collapsed on the top of the stairs. Slowly soon afterwards Tohru emerged and sat beside her. Hesitantly she reached for her but Rin suddenly grabbed her.

 

Rin: I don't know what to do anymore! I just don't know, I can't do anything on my own.

 

Tohru: Being by yourself is scary. Being alone is a frightening way to live.

 

Tohru had also begun to cry and a faded and glazed look appeared in her eyes. Sanyu stared at them with a slight smile.

 

Sanyu: Alone… ne?

 

Deciding to distract herself she looked at the sky. Feeling sleepy she leaned on Yuki who stood beside her. He placed his hand on her head and chuckling ruffled her hair. He gently lifted her up and Shigure brought the now quiet Rin back to bed. Everyone else also went in. Sanyu poked Yuki to let her down and she went to Tohru and hugged her tightly.

 

Sanyu: Onee-chan, are you ok?

 

Tohru: Hai. Sanyu-chan I'm fine.

 

Sanyu stared at Tohru disbelievingly but slowly nodded and quickly dragged her back inside by the hand.

 

Sanyu awoke the next day to find out that Tohru and the boys had already left for school. Sanyu wandered to the kitchen and found a plate of food left by Tohru. She quietly ate before she went to Shigure's office to relieve of the quickly rising boredom.

 

Shigure: …Haru-kun, she's at the hospital.

 

Sanyu: Ano… Gure-nii, could I go with Haru-san to the hospital? I wanna see Rin-san too.

 

She shuffled about nervously. Shigure just smiled and told Haru to come pick her up. Then got off the phone and ushered Sanyu up the stairs to change and saying that he would escort her to the hospital to meet up with Haru. After Sanyu was done changing they headed to the hospital.

 

~At the Hospital~

 

They soon enough arrived at the hospital and had found Rin's room to see an interesting site. Haru stood there impassively while Rin was brandishing her I.V. and several nurses were holding her back. In the end they were kicked out of Rin's room and couldn't come back in. Sanyu gave the nurse puppy dog eyes and only she was allowed in but with the condition that she didn't aggravate Rin. She quietly stepped into the room with a now calm Rin. She climbed into the chair at Rin's bedside. Rin looked at her questionably.

 

Sanyu: Are you scared of hospitals Rin-san?

 

Rin: Hmph. I'm not scared of them. I just hate them.

 

Sanyu: I don't like them either. They hold bad memories for me.

 

Rin: Aa. Me too.

 

They sat in a comfortable silence for a bit before Rin spoke.

 

Rin: So? What did you come here for? Surely not to just check up on me.

 

Sanyu: Rin-san I came to ask for a favor. I… I wanted to ask you to continue searching and not loose hope and to help Onee-chan with finding a way to break the curse.

 

Rin looked at the small child standing before her.

 

Rin: I will not give you my word but maybe I'll consider it.

 

Sanyu: Isuzu-san, you are nice. ^ . ^ JaNe! I'll see you later Isuzu-san!

 

She quickly left the room waving as she left.

 

~Later at Dinner~

 

Tohru: Oh yeah, Yuki-kun! The culture festival this year… I've heard rumors that there's going to be a campfire, and we're even going shoot off fireworks! Is it true?

 

Yuki: It's not true. Both are lies. I seem to remember someone suggesting those things but it's kind of impossible. I'm sorry.

 

Tohru: N-no! Please don't apologize.

 

Shigure: Impossible you say? Aaya lit up the entire campus with spotlights.

 

Yuki: Could you not use nii-san as an example?

 

Tohru: Oh, that sounds so romantic!

 

Kyo: The electric bill…

 

Shigure: Is it time for the culture festival already?

 

Yuki: No, it's still a ways off. We have tests first. It's just that the student body needs to make the advance preparations.

 

Sanyu: Yuu-nii has an aniki? What are fireworks? Could I come to the festival? I've never been to one before.

 

Sanyu who had been sitting quietly asked her unanswered questions in one breath. Shigure decided to answer first.

 

Shigure: Yuki-kun has an older brother, Ayame. He's the about the same age as me and he owns a little store that sells clothes.

 

Sanyu: Aa… then, fireworks? What are they?

 

Yuki: They are like sparkling colored light that goes off in the sky or you have small ones too. They're a lot of fun. You never heard of fireworks before?

 

Sanyu confusingly looked at Yuki and then her eyes traveled to the ground.

 

Sanyu: I heard about them in school but I never knew what fireworks look like. He wouldn't let me leave… After school he would be there waiting for me to lock me back up at the house. But I want to see what the festival looks like, please?

 

Tohru: Of course Sanyu-chan! I'm…. sure you'll love it.

 

Shigure: Do your best president-san to make it marvelous for our little cub's first festival!

 

Tohru: Um… By the way everyone, would you like some gelatin for dessert.

 

Shigure: Would I ever!

 

Sanyu: Me too! Me too!

 

Yuki: You made some?

 

Tohru: I ended up making a lot… there's orange, and apple, and grapefruit. I'll bring it out for you.

 

Tohru quickly went back into the kitchen and brought out a dish of gelatin and spoons. Once she had set the things on the table Sanyu instantly dove for an orange gelatin. She ignored the conversation behind her. Shigure poked her and held out his apple gelatin. Curiously she stared at it before she ate from the spoon. Releasing the spoon she turned to see a brooding Yuki. She scooped the gelatin and held it out for him to eat. He looked at her and smiled and ate it. Shigure spoke from behind her.

 

Shigure: I'm terribly sorry about this. That you had to get mixed up with Rin. Dragging you into family problems… we've caused you trouble.

 

Tohru: N-no… I'm not troubled at all… absolutely not! Never…!

 

AN: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I know that the chapters are short but I'm trying to draw it out until I get the next book… I want it!!! > . < haha I might get it soon so I'll make the chapters longer soon
