Save Me

Kyo whimpered softly and continued to run. It was raining. He was cold and miserable, but he kept on running. When he got where he needed to be, he cried out in a cracked tone. A head turned toward him slowly. The expression was shocked, but not in an unpleasant way. Kyo dropped down onto his knees, in the mud, where he stood, as the other person approached. Kyo tilted his head back as the taller approached. He was saying something... But the red head had no idea what it was. The sky was falling down around him, crashing down into the sea with a huge spray of water, and he couldn't hear what the other was saying. Kyo was flat out crying now, the other could tell too. Despite the mixture of rainwater, he knew Kyo was crying. He tried to ask him what was wrong, but Kyo wasn't listening to him. Kyo was saying something else, going on, and on, about something else.

He was leaving. Kyo had heard it secondhand from Shigure and had tossed it aside, but then he'd had in confirmed by Momiji. Kyo had run here as soon as he heard the news, leaving the rest of them, except Shigure, surprised and wondering where he was going and what he was going to do out in the rain like that.

Now Kyo was on his knees in the mud and rain, whimpering out broken sentences. 'Please listen...' he groaned as he watched the other's lips work, but he didn't hear any of the words, either Kyo was deaf, or he was mute. Kyo never thought he'd say the words coming out of his own mouth now, but another day alone was more than he could take. He just wanted to stay by the other's side... And he knew he could never say it enough, but he was sorry, and he'd been wrong. So very, very wrong about EVERYTHING. Kyo stared up tearily at him asking things like 'do you think about me' and then saying that he couldn't live without him. Kyo was becoming incoherent, babbling frantically, so the other just wrapped his arms around Kyo's shoulders. Kyo let out a ripped sob and clung to his legs tightly. The air was tight as the rain suddenly increased, Kyo's shoulders shook for a long while and they both just stood there until finally Kyo lifted his head again. Everything was gone. There was no sky, there was no land. There was just water, endless miles of water, and he was trying to climb into the lifeboat. The only way he would be able to though, would be if he was forgiven and if this person saved him by pulling him up. He was going to drown otherwise. As Kyo stared up into the other's eyes, blinking past the heavy raindrops falling into them, he knew more than saw, the help the other was offering him. Kyo knew that he was forgiven for all the things he'd said and if he chose, he could be by his side forever. Another sob tore from him, and he stood up to hug the other tightly. They clung to each other out in the rain, with Kyo still sobbing helplessly on his shoulder.
