Fruits Basket Fan Fiction ❯ Training? ❯ Chapter 4
After about an hour of talking alone on the porch about what they did in the mountains and how much they missed each other it was lunchtime. Amazingly no one bothered them, not even Shigure. The rain stopped and little rays of sun shined through. "Lunch time guys come in and eat!" Thoru called. Kyo got up and held Savanna's hand as he helped her up. As Kyo walked into the door Savanna pulled her hand away as if something had burned her. Kyo looked confused, "What's wrong?" Savanna dropped her head with a sigh. "Haven't you heard you have to invite a vampire into your house before I can go in, but if you do that I can come in when ever I want." Kyo smiled, "Well I don't see anything wrong with that!" Kyo smiled. "I do! Kyo don't you get it! I'm a vampire! If I get a need for blood or something I don't want to harm your family!" tears flooded her eyes as she spoke. "I don't mind staying out side in fact I think I like it better out here so go eat and I'll wait till your done ok!" Kyo made a motion toward her as if he were going to speak. "GO EAT KYO!" relentlessly Kyo listened and stormed away. Savanna smiled, "Yep, I can still tell him what to do… my Kyo your such a dork." With that she laid down on the porch to watch the storm clouds pass by.
"Kyo where's your girlfriend?" Shigure asked. "She's outside." "Out side! You mean you didn't invite her in man what kind of a boyfriend are you!?" Yuki said bluntly. Kyo sighed as if Yuki's words didn't even faze him. "She's protecting you guys from herself, if you guys don't remember she's a vampire and to give her access to enter the house is a temptation." Thoru looked a little confused, "If she's a vampire how come she can be out in the day like this don't they need darkness to survive?" Kyo looked shocked. "You mean you never thought of asking her that? Man you are stupid!" Yuki yelled. "Shut up you! You! Damn! Never mind!" Kyo took his food and went out side saying unheard curses under his breath. As Kyo opened the door Savanna didn't even acknowledge that he even came out or even existed. Huh? That's weird she usually can since me a mile away… I wonder what she's thinking about? Her eyes seem like there empty. "Savanna? Are you ok?" Savanna jumped and turned around with a big smile, "Kyo!" She got up and gave Kyo a big hug. Kyo was able to balance his food as he hugged her back and sat down at the edge of the porch. "Hey Savanna I got something to ask you." Savanna looked at him questioningly, "Ok Kyo shoot" she said happily. "Well, why is it you can stay out in the daylight don't vampires sleep during the day?" Savanna gave a weird look, "Well most do but I guess I'm different! Cool huh?" she said with an innocent smile. "Yah cool" Kyo said. But that still doesn't answer the question… What are you hiding from me Savanna? Kyo thought to himself, …I'll find out…
The day ended as fast as it came, Kyo and Savanna talked all day and most the night. Kyo sleepy eyed smiled, kissed Savanna and wished her sweet dreams… Even if she didn't sleep much these days, he did it anyway. As Kyo walked away and shut the door Savanna smiled wickedly, "Sleep well Kyo my love… Sleep well."
Kyo don't trust her… Kyo was walking in darkness trying to follow the voice that called to him. Kyo listen to me you and your family is in grave danger… Kyo spun a full circle around himself looking for the holder of the voice. "Where are you! Come out and face me!" his voice echoed through the darkness. Kyo don't you recognize my voice? It's me Savanna! Listen to me Kyo your in danger! "Savanna? Where are you?" Suddenly a little girl appeared in front of him. Big eyes full of different colors that can make anyone smile and yet seemed sad. Long silver hair draped down to her ankles and a strange voice… Older than her age… "Savanna is this you?" The little girl looked at him with tears flooding her eyes, "Y-yes it's me Kyo… Part of me…" The little girl sounded exactly how Savanna spoke, with a soft tone sounding like a whisper. "Kyo I need you to listen to my words… You are in grave danger. The person you have seen is not myself." Kyo bent down on his knees to the girls' height, "I don't understand what you're trying to say Savanna." The little girl slapped Kyo, "Damn Kyo! The Savanna that's with you now is not me! She'll kill you and your family once Friday comes around there will be no stopping the demon! Why do you think the daylight doesn't faze her! Kyo don't you understand what I'm saying?" Kyo rubbed his head, "How do I know this isn't a dream? Friday's tomorrow… Wait a minute Friday thirteenth no way this must be a joke." Kyo laughed. *Smack! * The little girl slapped him again, harder this time with eyes the color of flames and tears running down her face. "If you don't believe me then ask her where we met Kyo! She won't know! She won't! Remember we met in the mountains by a lake and a huge rock shaped like a hawk, remember! She won't know… She won't" Kyo with out thinking hugged the girl who transformed into the older Savanna. "Kyo, I'll see you tomorrow night if you don't believe me by then… Rest in peace for you and your family." Kyo backed away, "Like hell, you're just a dream! I'll ask the question but if I'm right and she really is Savanna I don't want you to ever come back into my dreams do you understand! Never!" The dream Savanna nodded and looked to the sky. "Kyo… It's time to wake up." Kyo looked at her confused, "Wha?" Kyo opened his eyes to see Shigure over him. "Still having those dreams even though she's here? Something must be wrong with this… You shouldn't be having those night mares anymore." Kyo looked at Shigure awkwardly, "Shigure, Tomorrow's Friday thirteenth right?" Shigure looked at Kyo and nodded his head. Kyo looked at his hands as Shigure left the room, "Savanna don't make me wrong. Not this time… Not with this."
