Chapter 4 - Blue Skies

"Shhhh...."

"I don't know if I can, Yuki."

Once we returned to the house, the atmosphere was cordial, if not a bit hazy. Ayame and Shigure were sitting in the living area, sipping tea and reading. Well, Aya was reading. Shigure was busy writing. All I could think then was 'great, we're going to be on public display in a novel.'

When Shigure looked up at us, he smiled his usual smile. "Welcome back."

"We left dessert for you in the fridge," Ayame added without looking up from his magazine.

I immediately blushed. I suppose we'd already had dessert. Or would that be an appetizer? I felt my body shudder, but it wasn't from the cold water still clinging to pieces of me.

Yuki answered with a smile. "Thanks. We'll eat it later."

With a tug of my arm, I followed him upstairs. Ayame looked up then, smiling. Shigure did the same. I’m sure our somewhat disheveled appearance gave us away. However, neither said another word.

And we made a whole lot of noise!

"Lift your knee a little more."

"Like...OH!"

"Yeah, like that."

We were so getting picked on in the morning. But in the moment, I hardly cared. I just needed to remember to get a copy of the novel once Shigure published it.

"Gods, Yuki...."

My body was worn out but my ego was eager. I don't remember how many times we came together or how many orgasms I had. What I do know is that I enjoyed every minute of it. Falling asleep next to him, still feeling him warm inside of me, was the best thing ever.

Or course, waking up had its advantages too.

"Mmmm...Machi that feels...."

He was still half asleep as I took his engorged manhood into my mouth. It was something I had never attempted during sex before. I was still leery, and probably did a half-assed job in all my fumbling. But Yuki didn't seem to mind.

"Yuki...s-st-top.... Ah!"

Until he woke up.

It was calmer in the shower as we carefully and slowly bathed each other. It was enticing and intimate touching him so casually. No pressure. No profound need or lust. Just us together.

Then we moved to the tub. The warm water was very relaxing against my aching muscles. I even had sore spots that I didn't know could be sore! We sat close together, arms around each other. Each kiss was unique and conveyed some kind of emotion. It wasn't until our tongues became involved and our hands started roaming that the water was no longer the warmest thing in the tub.

"No, not there. A little higher. Now...move forward just a bit."

"Like this? Ohhhhh...."

Funny how quickly things can change.

One thrust and he was riding me like a prize bull. Half hanging from the side of the tub wasn't exactly comfortable, but after a few thrusts, it mattered not.

And neither did the knock on the door.

"Yuki, will you be done soon?"

Yuki lifted me, so that my back rested against his front. The change in position sent shockwaves through my system. I would have cried out had he not placed a hand over my mouth. He began thrusting again, the furious pace continuing even as he answered, "I'll be done in a minute."

That...wasn't too far from the mark. For both of us.

Draining the tub, we rinsed off in the shower before toweling dry and getting dressed. Nothing was said as we walked downstairs together. Shigure merely waved to us when he caught sight of us. Even Ayame was quiet as he passed us on his way to the bathroom.

Breakfast was a bit more talkative. At least on Ayame's part. He talked about his newest collection and how the new materials would come into play. I know little about fashion, but Ayame is as passionate about his work as he is about getting closer to his little brother.

Shigure mentioned some new ideas for his book. "I think Mii-chan will be pleased with the new material." He winked at me, causing me to blush. However, it was Yuki that nearly choked on his pancakes. I think he just realized the impact our evening had had.

There was little talking as we began to prepare the lake house for lock up. Yuki had packed his travel bag and kissed me on the cheek before joining his brother and cousin downstairs.

I was sad that the weekend was already over. I did not want to go back to life as I knew it. Not that it's bad, mind you. But knowing that my final year at the university was going to be laden with work, coupled with the realization that my time with Yuki would be limited just left me drained and depressed.

However, I would have these memories to carry me through. It would have to be enough.

"Machi, we're almost ready."

"I'll be right down."

Spending time with his family had also been a good thing. I'm not thrilled that they just happened to show up, but I now have a better understanding of their dynamic. Sort of. Anyway, it reinforced what I knew from the beginning. They care about Yuki and would do anything for him (or to him).

Honestly, I have a newfound respect for them both.

"Oooo, she's going down, Gure."

"It's just indecent, Aya!"

"Will you two just stop," Yuki asked.

"Stop what?"

But they're still immature children some times.

With my bag packed, I joined the guys downstairs and finished washing the dishes as Ayame dried them. Yuki and Shigure went around checking every last inch of the place for garbage. Then there was the matter of the breakers and water.

"Everything's off," Yuki said as he closed the breaker box.

"Guess it's time to go," Shigure replied.

We loaded the cars with our luggage and any leftovers from the fridge. I was happy to see some left over pasta in Yuki's bag. No doubt he'd be making one of those pasta dishes I love so much. Maybe I could get a new recipe from Tohru.

As I closed the trunk, Yuki grabbed my arm. I smiled at him, unaware of what he was going to say next.

"Machi?"

"Yes?"

"I have something I'd like to ask you."

I blinked. "O...okay."

"So exciting," Ayame exclaimed.

Yuki rolled his eyes at his brother. "I just wanted to invite you to move in with me," he told me.

"That's not very romantic," Shigure commented.

"You should get down on one knee," Ayame said.

"It's not a proposal, Ayame-san." I sighed. "Besides, I already have a key."

"It might as well be a proposal," Ayame replied.

Shigure nodded. "All that's missing is a ring."

Like magic, Yuki produced a small box. Black velvet too. I froze. Was he going to? My heart leapt into my throat. If Ayame was right, I was going to pass out.

He smiled at me. "Like this one?"

When he opened the box, I saw a tiny opal situated on a thin silver band. There were two tiny stones on either side of the opal. Quartz? Diamonds? Did it matter?

"Yuki?" I didn't know what else to say.

"It's only a promise ring," he replied, blushing in embarrassment. "A western tradition, really, but appropriate for us. I think." He took the ring from the box. "We have a big future ahead of us, but I'd like nothing more than to spend it with you."

My hand shook as he placed the ring on my finger. "Thank you."

"I should buy one for Mine," Ayame mused as he walked away.

"Looks like we're ready to go then," Shigure said.

He and Ayame walked to their vehicle. I was surprised to see Shigure getting into the driver's side. Did he have his license now? They both waved before pulling away.

"Be good, kids," Ayame shouted as they drove away.

What's the fun in that?

"Are you ready to go?"

I put my arm around Yuki. "I don't know. I like it up here."

"The setting is nice."

I glanced at him sideways. I knew from his background that there were many bad memories, and this house was attached to some of them. He still hasn't told me many of them, but that didn't matter to me.

"Do you still have bad memories here?"

"There are a few," he replied honestly, squeezing my shoulder. "But I have many good memories now, thanks to you."

I couldn't help but smile mischievously. "How about one more of those good memories, Mr. Sohma?"

"What did you have in mind, Miss Kuragi?"

Untangling myself from his grasp, I started for the trail, pulling him with me.

We would so need a lake-side house one day. Or a pool.

"Gods, Machi...."

Maybe both.
