Chapter 9

 

Disclaimer I do not own fruits basket If I did own I would still be writing this but kyia would be a real character in Fruits Basket instead of one I made up when I first read the book several months ago.

 

School was going by so slowly Kyia could've sworn that she looked at the clock 20 times in the same second. Kyo was asleep on his desk with his eyes opened so sensei wouldn't kill him. Yuki and Tohru were taking notes on Physics. Yuki kept glaring at her and finally he just sighed and gave thinking that he would never get her to take notes. “Kyia what do you think you are NOT doing?”

“Uhh falling asleep?? I mean I already know this because grandma took perfect care me when we were studying Japanese history.” Sensei kept talking oblivious of their little whispered conversation until a huge snore was heard in the classroom coming from Kyo. “Kyo-kun, wake up!!!” came sensei's sharp reply to the very loud snore. “Huh?? I'm awake!” “Obviously you weren't if you're snoring like that!”

Finally school ended, “Thank god!! I was starting to get really annoyed!” kyia stated. “Yes, well you could have been occupied by writing notes.” “I gotta go to the dojo today…. I'll see ya later.” Tohru was finishing up talking with uo-chan and hana-chan. “I have student counsel meetings today and Tohru has to go to work today. Are you sure you'll be fine walking home?” “Yeah.” “Bye.”

Man this is really lonely… But he's probably busy studying at the university… oh yeah he graduates this year. Doesn't he?? I'll have to e-mail him and ask. She was thinking real hard that she didn't notice that when she had turned onto the path to Shigure's house that Anthony and Kapu had slipped up to walk with her until she heard one of the barks at her. “HUH?!? Oh hey Anthony, kapu. What's up?” Nothing much we were just hunting when we saw you walk by.” “Oh….” Suddenly there was a huge crash into her as Momiji crashed into her. “Gutentag Kyia!!” he cried and then she turned around and saw Haru “hey.” “Hi you guys, Momiji get offa me!!!!” she hit him backwards to get him off of her although not very hard since she didn't like to hurt his feelings since he was always so funny to watch. That and he was always so happy.

“We told Honda-san that we would be over to celebrate Shigure's new book.” Haru explained. “Ohh… ummm ok.” As they walked down the path that led to Shigure's house kyia was silent while Momiji and haru talked about what had happened during school how their classes were going until Momiji asked “Hay Kyia?? Do you miss your grandparents? Hari said that you might.” “Momiji don't ask her that!” haru said quietly. It's okay haru, yeah I do miss them not only that I miss my friends up there.” She replied quietly. “It feels like I don't know anyone down here even you guys, I mean so much has changed since I was last down….” “ Yeah but you were what? 6?” `Yeah.” When they got to the house they found that they were not the only ones their Ayame had come to visit too. “Ohh (he squealed) Kyia my how you've changed and for the better!” he cried when he saw her. “Shigure I'm going to my room. Congratulations on the new book.” She said very quietly.

“I wish that he would shut up sometimes, maybe yuki is right that no one can see eye to eye with aaya, although Shigure and Hatori may be the only ones. I wish I wasn't the only one here who isn't celebrating a new book………. Just then a knock on her door brought her back from her thoughts. “Hmm.. Come in.,” she said in a bored voice as she found the book she had been looking for on her bed. It was Haru. “Hey you okay? Because you went away kind of like a dog that had been scolded.” `Yeah I'm fine I just didn't expect for aaya to be here. Now I'll never get any rest. You know think I'll actually go and take a hike.” “It looks like it's going to rain you might want to stay here.” Nah I'll be fine. Now get out so I can change.” She locked the door behind haru and changed into a greenday shirt and jeans and then she grabbed a sweatshirt. “Hey Shigure? I'm going on a hike, yeah I know it looks like rain.” She yelled.

She ran up the trail to her hidey-hole. It was now finished so she took her shoes off and put them in the shed. Then she went to the ring and jumped up onto it and just laid down as it started to rain.

 

A/n I dunno why it's just that when I wrote about Ayame I just felt very sad for kyia.
