Fullmetal Alchemist Fan Fiction / Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Fobidden Brothers ❯ Never Ending Lies ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Disclaimer: Would I ever right fanfiction if I owned any of the characters, except the ones I made,
like Duo's mom, dad n stuff.
A rainy day. It started on a rainy day....
Lightning crackled across the sky, the streets, flooded. Everyone in the village hated the rain,
especially like this. No one could hear anything but the rain and the thunder. But a unsuspecting
sound shot throughout the whole village. A baby's cry. No, there were two. The black-haired woman
held both of her sons, as she softly sang to them. Calming down, the sons started to drift to sleep.
"Twins.." the mother repeated with joy. "Atleast they have eachother....." The man next to her started to panic.
"Theres no pulse! Someone help me in here!"
That night, two very differant boys were born, forbidden, they called it. The oldest had bright blonde
hair, with golden eyes. But his younger brother had brown hair and blue eyes. The whole village
couldn't understand why, even alchemy sounds strange. So, they split them up, both differant
villages. Never to know of the other. The oldest was given to a woman named Trisha Elric, who
lived in a village far north of his birth place, and his brother was given to a woman named Kathryn
Maxwell, in a town far south. The ones who knew of them and cared parayed that they would never
meet, for if it came out, they would both be hated and feared fir being the 'forbidden children'.

Chapter 1 [ Never Ending Lies ]

"YOU WILL PAY FOR CALLING ME SO SHORT I WON'T EVEN SIZE UP TO A FLEA-!!!"
*BAM* *CRASH* *THUD*
Laying there, a blonde haired boy was dazed, showing a large dent on his head. "EDWARD!!"
A woman with a broom screamed. The blonde slowly got up. He looked at his mother and said,
"What was THAT for!?"
"FOR ATTACKING THAT GUY!"
"BUT HE CALLED ME SHORT!"
"SO?!"
"But I'm not short..." The 10 yearold said, but for his age, he IS pretty short.... hehe.
"You are a little short," the woman said.
"Just don't let people bother you, ignore them," she spoke again, rubbing her son's head.
"Lets go home, Ed."
After lunch, Ed felt the feeling again. It hurt him alot. He knew he wasn't sick, but something was wrong
He needed answers. Many times he thought it was because he studied alchemy behind his mother's
back, sometimes he thinks it is just an ache, worn into him after working hard at nights.
But no matter what he comes up with, the feeling that, someone needs him, knows him,
loves him, will never go away.
Ed sat on his bed, figgiting with a peice of papper. "Mom...?" he asked, afraid of what he was
going to ask next.
"Yes, honey?"
"Is there anything about my past... that I might need to know about?"
"N-No...why...?"
"I feel so empty, mom! I feel like, my heart isn't whole, like somewhere,
someone needs me...." His mother sat on the bed beside him, hugging him. "Oh, my baby,
my sweet baby..." "Are you hiding somthing, mom...?" he said as he looked at her, intently.
All she did was frown, looking away. "Mom...?" he said.
"Mom!? Just tell me!"
"NO!!!" she said as she was holding her son's shoulders, shaking them.
"I can not loose you...." Beginning to cry, she ran off into the other room.
Ed sat there with a hurt look on his face, imagining the image of what she kept from him was so awfull,
that it would force her to keep the truth from him.

"Yes sir!"
"You'll be a great State Alchemist."
"Thank you, sir!"
The colonel kneeled down and hugged his son, placing his head on top of the brown-haired head.
"I know you will, my boy." The kid smiled his million dollar smile, and the father adored him.
"You really think I'd be a State Alchemist...?" His father gave him a serious look. "Yes, and
that is an authorized prediction." He smiled. Both laughed.
"Colonel Maxwell, sir!"
"Yes, what is it?"
"You are requested by the king, sir."
"I'm on my way!"
They saluted and then the father went back to his son, holding one of his shoulders.
"Duo, I must go for now." His son nodded, then followed his eyes with his dad as he
walked to the door. Giving a salute when no one was around, he slumped back outside.
Sitting on the steps of the HQ, Duo sighed. "Why am I a great alchemist, but none of my
parents are..." Sighing once more, he decided to walk around.
Seeing the usual surroundings, he finnally got the ache again. Clenching his chest, he started
to find an ally way to sit down. He stopped at the closest ally, then started to lean aggenst the wall.
~
"You never told me you had this much trouble..."
"I don't know, did I have a best friend who left me?"
"Not that I know."
Duo looked up at his mother. "Am I an only child...?"
"O-Of ocurse you are... honey."
"A studder, you never studder.... {O.O} mom??"
"Oh no, honey... I..."
Duo looked at the ground, letting his expression unreadable.
"I had a brother, didn't I..."

End of the chapter, it COULD be considered a cliff hanger, but eh, I suffer it too. I'll try to update, and if I can't
I'll give the story to sum1 else >.>
