Sorrow Roads and Painful Paths

Chapter one:

 

I looked out into the darkness in front of me. I could hardly even see the street that lay ahead as I started walking. It was cold, to cold. I started to think about how I should have grabbed my jacket before leaving. I didn't know why I did it. Or maybe, I did. I couldn't stand it any longer. Well I'll tell you the story.

 

**Earlier That Day** (Flash Back Normal POV)

 

“Mom, Dad! We're home!” Said Crystal as she walked through the door with her brother. She hung her jacket on the rack and let her long blonde hair fall behind her. Her brother was her twin but had black hair. The two had both one red eye and the other green. They were this way because of the types of demons they had in them.

 

“Welcome home Matsu.” Said Kurama as he walked out of the kitchen. Funny you would think that if a man just became a “mother” then they would get all girly but Kurama stayed the same. Crystal just stood their as her mother, walked to Matsu and hugged him. She was used to this though. It happened every day. Come home, get ignore my parents, do homework, shower, get ignored more, then go to bed, then start all over the next day. She lived her whole 14 years like this.

 

*Later that Night*

 

“I'M SICK OF THIS! YOU TWO NEVER LISTEN!”

 

“Don't judge us like that young lady!”

 

“Judge…How can I judge you when you don't even know I exists! I do whatever I can to try and impress you and it never works! I'm sick of pushing myself to my limits just for every thing I do to go to waist while my brother gets all the attention!” She walked toward the door. Matsu ran in front of the door before she got to it.

 

“Sis! Stop this now! So what if they don't notice you! You have me and I am always here!” He wrapped his arms around her hugging her close. She pushed him away and opened the door and ran out. Matsu, Hiei, and Kurama just stood their.

 

“She will be back. She can't live with out Mommy and Daddy behind her.” Snarled Hiei.

 

“That's just it! You aren't behind her! You ignore her and you don't see that we are a pair! There are two of us not one!” Matsu yelled turning around glaring at them. Crystal was to far off to hear her dear twin brother defend her.

 

**End** (Back to Crystal's POV)

 

And you see, that is how it happened. I just couldn't take the fact that I was being ignored by my own parents! I mean, how would feel if your parents did the things mine do? You see when I was 6 they “accidentally” left me in the library. When I was 8 I fell off my bike and my brother tripped. They went running to my brother. And when I was 9 I fell off our bunk bed because I had the top and broke my arm. Of course it was Uncle Yusuke who came to my rescue while my parents just sat and watched TV.

 

I kept looking forward as I marched on. I was surrounded by the endless blanket of cold. I stopped to look up at the cloudy night sky. Tiny balls of white fluff fell from the sky. Snow, something that I loved so dearly. It may be cold but when the ground is hidden away by it, it just, calms me down. I shivered and looked around. There had to be somewhere warm to stay.

 

I knew I couldn't go to Uncle Yusuke or Aunt Keiko's home, or Uncle Kookaburra and Aunt Yakima's. They would just send me back home. I thought about going to see if Genoa could use any help with things but that was a bad idea as well. Not even going to the spirit world would do any good at this time. So one choice left. Demon world. I knew that my mother had a friend, well in a way a friend, in Demon world. Lord Yomi.

 

I continued walking again as the ground got whiter and whiter as the snow fell heavier to the cold ground under my feet. I knew of a portal around in the part where no one went. I couldn't believe it. I ran away, but it was to late now to turn back and run home to mommy and daddy. I needed to prove to them I was strong. Well that and it isn't like they would care if I came back or not.

 

I finally found it. The portal that was closed. But with a password it would open and I just so happened to heat Uncle Kuwabara say it. I guess it was good sometimes to have a big mouthed Uncle like him. I whispered the password into the special slot and the doors opened slowly. I could see that this was going to be an adventure I would never forget. But I still was left with wonder, would they even think about coming for me? I just shook it away and walked into the portal and the doors closed shut behind me.

 

It was warmer here but still cold. I saw a very short old demon standing about maybe 4 feet from me. I just stood there for a minute then walked forward to him. He nodded to me and turned and started walking. Out of instinct, I guess you would call it, I followed him.

 

“Lord Yomi has been awaiting your arrival. He knew that you would be coming so he had a room prepared for you. Even cloths and training equipment are ready for use.” Said the small one as we continued to walk. It wasn't long before we reached the large kingdom. I guess that the portal was meant to be close for this Yomi person was the King of Demon World. I didn't speak for I didn't even know what to say at the moment.

 

We walked to the doors of the main building. It was the largest building, but that was expected. As I walked through the doors two maids dressed in traditional Kimono's put a blanket over my shoulders to warm me up. I looked at them and they just bowed and walked off. I turned to look ahead once more and saw a man come toward me.

 

He had long black hair and what seemed to be horns of some type on his head. His eyes were close but that was because he was blind. Something hit me right away. A feeling, a weird one. It was something I have never felt before. Was it love? I didn't know. I have never felt love before so I didn't know what this was yet. He stopped in front of me and looked down at me with those closed eyes.

 

“You must be Crystal. Kurama and Heidi's daughter. I still don't understand fully why you decided to come to me but I sensed it and here you are. This is Yuda, my assistant. Welcome to my castle and my realm Ms. Crystal. I will show you to your room. Yuda you go and set up the stuff for the meeting.” The short one known as Yuda walked off and Yomi turned around and started walking. And again I followed my instinct and followed the man.

 

We stopped in front of a set of large doors. “I had the best guest room prepared for you. It is right next to mine so you won't have to worry about things. If you need anything while I am in the meeting then ask one of the maids or butlers. Oh and one more thing Crystal. Stay away from the meeting if you with to not have dear mommy and daddy find you are here.” I watched him as he walked off back down the way we came. I opened the doors and walked into the room. My parents here? I just shrugged and looked around my new room. It was huge! I had a huge bed with curtains surrounding it. All in black, my favorite color.

 

I walked to the bed and touched the soft blanket that lay comfy on top of the silk sheets. It was soft as fur. I walked to a closet and opened it. Many styles of clothing where in there. Gowns, night dresses, cloths to wear around, and even cloths to train in. It was all so grand. I yawned and felt my eyes seem to get a little heavy. I pulled a black nightgown off of the hanger and pushed the blanket off my shoulders. I took off my cloths and put the nightgown on. I was to tiered to pick up my cloths so I would do it when I woke up. I walked to the bed and got under the black silk sheets and the soft blanket of fur. I sighed and let my eyes get heavy and fall closing and turning my world back into darkness. I slept a dreamless sleep that night.

 

Finally a place where I wouldn't be ignored or forgotten. That life was in the past and this was the beginning of a new life.

 

AN: This chapter what Crystal telling the story. Next will be Kurama and Hiei then Matsu and then it will go into a normal POV. But hope you liked it so far. Please review…you don't have to but it would be nice to get a review so I know what things to fix or what not to fix. Chapter two is next…^^ Thanks for reading chapter one! Oh and FMA is coming up in chapter four I think. And the story will consist of mostly that after words but I will have the Yu Yu Character's and mine but in a FMA setting. ^^ Go me!
