Ed glared at the creature, the creature stared at Ed, Al looked at both before shaking the bag holding the creature's food. As for the past three weeks that creature glared at the bag as if it was something evil. Ed and Al had been changing food brands every day and still the creature would only nibble, sometimes vomiting under their desks during her nightly romps outside of the cage.

“Why is it she always stares at me while I'm eating?” Ed asked and the creature and Al stared at him while he attempted to devour a whole roast chicken.

“Maybe she doesn't like cat food, Big Brother,” Al suggested. “I'll go see if there's something she can eat in the cafeteria.” With that the large suit of armor left the room and the creature looked at Ed with an evil glare.

Al was walking down the hall when he heard the familiar sounds of Edward's cries and swears. Upon opening the door to the lab the armor encased soul was shocked into a statue-like state. The chimera was licking the bones of Ed's roast chicken clean, leaning over to eat some of his vegetables as the robbed alchemist was trapped beneath the larger creature's body.

“Big…brother?” Al asked and Ed glared at his brother, kicking his feet as his arms were pinned beneath the much larger creature.

“Al, help me!” Ed cried as the creature purred after finishing the fruit salad Ed was looking forward to for dessert.

“Oh, right, Big Brother,” before Al could move the chimera got up, burped and then moved into her cage, kicking her bowl of kibble out. “I think she was telling us something.” Ed's attention was on his demolished meal.

“I think I'll transmute her into a table,” he growled as he launched himself at the creature in the cage. Al managed to capture his brother as the creature made a hacking noise…to both brothers it sounded a lot like a suppressed laugh.

“Excuse me, I'm looking for Edwa…oh, so you did get placed here then,” a feminine voice asked and there was a sudden shift in the chimera's stance. The two brothers looked to the door to see a beautiful officer standing in the door, her long hair loose around her shoulders.

“Who are you?” Ed asked, doing the tough guy act, Al rolled his eyes and went over to the cage, closing it as the chimera stared at the woman, the playful light that illuminated those turquoise pools was gone, this was suspicion and hatred the likes of which Al had only seen in Ed's eyes.

“I'm Lieutenant Doctor Hereu Uee Thatcher, I worked in the Military lab where T-1 here was kept for the last couple years,” the woman said with a beautiful smile. Al thought she looked nice enough, but he had long learned to let Ed talk.

“I wasn't informed that you'd be stopping by, Lieutenant,” Ed stated, looking back at the creature that was looking at the woman as if ready to spring from the cage.

“Oh, I'm not here on business, just pleasure,” it was a whispered hiss, Ed recognized the way she fell into the husky voice. She was obviously used to men falling over themselves when she spoke that way. Ed let his metal hand curl into a ball till he could feel the metal's protest.

“And that would be?” he prompted. If Edward Elric disliked one thing about this job it was nosy intruders that got into his work, this woman had `Nosy Intruder' written all over her.

“I want to see T-1 of course, she's been a thorn in my side for so long, the past few weeks have been empty,” the woman laughed as she approached the cage and then came the shock of the Elric's time with the creature. Black lips pulled back as white fangs were bared and a deep, threatening growl emerged from the creature's throat.

“I think she doesn't like you,” Ed stated as he stepped between the woman and the cage.

“Probably not, I was in charge of her physicals and locking her in,” Thatcher chuckled, looking around Ed at the creature, a strange light appeared in her eyes as she looked at the creature. “Maybe some other time.” With that the woman was gone, the creature's growls proving the whole thing had happened.

“Lieutenant Thatcher, I thought you were in the Western Military labs, why are you here in Central?” Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye asked as she saw the said doctor exit the hallway leading to the Elrics' lab. The two women looked at each other. Both had gone to the same gun handling clinics all through training, of course Thatcher had eventually turned onto the alchemy path while Hawkeye had become the master of gun handling.

Thatcher put on a terribly fake smile, something about it put Hawkeye on the edge, waiting for an attack as the woman approached.

“Riza, darling, how have you been?” the woman laughed as she hugged the reluctant Hawkeye, to say reluctant was generous, the second to Mustang was about to pull out a weapon. “I heard you serve under that delicious Fire Alchemist. How is that deal?”

“Thatcher, I'm fine, I do work for Cornel Mustang, it's an acceptable position that has me busy most of the time,” Hawkeye stated before looking at her opponent. Thatcher shouldn't have been in Central. “What brings you here?” Thatcher was quick, her jabber and the hug had given her the time to think of an excuse, Hawkeye had no doubt her reason was farce.

“I'm trying to get a transfer to Central. The Western Research Facility is wonderful for research but everyone there is an old man and the stores are months behind on the latest fashions,” the woman laughed, playing the part of a foolish woman, Hawkeye knew much better.

“Well, I hope it goes well for you. I must be going, please excuse me, Thatcher,” she stated.

“I hope so too, keep an eye out for me, Riza,” Thatcher called as she moved towards the offices. Hawkeye watched the woman go. `Don't worry, Thatcher, I will be.'

Ed looked at the note on the floor as he entered the lab, empty cage, green eyes looking out from under Al's desk. Looking at the note, Ed's breathing escalated.

`I want to die,' the last words of Tucker's wife, the `first' chimera stared back at him. Ed looked at the creature and noticed a redness to the eyes, a dampness to the fur of the cheeks. In his heart, Ed knew that animals were capable of crying, but the soul staring back at him from the creature before him. He knew deep inside, there was a person trapped in the chimera under his brother's desk.

Roy smiled at me as I ran to him, my arms wrapping around him, burying my head into his chest, below his neck.

“Roy, Roy, my wild stallion!” I sobbed with joy, holding him tightly in my arms.

“Glad you're back, Kid,” he laughed as he ruffled my hair and I pushed his hand off my head, rather shocked when it landed on my breast. My breath caught in my throat as I looked at the hand on my chest, gently squeezing and stroking. I followed the arm to the shoulder, up the neck, and to the face of the only man I'd ever love. “Let's make up for lost time.” I gasped as my shirt was ripped off, revealing my lack of a bra.

“R-R-Roy…” I whispered as he wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling my hips against his, allowing me to feel the heat and the hardness there. “I…I won't be another conquest.”

“No, you never were,” he whispered as his lips touched mine. I couldn't help but close my eyes.

“Roy…” I whispered as his lips moved down. Suddenly teeth entered my skin and I screamed as I tried to pull back. The gapping wound in my shoulder let blood spill down my naked chest and I looked at the short, round creature before me and I began to scream.

“The Mother Alchemist tastes wonderful,” the thing before me chuckled, licking its lips.

“No!” I shrieked before running from it, far away I could see my Wild Stallion walking away from me. “Roy! Save me!” I ran after him, but he kept getting further away.

“You'll never escape me,” Shou's voice whispered and I screamed myself awake. I stared at my surroundings before curling up into a ball.

Sometimes being awake was worse than nightmares.
