A Christmas to Remember

Riza Hawkeye watched and helped the others put up the holly and the mistletoe for the day after tomorrow's Christmas party. Tomorrow was the annual Christmas ball before the office Christmas party. She glanced over at General Roy Mustang. She sighed as she was now under his command still. But life wasn't so bad when you have a huge crush on your boss. Though she couldn't act on it since she was still an underling to him. But she always is an underling to him. That was something she was having troubles even now to change. She turned and looked as the new Fuhrer Basque Gran. She saluted him as he walked up to her. “Sir is there something I can help you with.”

 

He shook his head slightly “I just need to speak to you alone Lt.” She nodded her head and followed him out.

 

She didn't no that Roy had looked way from hanging the ornaments on the tree to watch her walk out with him. “I hope he's not thinking of taking her from me.”

 

Ed chuckled “From working with you. I don't think so Roy.”

 

Riza followed Basque into his office and blinked when she saw her sister's daughter Angelina. Riza looked from her niece to the Fuhrer. “Sir?”

 

Basque turned and looked at Riza. “I been reading over the Secret Alchemist list and I see your name appears on here Hawkeye but yet you don't use yours. Why is that? And your sister was known as the state Alchemist of what might I ask?”

 

Riza sighed as she looked him in the eye “My sister wasn't the State Alchemist I was and still am. I am the State Love Alchemist. And was put on that list Sir when I was three.”

 

Basque blinked “A three year old a state alchemist that is surprising. But I'm sorry to say Lt. Since your sister is dead from her own dueling your now off that list and also buy the end of the year will no longer in the military.”

 

Riza nodded her head as she was handed her papers. “Aunt Riza they can't do this to you can they.”

 

Riza ruffled her niece sixteen year old blond hair. “They can Angelina. Sir New Year's day is my last day then.”

 

Basque nodded his head “Yes. Fill free to come to the ball and the office party Lt.”

 

Riza nodded and was followed out buy Angelina. She sighed as she got closer to the office “Are you going to tell them Aunt Riza.” She nodded her head

 

“After the office party I think.” Angelina nodded her head as they entered the office. Roy sat there petting her dog watching the door like a hawk. While Ed, Al, and Winry were talking and playing cards in the corner. They looked up when Riza and Angelina walked into the room.

 

“Well Lt. What did he want with you?”

 

Riza sighed “To let me know my sister is dead and to hand over my niece to me as well.” Angelina waved at everyone from beside her aunt. She looked up and blushed when she saw Ed looking at her and smiled brightly at him.

 

Winery walked over and smiled at Angelina “You want to play cards with me, Ed, and Al?” Angelina nodded her head and went over into the corner to play a round of Old maid.

 

Riza walked over and sat down and pulled out a book and was reading it. “You're hiding something from me Riza. How much did he offer you to what rat me out on every move I make or becoming his Lt.”

 

Riza shook her head and sat there reading and ignoring him. A couple chapters into her book Angelina walked over. “Aunt Riza.”

 

Riza put the book down and looked up at her niece “Yes?”

 

Angelina smiled at her Aunt. “Edward asked me to go to the ball with him tomorrow night is that alright?”

 

Riza nodded her head “That's fine.”

 

Angelina smiled “Oh and Winry wanted to know if she can come over and help me dress and stuff like that.”

 

Riza again nodded her head “That's fine.” Angelina smiled

 

“Mom left me some money to buy a dress and stuff can we go after work then Aunt Riza.”

 

She nodded her head again “We can. If it's alright with the General we might be able to leave early.”

 

Roy nodded his head “You may.” Angelina went back to tell Ed and the others while they finished up there card game. “Lt.”

 

Riza looked up at her commanding officer “Yes Sir?”

Roy gave her his normal smirk and asked what he was going to ask her. “I was wondering if I could take you to the ball tomorrow night.”

 

Riza blinked a couple times not knowing the others in the room was watching her for her answer. “Alright Sir?”

 

Roy nodded his head and watched as Riza, Angelina, and Winery left. Roy turned and looked at Ed and Al. “Females are strange things boys.” They all agreed with him.

 

Riza, Angelina, and Winry all drove over to the dress makers. Riza was the only girl I the group who was having trouble's picking out a dress. Nothing was right that she liked. Angelina giggled as she held up this one dress that was made for a love Alchemist. “Aunt Riza this would look lovely on you. It would look better on you then it would ever mom.”

 

Riza smirked slightly as she nodded and she bought it with the matching shoes. They drove back to Riza little apartment and put there stuff away. Winery was going to be staying until after the ball. Riza sighed as she tucked her niece into bed. “You look so much like Rita.”

 

Winry looked over at Riza “Who is Rita?”

 

Riza smiled as she looked at Winery “My sister and my best friend.”

 

Angelina smiled and yawned “You and mom looked so much like. You two were almost twins.”

 

Riza nodded her head “Now you two need your rest. I'm sure Al and Ed will be dancing the night away with two young ladies like your self.” The two girls nodded there heads and curled up and went to sleep. Riza walked down stairs to the kitchen and fixed her self a cup of tea. Riza walked over to her chair and sat there looking out the window. “What have you gotten me into Rita?” She shook her head as she sat there looking up at the stairs sadly as she drank her tea.

 

The next morning Riza was flipping out about the ball that was at 3p.m and lasted until midnight. “Why am I going with my soon to be ex boss?”

 

Angelina looked at her and couldn't help but giggle. “Cause you have a crush on him. And I think he likes you a lot.”

 

Riza turned and gave her niece a death glare that would put Roy's flame's to shame. “Hush I rather go in normal standard garb. But no this year females should dress like females.”

 

Winry walked in the room and giggled “She's flipping. And I think the general does like you. A lot I mean.”

 

Riza shakes her head “What ever you to. Here is breakfast. Then we all might as well get cleaned up do are hair and stuff. They should be here at 2:30p.m to pick us all up.”

 

The girls nodded and walked up stairs single filed. And went to get cleaned up after they got done eating waffles and pancakes with fruit and orange juice. Angelina looked at Winry “We have to get them to fall in love tonight. We just have to.” They sat there in there robes hashing out a plan.

 

Riza sighed as she sat there looking out the window as it started to snow gently. “There right. But it would never work out for me or for Roy. One or both of us would end up being dead.” She looked up as the girls entered her room. Riza smiled as she looked at Angelina in a stunning red strapless dress that has a black ribbon that ties it up the back and around her middle. Winry followed shortly in and she was dressed in a long black dress with spaghetti straps on it. “You two look lovely.”

 

Angelina smiles as she had her hair braided with white ribbon and was done up as a bun. “And the shoes fit to.” She reveals spiked black high heels. “Your not dressed yet Aunt Riza.”

 

Riza sighed as she met the two fastest females in the word. Before she could say “Stop that.” She found her self dressed and Angelina was brushing out her hair.

 

Winry smiled as she petted her slight curls as the door bell rang. “I will get it. It's more then likely the guys.” Winry went down stairs and smiled as she opened the door to three sexy males. “You guys clean up good.” She stepped aside to let the guys in.

 

Al smiled as he looked at his date. He was dressed in black tux with a white shirt and a black bow tie. “You look lovely Winry.”

 

Winry blushed “Thanks Al and so do you.”

 

Ed smirked as he stood there in dressed black pants, white jacket, with a black button up shirt under it, and his hair was pulled back with a black ribbon. “Is Angelina ready yet?”

 

Before Winry could answer that Angelina came down the steps. She grinned as she looked at her knight in his cute outfit. “Wearing your normal colors I see Edward.”

 

Ed blushed slightly “Yeah. Al teased me about it. But it's my colors.”

 

Angelina nodded her head as she looked at the General who was dressed in a black tux with a black tie with a white button up shirt under it. “Why no military garb?”

 

Roy sighed “We weren't aloud to. Is Riza ready yet?”

 

They all looked up when they heard someone clear there throat. They saw a golden haired angel dressed in pink walk down the steps slowly. Riza's hair was done up high on her head as it gently fell on her bare shoulders. She smiled as she saw all three guys have there jaws hitting the ground. “Hello General and you too Ed and Al.”

 

Al smiled “You look lovely Riza.”

 

Ed nodded his head “You clean up good.”

 

Roy stood there a little longer staring at her. “You're a vision.” He blinked a couple times. “You look good Lt.”

 

Riza smiled and blushed slightly “Thank you. It seems my niece does good work.” Al walked Winry out first and into his car. Followed then buy Ed and Angelina into his car. Roy and Riza slowly followed them out locking the door behind her.

 

Roy held the door open for her then got in him self. “You do look lovely Riza.”

 

Riza smiled “Thank you.” As they drove off towards the ball.

 

When Riza and Roy arrived at the ball it was in full swing.

 

Riza was dragged away from Roy. “I will catch up with you later Roy.”

 

Roy nodded as he went and stood over in the corner with all the other bachelors whose dates seem to have dashed off to dance with other guys or off into the dressing room were Riza was dragged earlier. “What's up with the women today?”

 

One man chuckled “I heard my date saying that the love Alchemist was here.”

 

Roy blinked “Who is it. I thought the love Alchemist died.”

 

The man shrugged his shoulders “No one knows who she is. I heard someone say that the one we thought was the state was only the sister of the state. It seems the real state one was just hiding out in the military.”

 

Roy was about to ask if the guy who he just now figured out was just a citizen when he noticed a giggling Riza coming out of the dressing room. He stood up and walked over to her. “Every thing ok?”

 

Riza nodded her head “It is sir.”

 

Roy smirked “How about a dance and until tomorrow you just call me Roy. As long as are heads aren't around.”

 

Riza smiled brightly and nodded her head “Alright Roy and I would love to dance.”

 

Roy felt him self start to melt in the look of Riza's smile. “Alright then Riza.” He took a hold of her and gently moved her around the dance floor. “I heard that the state love Alchemist is here.”

 

Riza nodded her head “I know I met her.”

 

Roy blinked “Oh who is she?”

 

Riza smiled at him “That's my little secret along with all the lady's here Roy.”

 

Roy frowned “Come on you can tell me. I will not go bug her or anything.”

 

Riza shook her head “Sorry but not yet.”

 

Before Roy could ask why not Angelina came up followed buy a bunch of women who Ed and Al were trying to hold back. “Sorry Aunt Riza they want to talk to you.”

 

Riza sighed as she heard them call her buy title. She looked up at a very shocked look on Roy's face as she moved away from him. “What's the problem lady's?”

 

One lady walked up to her “Why did you tell my daughter she was going to marry that loser.”

 

Riza sighed “Well because no matter what you do she will. And this is the wrong place to be doing this.” They all sighed and nodded there heads “And one more thing you shouldn't have done that to your husband.” She smirked and turned back to Roy.

 

Roy sighed “Lets step outside for some fresh air.”

 

Riza sighed and nodded her head as she was walked outside. “I know what your wondering why no one knew or you either.”

 

Roy nodded his head “Explain every thing Riza and don't leave anything else.”

 

Riza sighed as she walked up to the railing and took a couple deep breaths before she spoke. “Well my family has been know for being love Alchemist. It's more of well a curse. Every man that dares to marry one of us dies. Either shortly after killing us or buy trying to kill us and then we kill them.” She looked up at the night sky as she stars started to come out. “A very long time ago was when the curse started. Back when my great, great, great grandmother's husband cheated on her with every woman in the village. She asked to be able to see into the hearts of men and others to see what they will do. She was the first one of us. And as the story goes every male kills us.” She turned and looked at him noticing he was listing then speaking. “I became one at three. My sister didn't become one until she was ten.”

 

Roy nodded his head he felt sad for her but yet something else he wasn't sure what it was yet. “Go on.”

 

Before Riza could Ed came out. “Yes Ed?”

 

Ed smiled “Were going to take the girls home now and head off home then Riza.”

 

She nodded her head “Alright then. Tell them I said good night.”

 

Ed nodded his head “I will. Good night then Sir.”

 

Roy nodded his head and looked back at Riza “You want me to take you home?” He really wanted to hear the rest.

 

She shook her head “Not unless you're tired.”

 

He shook his head “No but I could use a cup of coffee?”

 

She smiled “That sounds good.”

 

He smiles as he walks her back inside and out to his car. He got in and looked at her “Know any place that makes a good cup.”

 

She sighed “No but I make a pretty good cup. But the girls are back at my place.”

 

He nodded “How about my place. Just for a cup then I drive you back home after wards?”

 

She thought about it for a min and nodded her head “Sure ok.”

 

He smiled and drove to his home that was really like right behind her place. “Were here.” He helped her out of the car and inside.

 

She smiles as she looks at it “Its lovely Roy.”

 

Roy smiled “Thank you Riza.”

 

She walked into the kitchen and started the pot of coffee. After the coffee was done she poured them a cup each and brought it out to him. “Here you go.”

 

Roy smiled at her “Thanks.” He took a sip and smiled “Your right.”

 

Riza blushed slightly as she sat down smiling “Thanks.”

 

Roy smiled “Back to the story.”

 

Riza nodded her head “Right. Oh were was I? Oh yeah now I remember.” She sighed as she started again “When my mom found out that I was just what she was a love Alchemist she asked if there was a way to keep it hidden until I was older or I was ready to come out and say `Hey I'm a love alchemist.' That's when we found out about the secret list.” She took a sip of her coffee.

 

“What does the list mean?” Roy took another sip

 

Riza sighed “The list is only used buy those who are way too young to really be out there working or in there parents eyes out there doing alchemy. Or in there eyes there just not ready.” She finished her coffee

 

Roy finished his before he spoke “And I guess Angelina is one.”

 

Riza shook her head as she put her cup down. Not noticing she was giving him a clear view down the front of her dress. “She was a lucky one. She isn't one. Were all hoping that the cure was broke with her?”

 

Roy gulped hard before he nodded his head “That's good then.”

 

Riza blinked as she stared at him. “Is something the matter Roy?” She stood up going to walk into the kitchen.

 

Roy stood up and walked right up behind her and spun her around into him and bent his head and kissed her lips hard.

Roy closed the door behind her and leaned against the door for a second before he removed his tie. He growled and opened the door to see Riza still standing there. Riza walked in quietly back into her house into the face of four faces. “You girls should be in bed. And you two boys should be back at your own place and in bed.”

 

Ed sighed “The girls called us when you didn't show up.”

Ed and Al looked at the girls “We will go now.”

 

Angelina made sure the guys were gone when she asked “How does he look naked?”

Winry giggled “I'm sure everything will work out in the end.”

 

Riza sighed as the girls went off to bed “I sure hope so.”

 

Roy was already started his office party early. He had to deal with Riza in seven to eight hours. “To hell with the rules.”

 

Later that day about eight clocks Riza was dressed in her uniform for the last time she ever has to wear it. “Alright girls you two stay here and tomorrow it will be a go out and shopping day.”

 

Angelina blinked “Don't you have to go to work tomorrow or something?”

 

Riza shook her head “I have all this time off until the new year. I might as well use it since I start my other job after the New Year.”

 

The girls nodded her heads and wished her good luck with Roy. “You're going to need it.”

 

Riza sighed as she left her puppy with them and headed off to the office to the party.

 

Roy put down his coffee cup and grabbed his bag and walked his way to work.

 

Riza sighed as she walked. “This day is going to suck. I just so know it will.”

 

Roy looked around in his office to find that he was the first between him and Riza to get there to work. He put his bag away and with out her telling him to got down to doing his paper work. As he signed this and initialed that his mind was on the girl who he fucked last night.

 

Riza took a deep breath and entered the office and blinked as she noticed that Roy was doing his paper work and didn't pay her any mind. She sat down and finished her work before the party could start.

Riza got up and nodded her head. She took the papers and left to go hand them over to Fuhrer. She walked back up to the office to find that the party had already started. She opened the gifts they gave her and smiled as she thanked them and put them away in her already very clean desk. She smiled as they had cleaned it out before her or Roy got there to work.

 

Roy grabbed the bag and walked over to Riza's desk and put it down on it.

 

Riza looked up into the slightly hurt and lust filled eyes of Roy. She opened the bag to find her shoes in them. “Oh I thought I lost them Sir thank you for finding my shoes.”

 

Roy nodded but gave her a dirty look as he walked over to the egg nog and drank a glass down.

 

Riza grabbed her things together as Roy sat back down. “Its getting late and I promised the girls I take them shopping in the morning.” She got up and left the room.

 

Roy got up and walked out after her. “Lt.”

 

Riza stopped as she looked back at Roy “Yes sir?”

 

Roy couldn't almost hold back the smirk that was on his face. “Were do you think your going Riza with out leaving me some kind of note.”

He grinned as he heard someone knocking on his door. He finished his glass before he got up and opened the door and smiled at Riza. “Hello Riza.”

Winry was happy for them and asked when they were getting married. Of course neither one could truly give an answer to her. But Angelina took one look into her aunt's eyes and knew that Riza knew next year was going to be a blue Christmas for her and maybe for Roy to. For someone was going to have a very blue Christmas next year if not a New Year.
