Fullmetal Alchemist Fan Fiction ❯ Before All the Hype ❯ One-Shot
[ A - All Readers ]
Disclaimer- You know the drill. I own nothing that belongs to Hiromu-san. Only the plot and my niche mentioned in my AN at the end of the fic.
How ya'll doin'? I'm glad you've taken the time to click the link to read my fic. I would love to get some reviews to tell me how I've done on this little fic. Just please don't be harsh. I'm overly sensitive and I cry easily. (-.-`) No flames, either. Because, honestly, I'll just laugh. ^.^
Without further ado, on with the fic-ness!!!

“Hey, you think maybe you could help me out here?”
“No. I don't think I can.”
Sigh. “You don't look to busy to me. What's the problem…?”
Two voices reverberated through the medium sized room. Shelves sat upon the walls, stacked with many miscellaneous object. Smells from the outside world wafted in through the open window. The man placed one vial of liquid in a cabinet before grabbing another and placing it in next to it. His obsidian eyes moved to the blond haired young woman sitting across the room as he ruffled his black hair.
She was oblivious to his watchful gaze as she continued to fill out numerous forms with the aide of her clip board. Her amber eyes moved quickly across the paper as she flicked her pen over the paper.
“I do not choose to help you. I have work to do just as you do. Just because we are working together from now on, doesn't mean I have to help you with things that have nothing to do with me,” she answered coolly. He sighed loudly and gave up. He continued cleaning up the days mess until everything was back in its proper place. The man, Roy Mustang, looked back over to his co-worker, Riza Hawkeye as she finished filling out the last of her papers. She took them into her hands and tapped them on the clip board to straighten them before paper clipping them together.
“I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't stare,” she said to him. Roy smirked.
“I'm sorry, but I couldn't help myself. You're too beautiful to keep my eyes off of,” he purred out in a sultry voice. After a moment, she stood from her chair and calmly walked from the room as if she had never heard his comment. Roy growled in displeasure.
He swiftly followed her outside where he spotted her walking out of the lobby. He chased after her and called out to her. She stopped and turned to him with an icy stare.
“Can I help you, sir?”
“You know, you really should stop playing hard to get. Just admit that you like me.” He took a step towards her and reached out his hand to touch her shoulder. In a split second, she had reached behind her and pulled her gun from its holster and shoved it in Roy's face. He jumped back in fear as he stared at the gun's barrel.
“I don't know about you, sir, but I don't want my job to end because of an… unfortunate circumstance. I suggest you straighten up your act or my finger just might slip,” she told him as she lightly began pulling the trigger.
Roy gasped and immediately jumped behind the nearest person to him. Who just happened to be his best friend, Maes Hughes. He raised a brow as he watched his friend cower in fear behind him until Maes saw the source of his fear. The gun was now shoved in his face as his eyes became as wide as saucers.
“R-Roy, what's going on? Why is there a gun in my face?” he laughed out nervously.
“Because she's trying to kill me!” he exclaimed.
“Well I'm the one that's about to be killed!” he shrieked back.
“I don't care! It's your life, not mine!” Maes gulped and stared fearfully at the death contraption wielded by the infuriated woman in front of him. “Please don't kill me! I can't leave my girlfriend alone, not my Gracia!”
Riza's eyes narrowed for a moment before she relaxed and returned her gun to its rightful place. She sent a dangerous glare in Roy's direction before turning on her heel and stalking off to her car.
As she became farther and farther away from the two stooges, she began thinking about her new colleague. The corners of her lips turned up only slightly as she thought about him.
`Maybe this won't be so bad after all. He is pretty good looking…' She stopped and mentally slapped herself before stepping into her car and driving home.

I wrote this at the request of my friend DolphinAngel 14 (FF.net) because she didn't want to be the only one with a published story in our “niche,” that consists of me and her… I first wrote this story two years ago as a class assignment. I never got the paper back, but I remembered it well enough to write this (my teacher probably kept it because she hates me. She thinks I'm a whack job)! Changed a few things here and there and BAM! There
you have it.
And one last thing about the title. I decided to call it Before All the Hype because this takes place before Roy, Riza, and Maes get into the big stuff of the military. You know what I mean? ^^
