Fullmetal Alchemist Fan Fiction ❯ Brother ❯ 1. Brother ( Chapter 1 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
A/N: I can't believe I'm even starting another fic. I have had writer's block for months, and I'm probably not ever going to update this, but what the hell, I'll write it anyway. Oh yeah, and I don't own FullMetal Alchemist.
1. Brother
I hate it. I can't stand how he acts so strong. You can tell he's hurting, but he pushes it aside and acts like nothing is wrong...but there is. I can tell in the way he's alway sighing and looking out the window. His mind is set on other things. Probably more thoughts of how he's going to get our bodies back. But if it's going to cause him this much hurt...I don't want it back. I don't want him to suffer. I don't want him hurt.
But he will be hurt. We both know it. We knew the risks of becoming the dogs of the military, yet we took them anyway. He loathes the mere thought of having to work with the military, and he hates everyone in it, including himself. You should see the way he looks at Colonel Mustang. It's a look of pure hatred. It's kind of scary...
I can tell he wants to go home. Return to the way things used to be. And I do too. But we need to finish all this work first. All of this hard, dangerous work. Brother's going to get himself killed one day... He just works way too hard. He doesn't know when to stop...
I'm afraid one day it'll be too much for him...
"I'm afraid Scar's killed yet another alchemist, sir," Riza Hawkeye sighed, setting down Colonel Mustang's coffee on his desk.
Roy sighed, "He's not going to stop until we catch him, Lieutenant, and the way things are looking, I don't think we'll be catching him for quite a while."
"Sir, we can't just let a deranged murderer run around town!"
"Hawkeye, do you think I don't already know that? We're trying our best to capture him, yet he keeps slipping from our grasp," He told her in a low voice. "all we can do is keep trying, Riza. That's all we can do."
She nodded, "Yes, sir. You're right. I'm sorry."
"Wow...it's gotten late. Where's FullMetal and his brother?" Roy asked, taking a sip of his coffee.
"No, sir. They left for a walk a little while ago."
"... And you people actually believed they intended to just go on a walk? Hawkeye, knowing Ed, he's off trying to catch Scar on his own!"
Riza sighed, "Dammit... I should have known..."
"No time for regrets, Hawkeye. Let's go look for them."
"Right."
"Damn... I hate the rain..." Brother whined, walking next to me.
"I used to love the rain brother. When I could feel it..." I sighed, trying to remember how the rain felt when it fell against your skin.
I want skin...
Brother was quiet. I think my mention of not having a body has put him back in a depressive state... I need to learn how to watch what I say more closely.
"Al... You... You know I'm going to get your body back for you..right?" Ed asked, looking at me out of the corner of his eye.
"Yes, Brother... I do."
"D-Do you hate me, Al?" Ed stared up at me, his amber eyes almost pleading.
"Of course not, Brother!" I could never hate Ed. He's done so much for me, for everyone. I admire and look up to him.
I think my admiration for him is unhealthy.
I keep catching myself staring at him. He's beautiful. Ugh, what am I saying? He's my brother! Liking your siblings like that is disgusting! I can't believe I'm even thinking this...
"You sure, Al?"
"I'm positive." I wanted to hug him. I wanted to wrap my arms around him, but I was afraid of hurting him. My armor is too big and heavy.
I want my body back.
Ed went quiet again. I guess he's wrapped up in more thinking. He thinks way too much. He should act his age, instead of an old man. I'm really starting to worry about him.
"Brother? Are you okay?" I ask.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm fine, Al. Don't worry about me."
Too late, Brother. I've been worried about you for a long time...
Scar ran down the street. Being pursued by people from the military isn't exactly fun.
"Damn, they run fast," He panted, leaning against the wall to catch his breath. That was when he saw Brother and I.
"Brother, look!" I pointed ahead of us to a man who was standing against the wall.
Ed growled, "It's Scar..."
"Edward Elric. I was going to go search for you next, but you spared me the trip," Scar said, walking towards us.
"Fuck you," Edward spat.
Brother has such bad language...
"I wouldn't exactly mind that," Scar looked thoughtful for a moment while Brother's face twisted in disgust. "Maybe I'll fuck you when you're dead."
"You sick freak..."
I could tell Ed was really freaked out now, and so was I... Scar is scary...
"I was joking," Scar said. "But I am here to kill you."
"No really? I thought you were here to ask me on a date." Ed rolled his eyes.
Scar blinked, and walked forward more, reaching out his arm to place it on Ed's face and do the brain-blow-up-thingie.
Ed backed up, and did alchemy on his metal arm to turn part of it into a blade. I sat here watching the fight for a while.
"AH!"
The scream broke me from my thoughts. I looked up, but Brother and Scar were gone.
I heard shouts of worry behind me. Turning around I saw Colonel Mustang and Lieutenant Hawkeye running up.
"Where's FullMetal?!" Roy asked, as he and Hawkeye slowed to a stop.
"I... I don't know," I whispered.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Hawkeye glared.
"Scar... he... Ed... Brother..."
"Scar has him?" Roy's eyes were wide with worry.
I nodded, "Please... Help him."
