(3 days after Roy learned that Ed had "died")

Roy stood outside the Rockwell residents. How would he break the horrible news to them? He had no idea.

Roy knocked and nodded solemnly to Winry as she opened the front door. How to tell them...how to tell.

(Winry POV)

I was really surprised when Colonel Mustang showed-up on our door step.

He looked as though he hadn't slept in a week and I told him so.

He sighed and said that it was only 3 days, not a week.

I can't…no I won't believe that Ed and Al are dead.

When Mustang told us that they were, Granny fainted, and I started babbling in shock.

I just can't except it. It can't be right.

Ed and Al were my best friends! I won't believe that they're dead.

And that’s that.

(With Ed and Al)

Ed opened his eyes slowly. The pain he felt was almost unbearable.

Almost.

Ed blinked again slowly before jumping up into sitting position.

His only thought was "Where is Al?"

The suit of armor was laying in the middle of the circle were he had left it.

staggering over to it, Ed took off the helmet and started to dismantle it, hoping against hope that Al was in there.

Al blinked. everything was so bright.

Why did he feel so cold?

wait...COLD!

"Brother?" Al asked in a small voice.

"Al! Your really alive!" Ed yelled as he hugged Al enthusiastically.

Al was alive! He was whole.

Al enjoyed the embrace but something was odd...

"Brother...why...?" Al didn’t finish his sentence, he was too confused.

Ed simply screamed.

(3 years after Ed left HQ)

Ed walked through the buildings double doors, flashing the pocket watch at the guards.

Ed headed towards Colonel Mustangs Office.

"Hey Riza." Ed said while passing her.

Riza just stared, aghast, "Was that ED?" she asked herself. "No. Ed was..."

A young man ran past her, stopped short, tuned around, and bowed, before hurrying on his way.

"strange.." was all Hawkeye thought at the moment.

Roy stared at his paper work "Only a little more to go." he grumbled.

Ever since Fullmetal died, Roy had become devoted to his paper work.

Roy put his head on his desk. He hadn't been getting a good night's sleep for three years.

Roy fell asleep, He was too exhausted to have dreams. Thank goodness.

Ed and Al stood outside Roy's office, "Al, stay out here until I call you, ok?"

Al nodded, a cat in his arms.

Ed smiled his trade mark smirk and patted the cat's head. "It'll be ok." Ed said opening the door without knocking and walking in.

Ed stepped though the door frame and looked towards the desk and froze.

The sight was almost too funny and Ed stifled a giggle.

There was Roy drooling all over his paper work!

Ed walked in the direction of the desk and stopped right next to Roy.

He looked cute, so different form the usual smirking know-it-all that everyone knew.

Roy was half awake, someone was petting his head, and running their fingers through his hair.

Roy didn't care who it was, it felt too good.

Roy almost felt content for the first time in 3 years.

Ed looked down at Roy and saw him twitch.

Smirking, Ed thought,"So Roy's like a kitten, huh?"

"Hey, Colonel Shit," said Ed. that was his traditional greeting for Mustang.

Roy sat straight up. No one except Fullmetal ever called him that.

Roy couldn't believe it. after all these years, had Ed come back?

Roy slowly turned his head, only to see golden eyes staring back at him.

"Fullmetal...?" It was more question then statement.

Ed smiled, "The one and only!" he announced. "but I'm a little different." Ed stepped away from Mustang and sat down on the black leather couch. Not much had changed, the only thing missing was the stack of papers. Roy's been doing paper work? The world had most certainly gone crazy in his absence.

Roy looked and Ed and his Mouth fell open "OH MY GOSH!" screamed Roy.

Everyone within a 10 mile radius could hear him.

Everyone in HQ wondered if the sky was falling.

That would be the only time the great Colonel Roy Mustang would yell right? Well the Fullmetal Alchemist could make him yell but hey Fullmetal was a catastrophe waiting to happen anyways.

Riza, Fury, Maes,and Havoc came running.
