Martel was never confused.
She was collected and calm as she was raised to be. She never questioned doubt and never wandered too far outside herself.
And she could easily claim herself as 'self centered'.
so then then why?
why was she helping him?
of all people?
He'd killed greed and was quite fond of himself doing so yet she still felt the odd feeling sit inside of her.
was this passion she felt?
No.
she never had never felt a beat of love in her life.
so then... simple curosity?
currious of that strong metal limb he had tucked away from all living forms?
yes that is defenately it.
it has to be.
For Martel never loved.
well..
Anyone beside herself anyway.
She chuckled quietly and leaned back into the grainy blanket of sand; beside the sleeping boy.
She looked to the stars then switched her gaze down to him.
She examined him quickly, looking over his tiny complexion then hungrily bringing her fingers to his hair. she curled her nails into his blonde locks and noticed the hardened expression on his face fade.
She smiled and removed her lithe fingers and brought them upon the rough metal.
She prodded at it lightly; every now and then looking to his face to check if he still rested.
Once, his eyes fluttered open and she met gaze with him.
For a moment she marvled at the golden shade of his eyes when under the starlight but turned imediately; blushing furriously.
Her thoughts raced as she heard a low murmer and felt him shift slightly closer to her. She shivered lightly as he threaded his arms around her thin waist and let it sit there.
She smiled.
Its not like she liked him or anything..
She was just glad to have warmth in such cold times...
yes thats it.
It always would be.
Because...
Martel never loved.
