Ed followed her gaze into the sky up to a giant wheel that had just popped out of the ground from a few yards away. They went to the spot of birth where they found a small crowd surrounding someone in the middle. Ed and Mary elbowed through the crowd to see a man in the middle lying on top of a very large transmutation circle. As Mary was watching the man Ed had spoken to some of the people. Ed walked over to Mary as the crowd began to dissipate and spoke low in her ear.
“This man is a fair worker he was trying to create a Ferris wheel using alchemy, but made it too big, he didn’t have enough energy to finish the seats then he just passed out. Looking at the unconscious man. Mary all of a sudden walked over to the man and with surprising strength pulled him away from the minimized crowd. When she was done with that she walked over to the transmutation circle then walked over it and moved closer to the Ferris wheel of which many had noticed began to tilt violently. Ed followed her without the slightest clue of what she was planning on doing. When she suddenly stopped he stopped along with her looking at Mary who had obviously begun to concentrate very hard. When she stepped onto the wheel standing up looking down at the metal, Ed realized what she was doing, which surprised him since he had seen this many times before. She was going to finish the mans work. But, he didn’t know if it would work this time. He watched her closely as she took a deep breath then clapped her hands then threw them down onto the bronzed metal of the Ferris wheel. At first nothing happened but then a huge burst of light swept over the crowd blinding them all. Ed moved in closer to see that the Ferris wheel had become a very large sparkling mass as if it was a large group of diamonds forming to re create the Ferris wheel. Then he watched it solidify into silver like metal. Then he noticed that large blobs began to sprout from certain parts on the wheel, he wanted to know what they were but the light intensified and forced him to close his eyes.
When the light dimmed then finally disappeared he looked over to the wheel to see that Mary had disappeared along with it he ran over to the wheel and looked behind the platform where Mary had fallen after finishing the wheel. He walked over to her; she was sweating profusely and looked somewhat drained. He held out a hand to her, and helped her up. He walked her out onto the platform where a large crowd of people had begun to cheer for the strange girl. The Ferris wheel worker then ran over to Mary and grabbed her hand and smiled widely
“Wow, I thank you s much mamm, not many people can create a working ferris wheel I w-”he began but was interrupted by Mary.
“It really works?” she asked excitedly smiling up hopefully at the man. He nodded in reply to her then opened a door to one of the cars which Ed had realized were the blobs that he had seen sprouting from the wheel. Mary stepped into it followed by Ed; they sat down in the seat as the worker closed the door and signaled for another worker to start the wheel moving. With a jolt the wheel began to move forwards stopping only every once while to let more passengers board the cars. Mary starred out at the landscape that they were now getting a better view of as the sun began to set, Ed however starred at Mary.
“That was amazing” he told Mary. She turned her head and smiled at him, noticing how he was looking at her. She had never seen anyone look at her that way, she really didn’t know what it meant but she hoped it was good.
“Well that’s what I get for having two alchemists for parents, it’s really nothing the whole no circle thing I wouldn’t know how to do it if my father had taught me how, well at least how to go about it, not just anyone can do it.” she replied. Ed was just dying to ask her something but he was afraid it would hurt her and he didn’t want to do that especially after the ay had been going so well already. But he had to know.
“Mary how did your parents die?” Edward asked, hoping that he didn’t hurt her too much. Mary stopped smiling and began to look down at her feet; tears began to well up in her eyes. Edward felt bad about this and wanted to kick himself for what he has done to Mary but he needed to know and he knew that. Mary sat there in silence for a bit then she began to speak in an almost dead tone.
“An explosion, and a fire caused by it. Investigations believed it was an assassination attempt, that whoever did it wanted to know something about my fathers work and when they finished they blew it up with alchemy.” she said. She lifted her head and looked at Ed who was staring at her intently as if there were nothing else in the world to look at, like she were the one and only, single, primary, thing in existence. Mary ended up doing the same and they began to lean in towards each other very slowly, they got closer and closer until they met in a kiss staying there for a moment as the wheel moved around and around with them in it. When they withdrew from each other Ed put his arm around Mary bringing her in close to him. She leaned her head against his shoulder and her breathing slowed. And they stayed there like that until Mary’s head left his shoulder and she was staring into space with a blank expression on her face, mouth open. Then she began to blink again and she turned her head towards Ed who had been staring at her in confusion.
“Ed we need to get off of the ride something’s going to happen” Mary said as she leaned over Ed apparently looking for someone. But all of a sudden the wheel stopped and it began to lurch back and forth. Men, women and children began to scream in fright at the motions. It appeared that a group of three people were attacking the wheel the tallest woman had extended her fingers and was now using them to attack the wheel and a short fat man was literally eating parts of the wheel causing it to become unstable and lurch violently back and forth. And another woman was standing on the platform throwing people out of the cars as they went around looking for somebody. Ed grabbed Mary from almost falling over the edge by grabbing her but the woman began to lurch to hard in causing Ed and Mary to be thrown from their car falling towards the ground. Ed kept a hold on Mary as they fell, he had her grab onto his waist and he clapped his hands as they were about 200 feet form the ground and gaining speed all of a sudden a once hot dog stand had transmuted into a very large inflated pad that stood about 10 feet from the ground at the command of Ed‘s hands. Ed and Mary continued to fall people watching pointing and screaming unaware of the safety device the young boy had transmuted. Until Mary and Ed hit the pad and created a very large dent in it from falling so fast. Mary and Ed laid there for a moment looking at each other smiling. Then they slid off the pad as a crowd of people began to swarm them. But surprisingly the trio that had been attacking the wheel had disappeared. But the wheel still began to wobble violently and eventually began to fall towards the crowd of people that had circled around Ed and Mary. They all began to scream and run but they wouldn’t make it as the wheel was already halfway to the ground but it was stopped when 8 very large poles shot up from the ground and welded with the falling wheel stopping it from hitting the ground and killing everybody at about 50 feet from the ground. The crowd turned two see the two youngsters suffering the consequences o something so powerful with the boy gripping his hands on his knees and the girl on the ground and unconscious as the people began to swarm as to help the two, a very loud voice yelled, don’t touch them! As multiple people in military uniforms came forward and took the two kids away.
