((Chapter 1))
"Your hair is soft too...I bet it's real. Isn't it? It's not that cheap dye that you pay someone to put on it. This makes it all the better..." He smiled and cut off a couple strands of blonde hair and sniffed it. "Smells good too. Who would have thought, right under all there noses...though your beginning to be a pain...but its all the better." He patted her forhead, touched the chains on her wrist and ankles. "Isn't it...Hawkeye?"
..........................................
"You know Mustang, your close, only a little more to go before you become Fuhrer...remember what you said?" Jean Havoc, first Lieutenant in command, nudged Roy Mustang, now the Brigadiar General, with his elbow and whispered in his ear. "About those mini skirts, maybe they would give it some thought now."
"Hmm, now that you mention it, maybe I should bring it up before Them. I haven't spoke anything about it yet BUT-"
"Colonel! Hawkeye!" Havoc smiled happily and whirled around, picking up a small piece of clothing, seemingly out of nowhere. "How about you try-" Three gunshots echoed loudly in the small break room, the empty shells hitting the floor one by one. Havoc looked through the three small wholes, right in the middle of the mini skirt he held in his hands.
"What were you saying?" Riza Hawkeye, now a Colonel, feared by most secretly because of her skill with guns and her cool composure, looked at Havoc with that serene expression on her face, her eyebrows tinted upward ever so slightly. For once in his life Havoc didn't have a cigarette in his mouth, at least now they knew it was permanate. Hawkeye stepped on the bud of it.
"Notihng...nothing at all!" He waved his hands in front of him slowly. "I just wanted to give this to you...to give to a friend...of mine." It was a quick lie and EVERYONE knew it but it was clear Havoc wanted to keep his body free of holes today. "But seeing that you ruined it..." He glared but stayed a good distance away, stopping his sentence, he thought he was one of the smart ones, knowing when to be quiet when Riza looked at someone like that, and this time he was. Espicially when Hawkeye had a gun anywhere near her, which was most of the time. Secretly they all feared her in one way or another.
Hawkeye took an empty seat beside Kain Fuery, now Second Lieutentant, right now he was on her good side and for that he was lucky. "I was tired...but now I'm awake." He shook his head, one of these days Roy and Havoc were really going to get hurt and the one doing the hurting was going to be Hawkeye.
Riza took a small sip of her coffee, her gaze scanning over the paper in her hands as Roy and Havoc kept on whispering to each other, Roys last words "I'll probally ask them later."
Roy and Havoc were scheeming together about god knew what, Riza was sipping her coffe and reading the paper, Fuery was playing with Black Hayate. Sergeant Vato Falman and Second Lieutentant Breda Heymans were just now walking in. There "so-called peace" was interrupted when jumped back and away from Black Hayate who had sneaken up behind him. "Whats that thing doing here!?"
"How can you be scared of him? He so cute." Fuery picked up Black Hayate and scratched him behind the ears. Dogs weren't allowed in the sleeping quarters but that was a good distance from here. "Its storming outside, as you can see clearly through the window, Heymans, I couldn't very well leave him outside." Hawkeye didn't look up from reading as she spoke.
"Well you could have left him at home." Heymans muttered. Havoc smiled widly with a wicked look in his eye, oh yea, he was up to something. He took Hayate from Fuery and all but shoved the dog in his face. "How can you be scared of him? Why be scared of something you can eat?" Heymans stepped back, a good distance away.
Hawkeye snapped her fingers and Hayate wiggled out of Havocs hands and ran to sit at her side. They were all thinking the same thing, she had trained that dog good AND she didn't trust Havoc anywhere near Hayate.
All was getting quiet, Hawkeye had already left to do some work, unlike the others. Havoc couldn't take it anymore. "Its been so bored around here. Why?! Come on, Mustang, why are you holding out on us? I know you have something for us to do...I can't stand for it to be like this much longer."
"As a matter of fact, I do have something."
"About time." Havoc muttered.
"I have something for ME to do...a date. As for you guys, sorry." Fuery felt like banging his head on the table and Havoc groaned. "Not again..."
Luckily, after that, he told them the assignment that had been assigned to them.
..........................................
"In a small town, Crimson City, theres been murders going on." Roy sat down at his desk, laying a finger near the mark of the city, on the map laid out across the desk.
"Murders?" Heymans said the one word lamely. "Why was this assigned to us? This isn't our duristriction."
"Not normally but we suspect Alchemy is being used in the murders. From what I've been told he goes after women only. Butchering them, torturing them until they die, thats what they thing, not know. Theres been one or two murders everyone one to two weeks for three months now. Their trying to keep it on the down low, enough people are already frightened out of there minds because of it. And they dont know when he is going to strike, the police over that durestriction thought they knew when he was going to strike and then He changed tactics on them." Roy laid out a few pictures of the disfigured bodies.
"Women?" Falman questioned.
"Yes, and hopefully we can put an end to this before it gets anymore out of hand. I don't like having to leave Central over something like this."
"You don't have to go, your not being made to go, Sir." Havoc blew a circle of smoke in the air.
Roy shrugged. "Still, I'm going." Though that was putting himself in danger, many knew that and sometimes Roy did think he was indestructable. "And from what I can tell, Crimson City is well named, its supposedly called that because of the amount of blood thats been shed over the years." He looked up at Falman, Hawkeye, Havoc, Heymans and Fuery. This was the first time they'd all had a mission together, all of them, but this was because, in this area of this murder they all had expierence that was needed. "We'll be gone for a while. We leave in the morning, eight sharp."
"In the morning...!" Havoc muttered.
