NOTE----Again, I do not own any of the characters, but I do own Lilly.
A few days passed and the girl showed no sigh of communication. When she was brought her food she had to be taught how to eat. Pretty much everything had to be taught to her. She knew nothing. She stayed in her bed and Al would bring her something to color with and showed her how to use them , but she never did much else. Ed traveled back to the place they found her alond with Mustang and Hawkeye. They followed the blood trails that lead from the woods untill the spot were she was found. Were the blood started, was almost as if she had been shot from far away yet there were no gun wounds only cuts. Nothing gave them clues as to where she came form or where she was planning to go. They found on discarded clothes or any other sign of her belongings. She was a big mystery. When they returned, they found thatshe had taken a liking to Al. She would smile as he talked to her and tryed to get her to respond. She never did, but she enjoyed his company.
"I named her Lilly. She loved the flowers I brought in for her so I thought that it would suit her. She hasn't told me her name, but once I said Lilly she smiled and her face brightened up a bit." Al said to them. "She love to color and so far her favorite color is yellow. Did you notice that the medow we found her in had yellow flowers? Maybe she feels safe with that color."
"Al, you named her? She may already have a name." Ed said walking towards her.
"Yeah, but she does talk so I thought it would be nice for us to call her something. All week I have been working to communicate with her and she respones to the name Lilly." He looked at her. "Watch. Lilly?" She looked up at him and smiled. "Do you want the red color?" he asked holding up the red crayon.
She held up her hand for it and he placed it in her small palm. She began to draw small lines on the paper and kept her smile as she did it.
"See. She will respond if you use her name and point at what you are talking about."
"Al, you figured this out on your own?" Mustang asked.
"Yeah, no one has really took the time to help her understand things. I don't think she knows how to do anything without someone showing, but she is a quick learner. If we work with her I am sure she will be able to talk and do other things in a few months."
"That is your's and Ed's job. I want you two to work with her at any spare time you get. That means if you leave this place, you take her with you." Mustang ordered then left with Hawkeye.
"Danm him." Ed said.

Al and Ed had spent most of their time with Lilly. Days turned into weeks and some months turned into weeks. Al was right, she was a quick learner and Mustang was also right, it was unhuman that she had those wounds and she healed rather fast. She also had no trouble with her talking. She repeated everything Al said to and had no speech problem. In Five months she had learned how to talk and do other things as if she had never had trouble with it in the first place. Al had helped her learn right from wrong while Ed helped her learn about Alchemy. She had the most trouble with walking and trying to get right from wrong in order.
"No! Lilly, you can't eat grass. If your hungry, say something." Al said, Taking the grass from her hands.
"But Al, I eat vegs. They are green." She protested in her soft voice.
"I know, but not all things are eatable. Here I got you an apple."
Al handed her the apple and she smiled. She took his hand and got off the ground. Everywhere she went, Al was with her. She would always be at his side and did what he said. Ed, on the other hand, would try to help her, but would always get mad and give up. She loved to be in his company, but he was always in his books. She would stand by Al and they would follow Ed around town, but he would hardly talk to her unless he was talking to both her and Al. It confussed her, but she didn't complain.
The next mouth, Ed told Al he had gotten a lead on the Philosopher' s Stone. He told Mustang about it and as soon as he was ready to go, Lilly appeared at his door way with Al. She had her hair pulled back in a half pony-tail with a red ribbon and her bangs framed her face as always. The ribbon matched her red tight, off the shounders, shirt. Her white mini-skirt and white flats that look cute on her feet, made her look beautiful. She wore the oufit all the time, but today she had a black back-pack on her back. She smiled at Ed.
"Where are you going?" Ed asked her.
"She is going with us, Brother. Mustang told us when he first made us her protectors. She has to come." Al said.
"WHAT!!! How are we suppost to protect her when we are always in trouble ??? She will get in the way! We are not takeing her!" Ed yelled.
"Brother, it is an order. We have no choice. She will stay by me and I will protect her. She won't get in the way." Al said in his normal tone.
"Al, what if she gets hurt? What if something happens to her?"
"She has us."
"Damn Mustang!" He walked up to Lilly."If you are coming then you have to stay close to Al. If anything happens, find the nearest place that looks safe and hide."
"Alright."
"Let's go."
------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------
Before they knew it, they were on the road. This would be Lilly's first time out of the town. She was excited and full of joy as they reached the train. Ed couldn' t help but smile at her. He had spent a lot of time with her but none of it was one-on-one. He wanted to, but something always came up. To him, she was beautiful and if it wasn't for the fact that he was always busy, he would love to have a few moments alone with her. He watched her sit beside Al on the train and stare out the window as it took off. Her eyes widened with fear as she felt it move. She stood up ready to get off when Ed gently grabed her hand. She looked down at him, almost in tears with fear.
"It's ok. It is suppost to do this. Remember when Al told you about the wheels? That is how it moves." Ed said.
Still scared, he stood up and looked at her. He felt proud that she was a few inches smaller than him, but he pushed the thought out of his mind. He moved her to the seat next to him than sat her down. He sat beside her and didn't let go of her hand. She moved closer as the train got faster. Before long, she had fallen asleep on Ed's shoulder. Ed blushed, but Al didn't say anything. The train moved in it's normal pace as the minutes went by.
An hour later they had arrived at the town called Tillen. Ed gently woke Lilly, and helped her off the train. The town was very busy and looked like everyone was to busy to talk. Ed began to walk to a bar that was in the middle of the town. Al took Lilly's hand and began to follow Ed. As soon as they walking in the bar, it got quiet. Everyone was staring at them. Ed snapped at them to stop staring and soon it was as talkative as before. Ed help Lilly onto a chair at the bar then ordered her a coke.
"Al and I have to go talk to a man over in the corner. We won't be far. stay here and order what you want if you finish your coke." Ed said.
"You won't leave me will you, Edward?" Lilly asked sadly.
"No, I promise we will come back for you."
She nodded, and watched them walk away. She silently drank her coke and waited while she clutched her tear drop necklace. Lilly got nervous when two men sat on both sides of her. She didn't look at them. She prayed that Ed and Al wound be back soon.
"So, all you know is that the Philosopher's Stone is that someone created someone to guard it? Who is guarding it? Where can I find him?" Ed said to the rough looking man.
"I don't know who is guarding it, but I do know that the people who created the person to guard it, lost him. Somehow he killed half of the staff and left. No one saw where he went, but he is still out there and is said to be extremly powerful." the man said.
"So, where was the man last seen?" Al asked.
"Don't know. It was suppost to be a secret about the people who did experiment on the man."
"Are you saying that this man was an experiment for someones personal projects? No wonder he went on a killing spree." Ed replyed.
-----Lilly-----
Lilly sat quietly until one of the men spoke.
"So sweet cheeks, what's your name."
Lilly looked up at him. He had jet black hair and looked about Mustang's age. He looked as if he had been rolling around in the dirt. His friend, who was obivious that he was younger, has blond hair and look like he too had been in the dirt.
"Lilly." she said silently.
"That's a pretty name." the blond headed one said. "How old are you Lilly?"
"I don't think I should be talking to you. Al said not to talk to strangers."
"Is Al your father?" the black head asked coldly.
"No."
"Well, I think we could become good friends."
He reached over and touched her left breast. She had no idea about sex or the difference between a man and a woman, she only knew that they were different somehow different, so when he touched her she didn't object. She did, however felt it was wrong. Finally, she pulled back and told him to stop. He and his friend both began to touch her. One had his hand over her mouth so she couldn't sceam. She tried to fight but they were to strong. No one seemed to noticed and if they did they didn't care. Tears flew from her eyes. Suddenly one of the man were threw across the room. The other stood up ready to fight when he was soon confronted by an armor suit. With on hit, the man flew across the room with the other. Ed came up to Lilly and wiped her eyes. She threw her arms around her and began to cry harder. He stroked her hair and then picked her up. When they got outside he sat on a bench with Lilly in his lap.
"Your okay now. Your safe. I'll never leave you alone again." Ed chanted.
Lilly cryed and her body shook. Al stood and watch wandering why Ed was acting like this. He had never said anything like that to a girl. Could it be he likes her? I thought he liked Winry, but he never said something like that to her when she got kidnaped. What makes him say it now? Maybe he has finally relized that she needs our protection-Al thought. After she stoped crying, Ed decided to go back to the Alchemist headquarters and tell Mustang in person about what the man had said. It was getting dark, so they decied to find a place to say and they would leave the next day. They walked the a motel and got one room with two beds. Al volunteered to sleep on the floor and after they ate, they got ready for bed.
