"PUSH!!!" Winry screamed.
Once Lilly's water broke, Armstorg scooped her up and took her to her and Ed's room. He lad her gently on the bed and Riza and Winry rushed everyone out while they prepared. Secretly, both girls had been reading up on giving birth to a child at home. They had no clue that Lilly would want them to, but they only read the books because they were thinking of a family of their own. Of coarse, neither would admit it. So they kept it a secret. They knew all there was to know about it though. Exspecially Riza. She had been reading the books for over a year. She never told Mustang.
"PUSH, LILLY!!!" Riza cryed.
Ed and the others were outside the closed door and waiting. Lilly's screams and Riza and Winry's shouts could be heard everywhere. Soon Winry came out covered in blood.
"We need hot water!!" She yelled.
Al jumped up and ran to the kitchen. Mustang and the others stared at her with horror. They had never seen so much blood on one person that came from creating a new life. Ed walked up to her and peered at the closed door behind her.
"Is she ok?" Ed asked looking conserned.
"She doing fine, but this is her first child and it is really hard on her. She's in a lot of pain." Winry said as Al ran up the stairs with the hot water.
Winry took it from her and ran back in. Befor she closed the door, Ed caught a glimps of Lilly. Her hair was braided and laying on one of her shoulders. Her head was proped up and her legs pulled close to her body with a wide space in between them. Her face was full of tears and sweat. Her dress was covered in sweat and at the bottom of it was blood. Riza was sitting in a chair and had her hands right at Lilly's opening. Lilly's screams go louder and her breathing heavyer. Winry closed the door.
Ed only caught the side of Lilly's body since the bed was side ways facing the door, so he couldn't see if the baby was showing. He keep his eyes on the door and placed his metal hand on it. Lilly cryed out his name and Ed's head shout up.
"Where...is ED!!!" Lilly screamed and cryed.
The door flew open and Winry grabed Ed's shirt. She pulled him in with a fst movement then slamed the door behind her. Winry pushed Ed up to Lilly. Lilly had her eyes tight and was pushing. Ed looked up at Riza who was staring down between Lilly's legs with such seriousness. Winry was wiping Lilly off and clean the blood from where Riza was so she could she what she was doing. Winry glanced up at Ed.
"Grab her hand, Ed!" she yelled at him.
Ed looked down at Lilly and took her hand. Lilly stoped pushing and opened her eyes. She peered up at Ed and tryed to catch her breath. Ed smiled at her to reasure her that he was here. Lilly went to say something to him, but suddenly let out a loud cry.
"COME ON, LILLY!!! PUSH!!!" Riza yelled not looking up.
"I....CAN'T!!!" Lilly cryed out of breath.
"YES YOU CAN!" Winry yelled.
Winry threw a wet cloth at Ed. He looked at her then at Lilly. He wiped Lilly forhead and Lilly squeezed his hand. Ed kissed her hand and looked at her.
"Come on, Lilly. You can do this." Ed whispered.
"I....can't...it hurts....and...I'm tired." Lilly whispered back while tears steamed down.
"I know, but you have to push or the baby may be in danger." Ed said.
Lilly's eyes opened wide with fear. She sqeezed Ed's hand as tight as she could and closed her eyes. Ed coached er as she began to push once more.
Hours passed and Lilly went in and out of consiousness. Ed held on to her hand and spoke to her to keep her from stoping. Riza and Winry worked non stop and was now tired. It had now been a long five hour labor. Lilly was tired and wanted to sleep up, but Ed did his best to keep her awake. The time ticked and Lilly's crys only got louder and more piercing. Ed didn't dare look down where Riza was working. He was scared he wouldn't like what he saw. Lilly's grip got tighter each time she had to push. Ed's hand was going numb, but he never pulled away. He wiped her forhead and kept the loose strands of hair out of her face.
Finally, Riza saw the baby's head.
"I SEE THE BABY'S HEAD, LILLY!!" She yelled and Winry ran over to her to see.
"LILLY, IT HAS BONDE HAIR!" Winry cryed out in excitment.
Lilly stoped pushing to reply.
"DON'T STOP!!! I NEED YOU TO KEEP PUSHING!!!" Riza yelled before Lilly could say anything.
Lilly took a deep breath and began again.
She stoped, took a breath, and started once more.
"ALMOST!"
Lilly pushed harder.
"JUST A LITTLE HARDER LILLY!!!"
Lilly pushed as hard as her small body could. She let out the most painful cry anyone had heard and was followed by a baby's cry and a huge blue light came from Lilly's eyes. They baby came out bathed in blue light then fadded as it came to Riza's arms. Lilly stoped pushing and relaxed. Ed watched as Winry brought a fresh towel to Riza and took the baby from her so she could clean it.
"It's a girl, Lilly. She beautiful." Winry said looking at the small baby.
Riza sat back and Lilly began to cry once more. Ed'd eyes sparkled as he watched Winry take the baby away to clean it. He looked down at Lilly and kissed her cheek.
"We have a girl. We have a Rika. You did it. You beautiful. I love you." Ed chanted as her strooked her head.
Lilly put on a weak smile and closed her eyes. Ed watched her sleep for a while until Winry came back in with the baby. She gently placed the girl in Ed's awaiting arms and helped Riza bathe Lilly. Ed walked out of the room so the girl's could clean up and change the sheets. Once her walked out eveyone crouded around him. Al was right beside him.
"She beautiful, Ed." Mustang said.
"Her name's Rika." Ed replyed still not taking his eyes from her.
Ed watched as the baby opened her eyes. She looked up at him with a tired yawn and eveyone 'awwed.' Al smiled.
"She has your eyes and hair. I can tell she is going to be just like you." Al said.
"No, you should have seen it. She came out bathed in light, just like Lilly's eyes. She's going to be more like her mother, but she will be my Little Alchemist." Ed said and smiled Rika.
She yawned and closed her eyes once more. Ed kissed her small head and held her gently. The men talked for awhile about Rika and how she would be raised then looked up at the door as Riza and Winry came out. Both were clean and looked exhaused. Winry walked over to Al and yawned. He laughted and lead her to their room, Mustang did the same with Riza. Ed watched as the croud left and he slowly walked with Rika in his arms back into the room. He glanced over at Lilly. She was sleeping peacfully with clean sheets, night gown, and body. Her hair was washed and re-braided. Ed kissed her gently on the cheek and settled in a chair in th corner of the room to watch her and the baby sleep. All got quiet and that's when he finally noticed, it was dark out and around 8. He wasn't tired, but instead full of excitement and joy. Both of his girl's were sleeping and exhausted. He smiled. He now had two loves in his life. He couldn't be more happy.

The night went on and Ed held Rika in his arms without moving or stop smiling. Soon, she began to stir and awoke crying out in hunger. Ed knew he had nothing to give her at the moment and he didn't want to wake Lilly, so he tryed to calm her with small 'shh's' and pating her on the back. Lilly woke anyways. She sat up with a small bit of pain and watched as Ed turned the light's on and walked over to her. Lilly smiled.
"Is that..." Lilly said holding back her tears.
"Yeah, and she's hungry." Ed said.
He intructed her how to hold the baby, then it hit him. Lilly knew nothing about babies and he didn't even graze the subject with her since he was so busy trying to make her comfortable. At least he had read some books a while back after Huges 's girl was born. He wanted to be prepared for the next time it might happen. Lilly looked down at little Rika and smiled. She held her close as she cryed and kissed her small cheeks. Lilly looked up at Ed. She was cluless.
"What do we feed her?" Lilly asked.
Ed smiled at her then unbuttoned her shirt. Lilly gasped.
"Not now! I just had a baby!" Lilly objected.
"No, not that. She as to feed. You'll see." Ed said.
He moved her shirt off her shoulders and moved the baby's head to her brest. Lilly watched as the baby began to suckle on her breast. Lilly looked up at Ed.
"What..what is she doing?" She asked nervously.
"Feeding. That's how she eats. Once you get pregnate, you breast get full of milk so the baby can feed. Everytime she crys like that, she's hungry and you'll have to do this, but only in private."
Lilly nodded then turned he attension back to the baby.
"It's amazing." Lilly said in a daze. "She came out of me just like this. She's so perfect. I already love her. Is that possible?"
"Of coarse it is. You love her bacause she is yours..."
"Because she is ours." Lilly said correcting him.
Ed smiled. Lilly looked down at Rika and watched her feed. Soon, she was done and Ed took her back from Lilly. Lilly buttoned her shirt and looked but at Ed. He had Riza over her shoulder and was patting her bottom. Ed saw Lilly's curiousity.
"She has to burp to get the air bubbles out." Ed said and Lilly nodded.
Rika let out a small burp, and Ed made Lilly lay back down. He kissed her lips gently then took Rika to her small wooden crib on the other side of the room. He placed her in it then got dressed in his night clothes. He crawled in bed beside Lilly and saw that she was already asleep. He smiled and pulled her close. He feel asleep thinking of the things he was going to teach Lilly about babies and what he was going to teach Rika about life. So much was ahead of him. He he couldn't wait for it.
