Chapter 2: Stone and Emily

 

Al and Ed walked continued to walk towards the restaurant when a dog ran towards them.

 

The dog was a pepper colored with a complete patch of black around one eye, the dog stopped and looked at Ed.

 

The dog seemed happy to see Ed; the dog's tongue hung out of the corner of its mouth, and waged its tail as it barked gleefully at Ed.

 

“Brother?” Al asked as the dog jumped on Ed, knocking him over, and licked his face.

 

Ed shoved the dog off of him and stared at it, the dog looked very familiar to him somehow.

 

“Stone?” the voice caused Ed to look up at the girls running towards him, “Where are you Stone.”

 

Ed's eyes grew wide when he saw one of the girls, but it couldn't be could it?

 

Al stared at the same girl that caught Ed's attention, but she didn't seem to notice them, but the other girl did.

 

The girl that noticed them had black hair, green eyes and wore a green shirt and blue jeans.

 

“Oh, hello?” she said as the other girl grabbed her arm whispering, “Who's there Naomi?”

 

 

Naomi looked at Ed as if asking his name. “Edward, Ed for short and this is my brother Al?”

 

Naomi got one look at Al and about jumped from her skin, “H…h…hello?”

 

“Hi” said Al as Naomi grabbed a hold of the dogs leash and handed it to the other girl, “Here Emily.”

 

Emily? Ed thought wide eyed, she looks just like his sister and luckily Naomi didn't pay close enough attention to their resemblances.

 

Emily had Ed's hair color hair pulled into high ponytail that came past her shoulders, she also had clear blue eyes. She wore a long sleeved red shirt with black gloves with black pants.

 

“Come on Emily” said Naomi taking her arm, “I better get you home before over protective big brother, Adam, gets home and gives another three hour lecture.

 

“We better” said Emily smiling, “I don't think I could survive another one of his lectures, I thought I was going to die of boredom last time.”

 

Both girls laughed as Naomi looked at her watch, “Oh, NO! I'm going to be LATE! Mom is going to kill ME!”

 

Emily pulled away from Naomi, “Go on I'll be fine. Don't be late.”

 

“Emily no,” said Naomi, “I can't let you go home alone, Adam, would kill me! What if you get lost?”

 

“Naomi?” Emily sighed slouching, “If we're on Rose Street, like YOU said, home is a block away and beside Stone knows the way. Don't you boy?”

 

The dog barked as Emily patted him on the side, “Good boy”

 

“We'll make sure she makes it home,” Ed said as Al looked at him a little surprised.

 

“I don't know?” Naomi said a little worried.

 

“GO ON!” said Emily, “I'll be fine and if I have too I'll do it and I don't care what Adam says about it!”

 

“Alright if your sure?” Naomi said know that once Emily makes up her mind there is no changing it.

 

Naomi then turned and ran in the direction her and Emily had come, “Bye”

 

Emily waved then turned to Ed and smiled, “Thanks, Ed right?”

 

“Yes,” said Ed wondering why she wasn't recognizing him they looked exactly alike! Naomi just never really looked at him she was to busy watch Emily and Al.

 

“So where do you live?” Ed asked as she held her hand out to him.

 

“123 Maple Street” Emily replied as Ed looked at her hand then back at her.

 

Ed took her hand and led her, not knowing why she had to be led, but he walked her to her home.

 

“So” said Ed, “What were you talking about when you said `I'll do it'” “A little nosy aren't we?” Emily teased, “I was talking about my Alchemy, my older brother doesn't approve of it.”

 

They walked in silence the rest of the way to Emily's house.

 

The frustration built up in Ed, she hadn't recognized him at all, and why hasn't she recognized him, I mean he's her TWIN BROTHER!!

 

“DON'T YOU RECAGNIZE ME!” he shouted making her turn and face him, causing the dog to come between them and growl at Ed protectively.

 

She didn't reply she just stood there comforting Stone and that angered him.

 

“CAN'T YOU SEE…” Ed began but was cut off by Emily.

 

“NO ED!” she shouted, “I CAN'T SEE! I'm blind”

 

“What?” Ed said softly, “Emily, I'm…”

 

“No Ed” Emily said stopping him, “don't apologize, you didn't no. I can hide it most of the time. That's why Adam doesn't like Alchemy or State Alchemists. Because my brother and I practiced Alchemy till we were attacked by a State Alchemist, we fought well, but I was hit with an Alchemy blast and went blind….”

 

Just then the door flung open and they're stood a man in his early twenties and grabbed Emily's arm yanking her away.

 

He looked at Ed in total surprise then his eyes filled with hate, “Thank you, Emily go inside we need to have a talk”

 

“Hey wait!” Ed shouted as he reached for Emily's arm. But the guy got in the way, grabbing Ed by the collar and lifted him off the ground.

 

“Stay the HELL away from my little sister” he said threw gritted teeth and tossed Ed aside.

 

“ADAM!” Emily shouted as Adam grabbed her arm pulling her away.

 

She gave Ed and Al apologetic look as Adam said, “Emily I don't ever want to see you with those boy's again
