Fullmetal Alchemist Fan Fiction ❯ Lonely ❯ Escape ( Chapter 4 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
This is my second FMA fic. There are a few warnings: Winry bashing, Al OOC, Ed OOC, and this will be an Ed/Roy pairing. This fic switches POV back and forth between Ed and Roy. Some chapters with have both, some only one. I don't own FMA but this original story is mine.
There is also a color key.
Black: Author's notes and other people speaking.
Black with * means random noises.
Blue: Roy (Both thoughts and speaking in and out of POV mode)
Red: Ed (Both thoughts and speaking in and out of POV mode)
Now without further ado, here's the story. Enjoy!
Lonely
“If you don't like having Fullmetal live with you, then perhaps, he could come live with me,” I said while I still hold Ed. He looked like he might faint at any second, probably from fear. He's shaking like a leaf! What the hell did they do to you, Ed?!
Surprisingly, Rockbell put her hands on her hips and shook her head, as she yelled, “NO!”
“Why not?” I ask in a stern tone. Ed's shaking seems to have intensified. He seems really frightened now.
“Edward is supposed to stay with Al and I because it's for his own good,” she explained. “Like I said, Further, he's not very good at alchemy anymore and he's too stupid for any other job. He'd just be in the way at your place as he is here.”
Then she tried to grab Ed by the arm but I pulled him closer to me. That's some gratitude, Rockbell! When you were both twelve, he saved you from a serial killer! Did you forget Barry the Chopper, you ungrateful wench?!
I'm getting so scared now. Roy is so kind to me but Winry has that angry glint in her eyes. That glint means I'm about to be punished. I'm shaking even worse than I was before. I really want to leave with Roy and live with him. I'd probably be happier with him. Uh-oh! Something's wrong with me! The fear is really building up now!
“I feel so weak…” I whisper before everything around me fades to black.
“I feel so weak…” Ed whispers before he faints in my arms. He looked very scared when Rockbell glared at him.
“Ed!” I yell as I pat his cheek, “Fullmetal, can you hear me?!”
“Humph!” The wench growls, “Ed's done this before, Further. It's usually done to get attention!”
Attention, my ass! Ed's as skinny as a rail and he looks improperly fed! He fells like he's mainly skin and bones! Depression, near starvation, possible mental/emotional/physical abuse…THAT DOES IT!
“ALPHONSE!” I barked, “I ORDER YOU TO PACK YOUR BROTHER'S THINGS AND BRING THEM TO ME!”
“Yes, Sir!” said Al, who looked a bit scared. Good. You deserve more for letting this freak do this to your brother! Al came back a bit later with two big suitcases. I order him to follow me down to the limo as I carry Ed bridal-style to the car.
Among my subordinates is Hawkeye, who is now my personal secretary.
“Fullmetal,” she gasps, “Sir, what happened here?”
“Just tell Alphonse where to put the luggage, please,” I said as I carried Ed to the back seat and buckled him in. Riza hands me a blanket to cover Ed with so he keeps warm.
“Will there be anything else, Sir?” Al asks sheepishly after I finish tucking his brother into the car.
I look at him and see not anger, but extreme regret in eyes and face. He probably feels really bad about what happened but, to be frank, I'm too angry with him and his harpy to care.
“Yes,” I said with an angry undertone, “You and that beast you call a fiancée can think about what's been going on with Ed. Also, come by alone in a few days to see your brother and apologize for hurting him this way.”
“Yes, Sir!” said Al, whose eyes seemed to long to tell his brother that he was sorry.
Al runs back into the apartment building as Riza and I join Ed in the back of the car. He breathes softly as he sleeps against my side. A broken angel is the only way to describe him.
“What happened, Roy?” Riza asks me as she ruffles Ed's golden hair.
“I don't exactly know,” I reply, “But, I think Ed's been abused and ignored.”
Riza's expression was one of shock and rage combined in one look. She just looked at Ed with pity as she rubbed his back.
We got to my living quarters, where we met up with Major, err, Lt. Colonel Armstrong. Ed was still asleep while I bundled him up and carried him out of the limo. Like myself, Riza and Armstrong were in the East with me, so we were all surprised at what happened.
“What happened to Edward Elric?” asked the Strong-Arm Alchemist as his eyes filled with concern. I told him my theory of what happened to Ed. Strong-Arm didn't like that as his expression darkened.
“I'll be right back,” he says before leaving. I took Ed to the guestroom in my living quarters. Riza pulled back the covers as I unbundled Ed, got his shoes off, and placed him under the covers. Just then, Armstrong
was let in by one of the subordinates I had outside.
“I thought that this would make Edward feel better,” he says as he hands me a yellow teddy bear with a blue ribbon around his neck. It looked really cute so I placed it in Ed's arms. As soon as the bear was placed in his arms, Fullmetal started to cuddle it like a baby.
“He's so sweet,” gushes Riza softly as we watch him. We all tip toe out of the room and I shut the door quietly behind me.
