Even when I'm covered with sweat and blood,

You'll still be there to hold me.

Even when the future doesn't look good,

You'll still be there for me.

When I see your shining smile,

I find it all worth while,

To stop and look and hide my guilt,

All my problems fade and wilt,

Just like a rose changing from red,

To a color that's faint and fading dead.

When I'm gone, I still think of you,

Not bothering to follow orders,

But looking into the blue.

The color of water, the color of sky,

The color of the iris in your eye.

Though you may not be on the leash with me,

Living the life of the military,

Being with dogs tied on chains,

The harder you pull, the more it strains.

Living the State is not for you,

I don't want you to suffer too.

On my way home, I run to your place,

To press my lips against your face.

And give you a kiss for taking long,

And assure you that I've come home.

Home again for you to stay,

Throwing the lap dog life away.

I'll stay and live my life with you,

And remember my Kateland,

I'll always love you…
