*Al's POV—his thoughts*
I miss you brother.
I miss you so much it hurts.
But I know you had to do it. You had to return to the other world.
It was the only way to get rid of them. To be rid of the homunculi. They can't be attacked or manipulated anymore.
You sacrificed yourself to destroy the gate so that no more of them could be.
But I still miss you. We all miss you.
Winry and I named our son after you. We can't help but smile everytime he refuses to drink his milk. He's also a brilliant alchemist. He's so much like you it's eerie.
Mustang has become Fuhrer, so now the military's changing. It's slowly becoming the force of good that he's always hoped for. Hawkeye's still by his side as his best officer.
Havoc and Feury are together. They became life partners after Mustang got to the top. Feury's now retired though, he stays at their home and takes care of strays.
Hughe's wife died recently, she fell ill. Eliza was heartbroken but her and her husband got through it. Yes, husband. Eliza's married now and to Fletcher Tringham. He met her when he went to Central for some research. He's a top alchemist now, very much sought after.
Russ is still working on his plant alchemy, his wife along with him. She's nice. You would've liked her. She keeps Russ in check.
Aunt Pinaoki died after Ed's—our son's, fifth birthday. We miss her terribly.
Teacher had a child soon after you destroyed the gate. He's now a young alchemist working along side Armstrong. Armstrong retired from the military and decided to open up a shop of books. It's quite a nice business he has.
chokes back sob
We've moved on, like you wanted. But we still miss you. I still miss you.
*Normal POV*
Al felt a hand touch him on his right forearm. “Father?”
Al smiled, turned to look at his son. His eldest son, now 15, who looked so much and acted so much like the person he was named after. “Yes Ed?”
Ed's smile, the smile put up when hurt—so much like his namesake's. “Will you tell me about Uncle again?”
