Swirling fog came into view as she opened her green eyes to see the colors spread inside the crystal ball that she held in her small hands. This is it! She thought in excitement. This is the day I finally find out who my master really is!

So intent on her thoughts, she didn't hear nor see the large double oak doors open on the other side of the chamber. What she did notice, however, was the booming voice now beside her.

“Saga Kimitono! What in the cursed nine hells do you think you are doing?” bellowed her mentor, causing Saga to drop the crystal ball. She watched the shards sprawl across the polished stone floor in disbelief before she nervously tried to explain.

“M-master Hal-halenar, I can e-explain-” Saga is cut off by Halenar.

“No, you will not. These past three years, all you have done is cause trouble. I have had enough. It is time for you to pay for your actions.” Halenar grabbed her arm and led Saga out of the chamber and down many winding stairs.

Saga was too frightened to disobey, and eventually found herself in a small cell that she knew was a holding cell. Halenar shoved her inside and closed the barred door, sealing it with a spell.

He rushed back up the stairs, leaving Saga in the damp, cold cell. Damn, why is it that I always seem to get caught for the bad things I do, never the good? Well, I'm definitely in trouble this time. Note to self- never snoop around your mentor's chamber without permission, she thought glumly. Just when I thought things were looking up for me, too.

Halenar came down a couple of hours later, holding a small bundle is his hand. “Saga, for punishment, I have decided that you will be banished to another dimension. When you have shown me that you have cleaned up your act, I will bring you back.” He said, shoving the bundle toward Saga. She reached out and studied it.

A little fairy lay sleeping in her hands. It had short pink hair and wore a frilly white dress and blue frills could be seen at the bottom. She had a round, white hat that has 2 antennas at the top. There was also a big blue ribbon tied around her waist. The fairy woke up and revealed sapphire blue eyes that shone brightly in the dim light of the holding cell.

“Hmm? I didn't think she would wake up so quickly. Saga, this is going to be your fairy. She will follow you everywhere you go. Since you are the first person she saw, she will recognise you as her master. You have to leave now. Come with me.”

He took the spell off the door and led her out. The little fairy followed behind, not saying a word. Halenar took Saga to his private casting chamber and placed Saga on a weird looking stand. There were runes and markings on the floor surrounding the stand. Halenar tossed a backpack to Saga. “Inside is everything you will need to survive until youcan get your own stuff. Now, let's get started.”

Halenar closed his eyes and started to chant while making strange gestures. The markings gave off a purple glow while the runes gave off blue as Halenar chanted some words in an arcane tongue. The light from the markings and runes started to spin and eventually created a swirling hole in the ground. Saga looked at it and screamed in fright.

Halenar stopped chanting and looked at Saga. “Jump in, Saga.Hurry up before it closes you foolish girl!.” He told her. Saga nodded reluctantly and stepped into the vortex, the fairy following after.

The vortex started to pull Saga in and she felt a weird sensation as she felt herself be pulled further and further into the hole.

“Oh yes, I should probably tell you something before you go, Your magic-shouted Halenar as the hole disappeared. “Hmm, the hole disappeared sooner than I thought… too bad she won't know that her magic will work differently in other dimensions… Oh well.”

The chamber went totally quiet and Halenar sighed. “Things will be much more peacefull while she's gone. Saga, I'm sorry, but it's for your own good. Well, watching her try to fit in should be entertaining,” he chuckled then left to finish some new spells that he had aquired.

“Ugnn…”

Saga opened her eyes and saw the fairy floating in front of her. She studied her surroundings. She lay beneath a tree with sunlight streaming through the leaves. Vast green hills were all that she could see, aside from a clear blue sky.

“I'm going to kick Halenar's ass when I find a way to get back,” she shouted angrily.

“Hello mistress, it's about time you woke up.” Piped the fairy in a small child's voice.

Saga sat up and rubbed her eyes. “Whoa, don't call me mistress, its just Saga okay? Do you have a name?”

The fairy shook her head. “I don't have a name, but you can give me one if you like,” she said.

“Hmm… okay. How about…” you looked at her and her voice sounded sweet and child like, so you got an idea. “So, does Sugar sound okay?” Sugar's face lit up and she smiled.

“Okay!”

Saga laughed. “Sugar it is. Well, let's see what Master Halenar left me in the bag.”

She looked through it and what she mostly found was multiple outfits of a white shirt with blue sleeves, red mini skirt, 2 pairs of black shoes, white socks, and button clips for her hair. Her current outfit, a red dress that goes to mid thigh with long yellow sleeves, red cape, white long socks, and red boots folded down, obviously wouldn't fit in, judging be the clothes her master had left her. Saga looked around, seeing nobody, and changed into her new clothes.

She looked down at herself and sighed. She looked through her bag once again, and found a necklace that looked the same as her new hair clips. She put it on, along with her hair clips and threw her clothes back into the bag. Sugar sat upon her head and Saga slung the bag on her back and looked around again. In the distance she spotted what looked like an outline of a lone building. Well, it will do for now, I guess she thought.

“Saga, where are we going? Saga? SAGA?” shouted Sugar as Saga strode off in the direction of the building.

They arrived at the building shortly after sunset and Saga looked it over. It was pretty crappy looking: chipping paint and the front door was dangling off of one hinge and it creeked loudly. Maybe I'll use this for shelter for now… thought Saga. She entered, Sugar flying ahead slightly. The dark halls had many creaky floorboards, most of them rotting and broken already. After walking a little ways, Sugar stopped in front of a door.

“Hmm? What's up Sugar?” Saga asked quietly. She looked into the room and found bookshelves loaded with books. She walked in and grabbed the first one she could see. Saga tried but found that she couldn't read it. There were many formulas and writing that she didn't recognize. Well, that makes sense; a different dimension means a different language.

Sugar flew through the rows of book shelves and found one that looked pretty old and called to Saga.

“Saga! Saga! I found an old book! Come see! Come See!”

Saga turned her attention to where Sugar was and walked over to her and took the book. She looked at the cover, and it had a weird symbol on it. “Hmm… maybe it's a rune of some sort?” Saga opened the book and once again saw writings that she couldn't read. How am I going to accomplish anything if I can't even read something? I need some sort of magic or something…

Saga smacked herself on the forehead “Duh! I am a wizard! If I can't do a simple language spell, then I don't deserve to go back!” She remembered that the learn language spell was the first one that Halenar had taught her. She walked over to a clutter-free spot on the floor and drew some runes and markings on in the dust coating the floor, then placed the book in the centre. When that was finished, she started to chant:

Bagahi laca bachahe
Lamac cahi achabahe
Karrrelyos
Lamac lamec bachalyos
cabahagi sabalyos
Baryols
Lagozatha cabyolas
Sam ahac et famyolas
Harrahya!

The familiar blue and purple light started to emit from her spell, but it suddenly turned red and orange. What the hell? That's not what happens! The glow rose from the markings on the floor and floated in the air. Sugar looked from the markings to Saga and back again, unsure of what went wrong. Saga screamed when the glowing marks flew strait at her and Sugar. The glow surrounded them both and Saga reached out and grabbed Sugar out of the air. The light emitting from them both lit the whole room for a second, then faded away, along with Saga's consciousness.

“Sagaaaaaaa!”
