“Dam it all,” cried Ed as he kicked their only mode of transportation. Turns out, they were now in the middle of the scorching desert with no transportation. “It's just my luck the stupid thing would brake, you know this is all your fault!” he said pointing to Karissa who grabbed all of her stuff and began to walk away leaving Al and Ed there. “Hey where the hell are you going?”

 

“Well either you transmute a car, or you follow me as we walk to Lior,” said Karissa as Ed crossed his arms and Al began to catch up with Karissa. “I would move if I were you!” But Before Ed could even fathom the thought of moving he was thrown by the tractor blowing up, giving his hair a make over and turning it into an afro.

 

“Brother, perhaps we should listen to her,” said Alphonce as Ed brushed himself off and growled, but nonetheless followed the girl. It took a while but soon they came across the town of Lior. It had changed a lot since Ed and Al's last visit, since the population was a lot lower.

 

“What happened here?” asked Ed as Karissa looked at him. She was surprised the Elric brother's didn't know what happened in Lior, since it was a big military invasion. Of course if it was like any other problem in the military they probably covered it up. Soon a voice came over the loudspeaker telling everyone in the streets to bow as the holy mother came down the streets. “Holy mother?” asked Ed as Karissa used this time to sneak away from her partners. `I always work better alone' she thought.

 

“Ed…isn't that Rose?” asked Al as the `holy mother' who oddly resembled there old friend Rose walked down the street.

 

“I think your right Al, Say Karissa,” said Ed as he and Al both noticed the girl had left them. “Dam where did she go?” asked Ed as they saw the red light that belonged to scar coming from a few blocks over. So without a second thought they both ran.

 

“Tell me what your purpose with the philosopher's stone is,” said Karissa dodging another one of Scar's attempted attacks. “Either that or I could kill you…”

 

“I'm afraid I will destroy you state alchemist,” said Scar grabbing Karissa's right hand as his arm began to glow red, but Scar was surprised to notice her hand was not destroyed. “So you have auto-mail, just like another one of you military dogs.”

 

“Ya I guess you're right, although I'm not three feet tall,” said Karissa as she placed her hands together and was about to destroy scar when a certain old friend of hers showed up. “Just like you to ruin my fun Envy”

 

“I'm afraid I can't let you destroy this person,” said Envy as Karissa smirked. “What's so intriguing about this?”

 

“Oh just the fact that your little pawn just left,” said Karissa as Envy turned to look and noticed Scar was gone, however during that time Karissa used all her speed to get away from the homunculus. She didn't know how to explain it, but whenever she was around them, she lost energy and felt sick to her stomach. She didn't think to wonder about anyone following her, or about her partners which were looking for her, and since she was so zoned out Scar took the opportunity and grabbed her hand. “Shit!” thought Karissa as her Auto-mail hand was destroyed.

 

“I can't let you live, since you're one of them,” said Scar as a transmutation light surrounded the two. “So Edward Elric you showed up here huh?”

 

“Of course, now what seems to be going on here,” said Edward smirking as Karissa stepped back and placed her broken auto mail arm behind her back. “I mean what would you want to do in a calm place like this Scar? What purpose does this serve?” He asked as Karissa stared blankly at the lines in the ground. `A Transmutation circle?' she thought as her eyes grew wide. “Tell me, or else you die!”

 

“Edward run!” cried Karissa as she grabbed Edward by the hand. She didn't listen to anything as Ed and Alphonce yelled at her. Finally they reached the outskirts of Lior where finally Edward grabbed Karissa and through her to the ground.

 

“What the hell was that?” asked Ed as Karissa sighed and pulled herself to her feet beginning to walk away. “Hey you come back here, I wasn't finished speaking with you!” Karissa just stopped in her spot and turned to look back at Lior a tear falling from her eye.

 

“Brother!” cried Al who noticed the overwhelming sadness that Karissa's aura was sending out.

“We've got to get to Risembol,” said Karissa as she held up her destroyed auto-mail arm. “Seems we have more in common then you thought, huh Ed?” she said as Edward and Al looked at each other. “Let's get going…” She said but was stopped as Al stood in front of her. “What's your problem?”

 

“Don't you think what's going on here is kind of wrong,” said Al as Karissa went to turn the other way, but Edward stood in front of her. “We're your partners Karissa, the least you could do is explain, why we're heading to Risembol? Or maybe why you pulled us out of Lior? And if none of those questions are good maybe the reason as to why you have an auto-mail arm?”

 

“You sure do know how to drive a hard bargain, however I have no reason to explain myself to you,” she cried. Karissa clapped her hands together and snapped her fingers and very soon Ed and Al were stuck together.

 

“What the hell did you do to us?” cried Ed who tried to pull himself from his younger brother.

 

“Perhaps before you become a partner with someone, you find out there special abilities. I mean I would explain them to you if I wanted to, but right now I need to go and get my arm fixed so chow small-fry” She began to run away ignoring Edwards outbreak from being called short. She picked up her silver heart necklace and let a tear fall from her eyes. `I wont let them get away with this' she thought.

 

“Dam her, what the hell did she do to us,” asked Ed as Al sighed. “Let's walk back to Lior, it's not like she's that important, besides we have a mission to follow, and we need to undo what ever she did” Al decided not to protest since he knew his brother was not in the best of moods.

 

So slowly the two began to make their way back to the town of Lior, however they got quite the surprise when they saw two military trucks pull up. “Elric's?” called the Major as Ed and Al, who were still stuck together, walked towards him. “What the… Oh wait let me guess, you made Miss. Karissa angry didn't you?” Laughed Armstrong as Edward began to speak.

 

“Major what are you talking about, do you know what the hell she did to us,” asked Ed as Armstrong nodded. “And what's with the whole Miss. Karissa thing, I mean she's not all that great”

 

“Well first off, even if I do know what she did to you I have no idea how to undo it, and the reason I call her Miss. Is because I've known her for a very long time,” said Armstrong. “However if you think you could undo this I'll let you try, Karissa made you a negative magnet and made Al a positive one making you both very powerful and very…how do you say `Attracted to each other'”

 

“Man I swear to god when we find her, I'll...” started Ed who was interrupted as the Colonel came to join them.

 

“You mean Karissa isn't with you,” cried Roy as everyone around him winced from his loud voice. “Who the hell does she think she is, even if this is Lior. That fools' going to get herself killed soon, and what if someone follows her, man she's worse than having my own child”

 

“Colonel, why are you here? Did the military decided to stick its' nose into this business or something,” asked Alphonce as Roy sighed and took a deep breath.

 

“The reason we really came here was because Karissa knew something that she withheld from the military. You wouldn't happen to know where she went Fullmetal now would you?”

 

“From what I remember her saying she was heading to Risembol, but she never did say why,” said Al answering for Ed since he knew his brother wouldn't say, as Roy clenched his fists.

 

“I see, well it seems we are heading to Risembol then,” said Mustang as he walked towards the truck. `You had better hope we get to you before the crimson alchemist does Karissa.' And with that the colonel's truck drove away.

 

“Man, he just left us like this, that bastard,” cried Ed as he turned the opposite direction that the colonel was going. “Let's take the back way to Risembol, we need to make that girl put us back to the way we were” So Alphonce and Edward Elric began to make their way back to there home town.

Karissa hadn't stopped running for half a day when finally she made it to Risembol. Not much had changed, it was still a quite town with a population of about 100. She walked for a while longer taking in the beauty of the town when she saw the house she hadn't been too in what felt like forever. She walked up to the door and knocked on it waiting for an answer, when finally an old women answered. “Mrs. Pinako nice to see you again” she said with a beaming smile.

 

“K-Karissa Mustang? That's really you huh? Well this is a surprise, but why would you be here?” she asked as Karissa held up her broken hand. “I figured as much, however this hand was the strongest I have ever made, and you're leg is still working…what have you been doing?”

 

“Oh nothing much, however I know this may seem kind of rushed but we need to do this as fast as possible,” said Karissa looking back as if to see that someone was following her.

 

“You're lucky we know your visiting habits, Winry!” Lady Pinako called as the blonde haired best friend of Ed and Alphonce walked up the stairs. “Winry we need a new hand for Karissa…we do have one left right?” Winry just nodded since she was shocked to even see Karissa there. “Would you go and get it for me?” Winry nodded again and soon left.

 

Karissa's auto-mail was fixed in a jiffy and even Winry talked to her, however no one really said much as Karissa stood up and walked to the door. “Thanks for everything you guy's, I'll come visit soon” And with that Karissa left.

 

“Grandma what does…” asked Winry as Pinako pointed to the calendar on the wall. “June 30, the day she tried to bring her father back…”
